    Canadian Corner 03/01/08

    Good Morning CC Friends

We got  more snow last night and its cold. Hope all the aminals found some place warm.

Going to clean out some closets today to keep my mine off food. LOL

Suppose to work but got cancelled, maybe he looked out the window and knew this is not good weather for me to drive in. LOL

Got laundry going and veggie quiches going in the oven for breakie. YUM

Unbelievable, I can smell the smoke outside my door when I picked up the paper. The Hallways have be cleaned but I think its coming from inside their apt because they probably don't have stripping around the door and some is seeping out.

Hope you all have a nice day-be safe is going out - PEI and Halifax are really getting hammered with snow - 3 storms in a week they said on the news. I hope you all have snowblowers.

     Morning time

I'm off and running again this morning.  The temperatures have risen, was windy for kids drive from Wpg last night.  They debated stopping midway back, but carried on. They head west later this morning.  Bread is waiting their departure Laura.

The holiday seaon is offically over for me when they leave and I can reclaim MY life.  Maybe I'll get things back in order by month's end.  My January calendar is stuffed now and more comes at me each day.

Have a great day and good wishes to those following healthy eating plans.

    Good Morning Crea and Friends,

We didn't get anymore snow overnight, yesterday we got about 4" the maritimes are really getting dumped on with lots of snow. Last night I spoke with my SIL they live between Ottawa ans Montreal, she said that since the beginning of December they have received 150cm of snow which is 5 feet. They have no more room to shovel the snow.

I read that the friendliest place in Canada is......Moncton NB.   Way to go Moncton!!!!

Crea, good for you to start your diet, I have to lose some extra pounds as well. I'm trying but it is hard. Especially during the evening, what else do we do but nibble.

Many birthday wishes Char to your DD and Meesh your DS, I have a DGD who's birthday is the 20th this month.

Char that is unsual for you not to have anything to say...LOL

Eija, good for you to lose weight during the Christmas Holidays

Working a full day today, 2 homes.

The price of oil went up to a $100. a barrel so brace yourself for a increase again and again. I think I will have to get a moped (Think that is what they are called).

Katie that must have been quite a soapy situation, they was enough soap to clean everything. The more water you add the more soap suds.

BRB have to have a coffee.

Pat - the partying just continues into the New year at your house. LOL I'm sure you will be glad when it is all overwith.

YF- I know you never get much snow. Have a good work day and be careful. Ype we are going to be paying big time for gas and as long as there is unrest in some of the countries it is not going to get any better.

Good Morning Pat,  Crea and all the others so far and ones to come.

I've been very busy with my dear company from AB and other DFs. I'm looking forward to meeting your DD,  Pat.  Your famous spelt bread will be on our menu today,  at last.  Can't wait to taste it again.  It's so yummy with that ancient grain flour, spelt.  I think,  another time,  I would like to get some flour from you and see if I can work some flavor into some of my recipes.

I heard from our DD in NC last night.  We were out,  but she left a message, saying that the water had become a block of ice.  Another DF also said that his part of NC was so cold too.  Up here in Canada,  we're used to ice and snow,  but those in NC find it unbearable when it dips below freezing (32'F).

So today  I meet Pat's DD,  and tomorrow DH and I get to have lunch with Meesh and Dolores.  I'm looking forward to meeting Meesh's DD and DS too. Wow.....it will take me days to get over all this excitement.  Everyone here on CC truly are a wonderful group of friendly personalities.

I was up early this morning getting my internet services provider to give me some assistance with a problem. It had to do with my password to get into the 'message center' when spam and junk was sent.  I happened to log off (by accident) and it wouldn't let me log back in.  It took a while for their 'expert' to fix the problem.  It's all OK now. It's sure frustrating when you need a special brain to use the computer.  I think I know more now than when I first started using the computer....but I still have so much more to learn.  Just as long as I know how to get to the CC-BB,  I'll be happy.   Still can't get rid of my "X- box" in upper left corner of my messages.  I'll just have to wait until an expert can help me.    smile

All you gals are cleaning cupboards,  pantries, closets...... is this your Spring Cleaning already?  I guess I should do some of that too now while there are still a few 'empty hours' on the calandar.

Must go now and start my day.  It's 6:15 am now.

Crea, Katie, Pat & Laura, very  busy gals cleaning everything in sight. André is good at doing closets, he did his and it looks great. He even used the same colour of hangers for his clothes. He did mine as well. He is a neat freak and very mediculous about whatever he does. Whenever we are in a waiting room for an appointment, he straightens the magazines in a neat orderly fashion.

I know many of you are sick of the snow but don't yell at me...I love the white stuff, it makes everything look so beautiful clean and fresh.

Here is a picture for you to look at.

How the heck do you expect me to sleep with all that banging around and yak, yak, yakking? Sheesh! Have a heart.

I wrenched my back the other day, and it's killing me. Now accepting expressions of sympathy, if you don't mind.

It's supposed to be "warm" here today but with a really stiff wind so it won't seem warm at all. Drat. Warm again tomorrow and through the weekend. Yay!

We already have two inches more snow this season than we did last. Nooooooooo! At least we can just look at it and not have to move any around. The new folks in our house say they have made good friends with Brutus and they're all pals now. Okay!

Hi to all who have comne on and will come on later!!  Don't know how cold it is outside as I haven't ventured out yet.  It's only 6:30 am.

DIL's niece is now in Winnipeg waiting to have her baby (who my DS and DIl are adopting it from).  They left this morning and we are Dog sitting.  Our cat will stay upstairs and the dog downstairs.  The cat hates the dog.  Hope this baby comes very, very soon (like today) as I will have gone  crazy soon with these animals.

I made that Cherry Pound Cake the other day and I found out you don't use Maraschino cherries.  It was very moist.  It was very good and I didn't even get to take any home.  Going to make another today to take to work tonight.

I am going to start cleaning in the Computer room to get rid of a lot of clutter.  We want to paint, new baseboards  and put laminate flooring in.  Get rid of that carpet.

Better go get my coffee and check on those animals.

Morning Crea and all other CC friends. Havn't been on the BB for a few days. Been kinda busy digging out after yet another snow storm. One of our cars won't start, not sure what's wrong with it. Probably frozen. It's a nice sunny day here but -8. Way to cold for me.

Hope everybody enjoyed New years day. Our family all went to my parents place for dinner. Had a great time.

Crea, how's your sick friend doing?

Hope everybody has a great day. Please be careful when out and about!
