    Siggies for "dummies" 101 LOL

OK, I think i'v got a tutorial we dummies can do now LOL I was at my nieces house for dinner and gift giving last night and I knew one of my cousins had a great siggy that was always in her emails to me. So as soon as she was in the door I cornered her and asked her to please teach me how to/or show me where to go to learn to do them. She promised she would send me a tutorial and as she promised, today, I recieved an email from her with this addy in it. It gives step-by-step instructions on how to make them. I have been there, but dont have time to do it right now, but I really think i can follow the instruction and make one. Here's the addy and good luck!Big Smile

Could you post those step by step directions for another dummy like me?  That would be so great.

Well, I would love to copy the instructions here, but they're too long and i cant get the pictures they are showing you out. What I did was, I copied all the pages and steps to an email/word document and printed them out. I feel I can now ( as I can follow written instructions very well) these steps/tutorial very easily. It is a bit involved to start with, but it has to be easy after you learn the steps. I just needed a step-by-step tutorial and that's what this is, with pictures. I figure if anyone else can do it, I can too! LOL

Well ladies, I wish I could copy them here, but, as you said, they are much too long and you need the pictures to follow along by. I thought they were long, but it's just because the pictures are there to show you exactly what to do. What I did was to  print all the pages out so I could follow along and I felt it would be very easy. I can, however, follow written instructions very easily, and these are really plain to me. I'm sure after i get the procedure down, it will become very easy. After all, I figure if anyone else can do it, I can too! LOL Sorry I couldnt' be of more help. I thought this was the answer. It was for me.

You're very welcome Bren, We can both thank my cousin LOL She was sweet enough to send me this addy. I have been to the photobucket forums before looking for a good tutorial, but could never find one that told me exactly what to do and when to do it. I really think this is the best place i've been to to learn. Good luck and let me know how it goes. I have to get some housework done, got company coming and it's a wreck! But as soon as everything calms down I'm gonna drag my instructions out and make a glittering siggy! I'll be looking for yours too.Stick out tongueBig Smile

    • Good for you!
    •
      • If you have your pictures in photo bucket there are a few different ways you can post them here.....just a few ways I know.

Go to photo bucket and right click on the photo -- click on "copy" when the new window opens....come tback to this board -- click on the window you have here for the reply -- right click, again, when the new window opens click paste (you can also click Ctrl and the V on the keyboard) both work.

You can click on the HTML button (above, by the spell check button), copy the HTML in photo bucket.....paste in the "new" open window and post.

You can click on the Insert/edit image above (looks like a tree, to me, next to the smiley face). In photo-bucket you will see (under your picture/siggy) IMG....copy that and place in the "image URL" in the window you opened when you click on the tree and post.

You can also go to photo bucket.....find the picture/siggy you want....put your cursor on the picture...left click and "drag" it into this window -- I'll tell you right now -- this can be tricky!

    • Good luck to all!

Do you know of any web sites that have free siggies we can copy?  I would never get the hang of making my own.  I've seen some really pretty ones on the board, but I have no idea where to find them.  Thanks, OpalluSmile

Re: Siggies for "dummies" 101 LOL

Deonia!  Thank you so much for this information.   I've been having a blast learning how to do this...take a look!.....

Next I want to learn how to put my screen name on to other images.

Opallu....I googled things like free siggies, free animations and you'll get a whole lot of websites that offer these things for you to snag.  I've been filling up my photobucket with lots of them.  Good luck and don't be afraid to try these instructions!  I still have a lot to learn, but this is a good start.  Have a great evening!

    Making siggies

You need to have an image editing program that allows you to create graphics and save them as JPEGS and/or GIFS. The most common programs are:

    * Jasc Paint Shop Pro ( PSP)

    * Adobe Photoshop ( PS)

Microsoft Picture It! is also an often used program. You can use use any image editing program that allows you to save your finished creations as JPEGs and/or GIFs.

What next? One of the easiest ways to learn is by using tutorials. You can find tons and tons of tutorials online by using a search engine and running a query for "Paint Shop Pro Tutorials", "Adobe Photoshop Tutorials", etc. You can also look for tutorials for your specific program version (i.e. "Adobe Photoshop 7 Tutorials")

Another important tool is your Help File. All of these programs have a help file that is there just to answer simple questions that you might have, like how to resize an image or insert text.

And there are many on the BB that can help with any problem or questions you have.
