Low Carb Breads and Other Grain Products

I've found some low carb breads, tortillas and English muffins which have helped me keep my carbs and my calories down.

These are the products I've found so far. I think I've calculated the carbs correctly with the amount of dietary fiber.

    Breads
Beefsteak Soft Rye Bread 1 slice is 12g carbs and 60 calories

Brownberry Carb Counting Multi Grain Bread 1 slice is 9g carbs and 60 calories

    Weight Watcher's Multi-grain bread 2 slices are 12g carbs and 100 calories

    English Muffins
Thomas Multi-grain Light English Muffins 1 muffin is 16g carbs and 100 calories

    Pasta
Dreamfields Pasta is 5g carbs and 190 calories for a 2oz. dry serving (thank you Joyce!)

    Tortillas
Tumaro Low Carb Multi Grain tortillas are 5g carbs, 2.5g of fat and 100 calories each

Tumaro also has low carb tortillas in Salsa, Garden Vegetable and Green Onion which I haven't found or tried as well as some low in carb Wrapp-Arounds in the same flavors as the tortillas

I'm still new to this and I'm sure there are many more. I just learned about the Dreamfield's Pasta from Joyce the other day. I'd love to hear about products you have found. Please add yours.

We really like La Tiara taco shells. I can find them at a couple of grocery stores, as well as WalMart. One shell has 4 carbs and 40 calories. They are thinner than many, but taste great!

    Hi.

Here in NY we get Arnold's Carb Counter bread - 6 gr. per slice- I get mine at BJ's - otherwise it's too expensive!

Also, online, at www.netrition.com I get Mama Lupes tortillas - very good- Steel's Gourmet low sugar condiments, DaVinci sugar free syrups, etc.

S&H is only $4.95 per order, so check it out. Very good low carb/ low sugar products.

Mission also makes a low-carb tortilla. They have 18 grams of carbs, but 11 grams of fiber, so only 7 net grams of carbs. They taste like regular flour tortillas. They have 110 calories, 2.5 grams of fat. I use these to make wraps instead of bread to make sandwiches. I've only been able to find them at Meijer's. Kroger's used to sell them, but I haven't seen them there lately.

    Thanks for the contributions!

I saw another brand of tortillas in the diabetic section at the grocery store last night but the name escapes me at the moment. I thought I'd try them next time and I'll add them to the post then.

Mary it's my pleasure. Finding some low carb grains made diet planning so much easier for me. The doctor was telling me I needed all these whole grain servings per day but it didn't take long for them to eat up my carb allotment per meal or snack and often times I was still hungry. Finding these products made a huge difference. I really like the Weight Watcher's Bread too and it's lower sodium than most breads as well. The Brownberry low carb bread is also good. It almost tastes like buttered white bread to me. It works well for those times when whole grain breads just don't taste right like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or if I want toast to soak up the runny yolks when I have fried eggs. It's hard to find though, it tends to sell fast.

Natural Ovens "Carb Conscious" bread has 80 calories and 9 g carbs (5 "net" carbs).

The Dreamfield's pasta is great. I serve it to people and they don't know that it's not low-carb.

Hi Aashlee, thanks for adding the Natural Ovens Carb Conscious bread. I'd tried it awhile back when I couldn't find my favorites but I'd forgotten to add it.

    I love the Dreamfield's pasta.

I've been eating the Kashi GO LEAN hot cereal with clusters, it's the honey and cinnamon and is it ever good. The net carbs after deducting the fiber is 21 grams per serving, it's 150 calories and it has 2 grams of fat. I found it at Walmart.
