    Pink Champagne Punch

1 12-ounce bottle white grape juice
1 6-ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 16-ounce pkg. frozen whole strawberries, thawed
    1 12-ounce can lemon-lime soda, chilled
    8 cherries (optional)

Combine 1/2 of the grape juice, lemonade, and strawberries in a blender. Whirl until smooth and pour into drink container. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with remaining juice, lemonade, and strawberries. Add soda and stir well. Pour into 8 fancy plastic glasses. Add a cherry to the glass for garnish.

Variation: You can substitute regular grape juice for white grape juice.

Note: Add more soda if you want a less slushy drink. Use plastic champagne glasses; they look great and won't break.

Re: Let's get into the Spirit of the Season

Well I have been getting a lot of closets and cupboards cleaned out this week.  I hope to get them all done while I am off till the 7th.

I made Erna's recipe that she sent in the cards and I have to agree with Twinkle that it is a winner.  I had quite a bit of help from Twinkle, plus I used my kitchen scale and metric/imperial measuring cups to translate the ingredients to US measures.  If anyone wants the converted recipe I will gladly email it to you....

    sauregurke:

Sorry,I can not get rid of this one line "Oas etc.I tried a few times.

Hi Renate and all the CC friends,

Renate, don't worry about what you can't get "rid of" because we are GLAD you are here and some time down the road the bugs will hopefully get worked out. I sure don't know my way around yet nor how to do "extra stuff!!"

And I wanted to tell you some good news, although I hate to be so happy with my news when you were not able to go to CO to see your family. But here is the news....our DS called tonight to tell us that they are going to make a quick trip to see us on New Years. I could hardly believe my ears! I was so in hopes that they would come but had almost given up hope. So we will be able to exchange our gifts now and have our "Christmas supper" together! Yes!!!!! Can hardly wait now! Tomorrow I will be busy and DH will help out. DS and DD would like to have Mutti's apple pie and so I shall do my best to bake it for them. DH will help with the apples. And I want to bake some breakfast muffins for the brunch because they will leave home early and not have much breakfast. They should arrive a little bit before dinner (what some call lunch) and so I will consider it Brunch! Then we will have our Christmas Supper before they have to leave for home. It will be a short visit but better short than not at all. DD is feeling better and her tummy feels more like eating food again! Yes! So with that I better sign off and get some much needed sleep. I didn't rest very much last night. Hope tonight is better! I know I will be so excited! I'll try to peek in tomorrow but no promises, lol! I have lots to do! Wishing all a wonderful holiday!

    Alles Gute zum neuen Jahr!

Hi Germanlady! Ich wünsche Ihnen und Ihrer Familie ein recht gesundes und fröhliches Neues Jahr! (I wish you and your family a healthy and happy New Year).=========I am very, very happy for you, that your DS still will come for a visit. Enjoy the time!=============We still have to decide, when we now will drive to Colorado. So far the weather was not good enough for a trip there. Driving to a snow storm, including through Kansas, is a nightmare. My DS flew back to CT on Saturday. But the Christmas tree is still waiting for us and the pastry from here still has to go to Colorado. See you later,Renate

Re: Let's get into the Spirit of the Season

Between Erna and Renate we are all going to be learning German. lol

I wish I remembered the little bit I learned many years ago for a trip to Germany.

Sorry Renate that you have not been able to make it to Colorado yet.  But it is much better to celebrate Christmas in July, than to risk injury or worse trying to travel in bad weather. Sad

Wishing you all a happy New Year! Cake
