    Happy New Year CS's Chat

    Good “Almost” Morning!!
    Photobucket
I could tell by the post yesterday most of us are real late-night party animals!! NOT!! As you can tell by my post yes me and my hot chocolate did make it to midnight!! Sorry I can not say the same for Emily and Shorty!! Shorty did NOT like the fireworks that were set off early or late for that matter. He is under his dad’s desk shaking! Emily is sleeping peacefully!!

Ce and I missed everyone at the party last night in chat!! She and I chatted for awhile and we caught up on all the gossip for the board!! Sandy-Ce also tells me you stopped by for awhile too. BTW she tells me new siggy classes start Jan 7 at Delphi so if you are interested email Ce. If you need her email please let me know!!!

Thought for the Day-An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.-Bill Vaughan

Today is New Years' Day. It is a time to relax and enjoy the start of a bright and promising new year....a new beginning. It is a time to be with family.

So, enjoy everything about New Year's....it only comes once a year.

Did you make a New Year's resolution? Millions of people do. It's easy to make resolutions, and often much harder to accomplish them.

As you get well into January, those unaccomplished New Year's resolutions hang over your head. Lucky for you, there is a Ditch New Year’s Resolutions Day!!!
br> Filling the basket with hugs and prayers

Special hugs and prayers for Gat and Jeanette, Mabel and Floyd, Grace, Sally, Randi and her mom, Tippy and her mom, and Anne.

Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

Speak for yourself, Zora.  I've found that the older I get, the later I can stay up.  You see I have no trouble staying up.  My daughter and her two kids live with me.  Along with a dog and 3 cats.  Most days the only quiet time or time I feel I have totally by myself is after everybody else is asleep.  It's my favorite time of the day..........errrr.........night.

I can stay awake at night............I just sometimes have a hard time getting up in the morning!  And do any of you remember your parents nodding off in their rocking chairs in the middle of the day?  I find myself doing that if I have a day off work sometimes.  I also find myself waking up with the rest of the family staring and grinning at me........creepy feeling!  LOL  Now I know how my Mom felt when I used to do that to her.......foolish!  You really do reap what you sow, don't you?  LOL  But I love my naps!

I wish peace and contentment for all in the coming new year.

    HAPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Floyd woke me up this morning with "I don't have my 6 AM pills."    I fill his pill boxes for him once a week...guess I forgot today starts his week!   Jumped out of bed and filled them all for the week.  I did mutter, "couldn't you have told me yesterday that you were running out?"

We didn't get 6" of snow yesterday, we got 8", I had just shoveled enough for the PT to get his car in our driveway, when our neighbor came over with his snowblower and finished it for me.   And today we are suppose to get another 12"!   We had the seventh most snowiest December ever with 31.6".(our average for December is 12.8") and it looks like January is going to continue!   Have no place to go today, so Music"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" Music

I actually saw the ball drop in New York City, all these years I've fallen asleep just before!   Guess I'm getting old, cause I didn't think it was all that spectacular, guess you had to be there.

Hope the New Year is good to all of you, especially those in pain.

    Mabel

I woke up at 6 to the sound of pouring rain so the paper can stay outside until it quits.  I went to bed at my usual time but woke up at 12 when my neighbors set off firecrackers.  Now I have to practice writing 2008.  Maybe I will put decorations away.   Hope all of you have a great day.  Nancy B.

    Good Morning Friends!

The Happiest of New Year's to you ALL!!

It never ceases to amaze me at how wonderful people are!! Fully intended to throw myself a pity party last night, but...........
That was not to be!! First Carol and the kids came and stayed for a while, after they left I put my pj's on and was working on tax papers when I heard a car door slam!! A couple of friends decided I shouldn't be by myself so they came calling! We had a a great visit! I am so lucky to have such a caring and loving group surrounding me, and I'm thankful for each and every one! YOU included!

Back to working on the year end stuff today then off to my brothers this evening for black-eyed peas and turnip greens!! Wishing you ALL a beautiful day!

    Hugs,
    Anne

Good morning, . Critter and Company are back home, so I can sit with my coffee and visit with you this morning. I can offer you a cup of coffee but if you want food you will have to wait for someone else or for me to go to the store. . Shorty, Daisy is offering to hold your paw until the trauma of the fireworks is over. She is losing her hearing a bit with old age, so she doesn’t lose any sleep these days. We just turn of the TV and keep the doors shut. Although she agrees, she thinks that your mama’s lap would be a better place to hide. . Sorry I missed the party last night, I was just flat too pooped to pop a cork. The couch beckoned and I answered the beck. If I remember right the last time I tried to get in I had problems…will try again one of these days. . Hi RegGram, don’t think I met you yet. I’m the quiet shy one on the board. It is great to have you with us, and boy can I relate to the naps in the afternoon. But they sure do re-energize you! . Oh Mabel!! Too much snow for this little ole hothouse Rosie. Please be careful and don’t overdo on the shoveling. Giggling at you mumbling…I would be doing the same. . NanB, with the debit card, online banking, charge cards etc. remembering to write the new year takes me longer since I don’t write it 50 times the first day or two. There won’t be anything in the paper worth running out in the rain for, cuddle up with a cup of coffee/tea/cocoa and read a trashy novel instead. . Anne, maybe you have such nice friends because you are so nice yourself??? That was sweet of them to drop by. Now if they had just handled the tax stuff for you it would have been perfect! . Will continue to find floors today under layers of peanut butter, chocolate, drooled candy, juice, milk, cheese, and who knows what else. Then we can start the cleaning process. Pork chops, rice, glazed carrots and black eyed peas for dinner. . Hugs and prayers to each of you because YOU are loved. . Rosie

I know that I made it to 11:30 when the neighbors came and threw their fireworks into my yard near the front door. Spent some time out in the cold calming my frightened mare from the continuing explosions all around us.

    ---------------------------------------------

Dark, dark, dark when I went out for the newspaper. A slice of moon glowing softly high overhead. Porch light glaring harshly as it dispelled the darkness in it's yellow path. Cold. I hustled back to the welcoming warmth of indoors and my waiting coffee pot.

16*, the weather man said it feels like 9* due to the 65% humidity and to reach 48*.

I wish each of you a happy, new beginning for this newborn year.

    2008

There, now I have written it once and gotten it right!  Actually I did write it once before as i had to use it in my web page but that wasn't the same.

I cheated last nite and watched the ball come down New York time and went to bed at 11:30 our time.  I'm the resident night owl but for some reason have been tired lately. Even with my naps.

Hi to Reggram, I'm Beth living down here on the Texas Mexico border. I'm a transplant from Mn. but love it here. Married 50 years to my dh with 3 kids, 13 grands and 3 greats.

Hoping I can find a grocery store open today as I am out of bread and a few other things.

Zora, I will be getting in touch with Ce for siggy classes.  They fascinate me.

Nothing planned for today.  Have all my Christmas stuff down and put away but if I have to I could clean, NOT.

It's cold, dreey, looking like rain out, not a good thing for my winter depression. If I was still in Mn. I would say it was going to snow but even tho it is cold it is still only 63 out there.

Need to go find my hot chocolate.  TTYL

    Beth

Good Morning to all of you ...

It's a NEW YEAR - 2008 !! WOW ... last year went so fast for me as I had 2 of my 3 children graduate. My youngest graduated from HIGH SCHOOL in MAY and my oldest son graduated from COLLEGE & decided to continue on with his education which made me proud.  And, so I have all 3 of my children in college & doing well.  I have a lot of things to look forward to this next year ... TRYING to get off the last of my 15 - 20 POUNDS, watching my oldest son get married in August, meeting my daughter's boyfriend & having him here with us at the house for 2 weeks.  So, it's going to be busy.  I am planning on making HEALTHY MEALS for us and do my best to make sure to STICK WITH IT !!  Also ... I am wanting to exercise at least 4 days a week.  So, be sure to ENCOURAGE ME & KEEP ME GROUNDED so that I can stay on track & reach my GOALS !!

So, I gotta go and get some housework done and start my marinade for the CHICKEN for dinner tonight so see you all again soon

Happy New Year Everyone!!!  I crashed last night at 10:30.  DH told me I was snoring.  I was sitting in my recliner and had been crocheting.  He woke me at 10:30 and said go on to bed.  I had taken my anti-imflammatory(sp) pill because my knee was hot and swollen.  Not much cartledge left and when walking lots it swells.

Alright, who took my navy beans?  We bought some Sat and now can't find them.  Will run up to the store in a bit to get another bag.  I'll probably find the first bag later today.  LOL

Hugs and Prayers for all.  Roberta

    Good morning, CS.

I saw the ball come down, also. Seeing I did one of the recliner naps like some others, I woke up just before midnight. But, just a quiet night around us, no fireworks.

A quiet day at home, and Russell is taking me out to dinner to start the New Year. BTW, he just turned the TV on for me to watch a Tom and Jerry cartoon. It is one of my favorites where it is a piano concert and Tom is playing Liszt's Second Hungarian Rhapsody, with Jerry's help, of course. That piece was music for several other cartoons, also. We actually heard lots of classical music when we watched cartoons in our younger years.

    Wishing all a great 2008.

    Nancy Z.
