    White cake mix

I need to make a cake for a funeral lunch at church. I have several white cake mixes. Is there anything I can do to make a white cake different than the usual cake with frosting?

    Thanks.

White Supreme Cake with Swirls of Lemon

1 box of moist supreme white cake mix
    (18.25-oz size)
    1-1/4 cups of water
    1/3 cups of vegtable oil
    4 egg whites
    1 can((15.75-oz) lemon pie filling
Grease and flour a 13x9" baking pan

    Topping:

1 can(16-oz) Creamy supreme lemon frosting
8-oz container of cool whip, thawed

Prepare the cake mix as directed. Using the water, oil, and egg whites.
Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan. Drop the pie filling by the heaping teaspoonfuls evenly onto the batter. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350.

    Allow the cake to cool.

Combine the frosting and cool whip, blend well and spread on cake.

    This is a fabulous recipe.

Thanks!  That sounds really good.  I may just even have everything on hand.

Try and upside down cake in a cast iron skillet.  Here's one idea.....

Boil one bag of fresh cranberries for 3 minutes. Add one can of cranberry sauce to the fresh berries and let stand to cool.

Preheat oven to 350.  Place cast iron skillet in oven and melt 2 tlbs of butter.  Lightly sprinkle granulated sugar over melted butter.

Cover bottom of skillet with 1/2 of berry mixture.  Prepare box cake mix according to package instructions.  Pour 1/2 of cake batter over berries.  Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Immediately invert cake onto plate by placing plate overtop the skillet while turning the plate and skillet upside down.  Do this in a smooth motion to prevent cake from sliding off plate.

There will be sufficient berries and batter to make 2 cakes.

Jebar, I also tried it with a strawberry cake mix, strawberry pie filling, strawberry frosting with strawberry Cool Whip... Very yummy....

BTW you could just use a white cake mix for the above, too...
