    Re: Canadian Corner 03/01/08

just popped back with my second cup of coffee. how nice that you gals are getting together!

my trip to london is looking sad. Sad

all my kids are planning to go up for my GS  second birthday party. which is really nice, but leaves us in the dilema of " how can we go with nobody here to stay with our dogs"

we are now talking about going up the weekend after the party......let the kids have their fun together.  my kids are all best friends. so be it. we can still enjoy a visit a week later. i really cannot afford to take time off work either.  when the new baby arrives, i will be going for a week, early part of april.

sometimes being a mom is tricky business!!!Huh?

my DH is  a neat freak, but he cannot part with anything!! makes for a fun time cleaning. i am back to work next monday, so i am trying to get some much needed cleaning done now.

we had a little snow over night, and they say we are getting 70 km winds tonight! i love the wind, i sleep so well. lol

anyway, time to get my butt in gear.  everyone sounds busy. i hope you all have fun meeting tomorrow!  i hope that YF and i can click someday in the city with Crea.

no sun today? my dust bunnies are hiding again!! lol  gotta love it!!

    catch you later~

    Good Morning Everybody!

I'm spending the day on the couch today!   Don't go getting excited or anything - I'm just calling blood donors all day!  LOL  It's a windy one here today so spending the day wrapped up in a blanket sounds wonderful to me!  LOL

YF - Do you share Andre and his cleaning services?  He & I would get along swimmingly!  LOL

    Enjoy your day everybody!

OMG Yooper - wrenched the back, heaven forbid all the time you were in the house never heard a peep about wrenching back and you ran brutus. My deepest sympathy to you. get better soon.

Sharon - unless aminals have always been together, cats are so territorial I'm not surprised the two don't get along.

Marny - I feel sorry for you with all that snow. Hopefully you are expecting some milder weather like we are by the weekend .

Katie not many days till back to work. Geez now you got Dave working hard again. I thought he would appreciate some rest after the holiday spree.

Paulette, sound nice and cozy today. Glad to hear you are doing something laying on the couch other than being under the weather. Had me worried there for a minute, you are not a couch potato. LOL

ooooooooooo, this is NOT good, my big plan is crumbling before my very eyes!  DH is going to be home today!  GRRR!  Now I'll have to sit at the kitchen table instead as he'll be planted on his chair watching TV today and I'm SURE that he's not going to appreciate me calling donors 5 feet away from him.  GRRR!  Hey, maybe I can call from my bed!  Now THERE'S a plan........and it just might work too!   LOL

Good morning! Having a family supper tonight as my sis from Ft. Mac goes home tomorrow and sis from S'toon is here. Also going to meet my dear friend and her mom  with my mom and sis & nephew for coffee. It is her mom's b'day today so I got a cake with her name and Cameron's on it. We are just going to McDonald's. My friend is bringing her 4 yr. old grandson who loves Cameron too. We might even get to see her newest GS. That would be so exciting! Looking forward to tomorrow too, meeting Laura and her DH &  Dolores  and her GD. Have a great day all!

Morning All!  It looks like a picture postcard out there right now. Had a couple of inches overnight and it is snowing now those big fluffy, lacy flakes.  Been out to the chiropracter already this morning.  Been having pains up and down both legs again.  Had to race home to wait for another phone call from the fridge repairman.  Now he is coming between 1 and 4 this afternoon.  Thought the part they replaced last time was working but DH found the carrot bag frozen to the crisper Mon. night.  He talked to the warranty people yesterday and was told to call them right after the repairman leaves and they will set in motion a plan for us to get a new fridge.  That's ok as long as I can have something besides GE!!!!!!!!  It's like leasing a car.  We get a fridge, use it for 3 years and then everything goes wrong with it and we get a replacement.  Thank goodness for extended warranties.  Guess DD and I will go out to Timmies for breakfast with our new quick pay cards and then get shopping done before lunch. Hope everyone has a great day!

Wendy - I'm really worried - how come you are having pains up and down the legs? Does the Chiro help? You and DD have a good time out. the weather is the pits here. Going to shovel the car out now, even though I'm not going anywhere, I need my spot to look clean and neat. Don't do it if I'm going out because someone takes it on me.

Wendy I think they need to replace the fridge, heaven forbid you have had enough problems with it. GE and Black and Decker stuff is the pits now. Years ago it was the best.

Morning everyone. Still getting used to these new glasses of mine. I am getting headaches, but I think that is because of my neck!

Off to Safeway to shop for the seniors today. I think it could be a bit busier as it was the Thursday before Christmas that we did it last.

Other than that will come home and do the same old, same old. Cleaning, laundry, cooking...that is my life..but I love it!

    Have a great day all

    well, morning all y'll!

it's been awhile, but i finally belong to the land of the living...  this was one whopper of a cold/flu we had, really took it's toll.  i still feel weak for crying out loud. but good news is, that everyone is on the fast track mend--- i even got to sleep in my own bed for the first time in almost two weeks!  between sleeping on the floor in the office next to the kids, then the couch, then not being able to get off the couch, i almost forgot what my room looked like!  well, life will go on.

isnt amazing though, how the house can literally fall apart the second you are down and out? i wont even go into details, but lets say i think that even the animals are glad that i am back upright, although i think the fish are dead.... i'll have to see what i can do about that one later.

well, i'm off to go flake out on the couch for a few, head is still a little shakie, and then i have to start cleaning the house, and maybe try doing some laundry (since i am the only one capable of turning the darn thing on, there are piles bigger than the children starting to grow, and if they get any bigger someone is going to go missing!)

i'll be back later, i think my coffee is finally done

    Coffee Good Morning, everyone!!!

Snow and cold this week....next week, almost record highs??? Crzay weather.

prairielily, try another pic in the avatar, see if it works, then try the original one again. Tinkering often seems to work.

Good luck to those of you down east.....wow... anyone booked must be happy with itravel2000, or whatever they're called. They sure had to give away a lot of free trips this year!

Amazing, YF, isn' it?....oil that high...I heard one of the top CTV anchors say that oil barrels were at almost $100 (last week) I thought, WOW, the barrels cost the same as the contents?? When will these people learn to speak clearly...they did, at one time...sigh. When will they get in gear with the hydrogen fuels, and with properly extracting from the oil-sands? Or have I missed something in the convoluted politics of that situation?

Has anyone done the 3 cups of green tea a day regime? I wonder if that really is all that beneficial in health and weight loss.  I've always got some around, as I just happen to like it.        I keep forgetting to start the day with a piece of fruit or two, but I had some this morning and it feels so good. I have got to remember to keep adding more veggies, too. What small changes are the CCers doing to make things a bit better this year? (whether diet or activities) You are all so very busy, I can't imagine how you can possibly do anything more without exploding!

Eija, I hope the glasses problem solves itself soon. I'm a migraineur, and spent most of my teen years in agony, much of it due to problems with my eyes. That pain, like so much pain, can be so debilitating!

c_oo_kie, I now know that I had that flu for about a week. I so rarely get laid out from anything, and it didn't do anything but sap my energy, but GEEZ, the dizzy head was downright scary. I cannot imagine being hit so bad by it. It seems that most of the country saw some of that flu across Christmas. I understnad there's another one on it's way from Britain, that's not so long lived, but is not much fun, either. Please, everyone, eat properly and get your sleep. We need to keep up that resistance!

Crea, I tried something here, about responding to messages in the thread. I open one tab in IE, open the thread to the first Good Morning, click on respond, then open another tab that shows me the thread and all it's contributions. I can read one, respond in the response window, go back to the other tab, read the next, return to the response....etc...I just don't always remember to respond to them all!!! LOL ...so, I can be ditzy.

Everyone have a good day, and watch out for those backs, knees, and anything else, when shovelling, or walking about!
