Scrumptious Appetizer & New to Me Recipe - Bacon Wraps

Wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around a Club cracker. Place on cookie sheet or in pan. Sprinkle all with brown sugar. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
Had these last night at a Christmas party and they were really delicious. Never had anything like this before.

Do you think these could be made ahead of time and frozen?  Then pop in the oven again when ready to serve?

I saw a recipe similar to this the other day. Pour shredded parmesan cheese (the kind in the green can thing) on club crackers, then wrap the crackers/cheese with bacon and bake at 250 degrees for two hours.

Please--what are club crackers?  Anything like them?

Saw the recipe before, but have not made it yet...

    Thanks

Another easy to make appetizer and full of flavor. You have to try this!
I was asked to make this appy again.
Didn't use Waverly Wafers I used Ritz Roasted Vegetable Crackers. Wow are those delicious by themselves too! I highly recommend the Ritz Crackers.

    Paula Deen's
    Bacon Crisp

    1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1 sleeve buttery rectangular crackers (recommended: Waverly Wafers)
1 pound sliced bacon cut in 1/2

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Place 1 teaspoon of the cheese on each cracker and wrap tightly with a strip of bacon. Place the wrapped crackers on a broiler rack on a baking sheet and put the baking sheets on the oven rack. Bake for 2 hours, or until the bacon is done. Do not turn. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot or at room temperature

Cook's note: You can also bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes if you're in a hurry!

Where does all the grease go?

I can't imagine eating the crackers soaked up with bacon grease?  what that would do to cholestral reading?

Couldn't they be on paper of some kind, brown for example, to absorb all those calories?

    Have a great day,

I love these--but I had never heard of the brown sugar. I am going to try that very soon.

wisconsingal, they're cooked on a rack so the grease drips out as they bake.
