    Pecan Cake With Creamy Butterscotch Frosting

    Pecan Cake

    Combine 3 cups flour, 1 T. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt; set aside. cream together 1 cup butter, softened and 2 cups brown sugar, packed; add 4 large eggs, one at a time, stirring well. Blend in 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. butter pecan flavoring and 1 1/4 cups buttermilk. Spread evenly into 2-9" round cake pans, greased and lined with waxed paper and greased again. bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. cool.
    Layer and frost with:

    Creamy Butterscotch Frosting

    Melt over hot (not boiling) water, 1 cup butterscotch chips. Remove for water. Blend 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir in until smooth the melted butterscotch chips. Beat in gradually until thick enough to spread, 2-3 cups sifted powdered sugar. Decorate with pecan halves.
