ISO snack mix recipe using butter flavor oil..

I got the recipe off the old recipe board last Christmas, and now I can't find it.  I just bought the 2 bottles of Orville Redenbacher butter flavor oil, and I know it has bugles and nuts in it, but I can't remember what else, and quanties...

If you can help, I'd really appreciate it.

    TIA

I make this often... but can't locate the recipe.  I remember it had dry ranch dressing in it and goldfish, etc...  Seems it was maybe called Best Snack Mix or something like that.

Carolynn's (Scrumtious) Snack Mix by Darlene

    1 pkg Gold Fish
1 big box Chex Cereal-Mixed if possible
2 boxes Ranch Style Munch'ems (I used Ritz Baked Chips-Ranch Flavor)
    1 box Cheez-its (Reg Size)
    2 bags Combos
    1 small bag pretzels
    2 cans Mixed Nuts
    2 boxes Vegetable Thins
    1 Pkg oyster crackers

    Flavoring:
1 Bottle Orville Redenbacker Flavored Popcorn Oil
    1 Tablespoon garlic powder
    1 Tablespoon Onion Salt

    Directions:
Put all crackers and nuts in one tall kitchen bag. (I used double bags). Add
flavorings. Shake up bag to mix. Mix up to 2 or 3 times in the next 5-6 hours. This freezes very well.

Out Of This World Party Mix

    (1)x 12 Ounce Box Crispix Cereal (10 c)
(1)x 15 Ounce Box Honey Graham Cereal 13 oz 8 c) Golden Graham
    (2)x 12.25 Ounce Bags Bugles (8 c)
    (1)x Bag Pepperidge Farm Goldfish (12.5 oz- 5 c)
    (1)x 15 ounce Bag Pretzels (14 oz- 9c)
(2x) Cans Mixed Nuts (17 oz ea)
(2)x Packages Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
(2)x Bottles Orville Redenbacher Popcorn Oil (12 Oz ea)

Dump the first six ingredients into a VERY LARGE roaster. Mix the dressing mixes and popping oil in a small bowl. Pour over ingredients. Bake uncovered at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. This makes a huge amount, so you have to have a large roaster to make it in the first place.....or find something large to mix in and use two pans to bake in!

I presume you could halve the recipe, but I don't know for sure. I found this recipe in a little cookbook from an electric company I bought at a garage sale for 25 cents...WHAT A FIND!!!!!
This makes a huge amount 2 roasters.

dutchmom4MI, The first one is a bit different than what I was thinking of, but thanks, maybe I'll try this one too.  Does it really work to put it in a garbage bag?  Just seems like all the dressing/oil would stick to the bag.... not really flavor the ingredients enough???

The second one, The Out of this world mix, is just the one I was looking for. Thanks.

I have not tried either recipe.  However, both have received excellent reviews on the Board.

    Here is another one!!!

     SNACK MIX
    1 box Bugles cereal
    1 box Crispix cereal
    1 bag oyster crackers
    1 bag small pretzels
    1 bag fish crackers
1 bottle Orville Redenbacker Popcorn oil
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing (dry mix)
Place all ingredients in roasting pan, stockpot, or clean food-safe plastic tub large enough to hold all and allow for mixing. Recipe may be halved to mix in smaller batches.
Sprinkle dry Hidden Valley dressing over all, then drizzle popcorn oil over that. Stir or cover and shake to mix.
Serve or store and stir for a day or two before serving.

Yes, the second one is the one I make w/o the Golden Grahams.  You can also get a large container of popcorn oil at Sam's for cheaper.  I used it last year with great results!
