    Re: Canadian Corner 03/01/08

So this is what morning looks like, I had rather forgotten!  Drat it felt early!  Still feels early, but the boss was kind and let us slowly break ourselves in again, DH didn't need to start till 8:45, phew!!

GrammaY, my deepest sympathies for being woke up by all this yaking.  How do you think I feel living in the last time zone?  After 4AM, forget sleep, these gals are yaking up a storm!!

So what happens if you meet a fellow CC'r and find out you don 't like them?  I might meet Cookie this summer, what if I don't like her, should I tell her that, or should I fake it?  Hehe!!

As for being out of words yesterday, I will try to make up for it today!! Hehe!!

Sharon, so you are going to be a grandma any day now?  How exciting!

Katie, our DH are alike, in neat and can't throw out, so the other day, when cleaning up in my laudry room, when he looked at somthing and didn't know what it was, and it landed in the garbage, I think my jaw hit the floor!!  That is strange seeing him throw somthing out "I might need it one day" is his motto.

Mrs. Gerkle, enjoy the couch and blanket, you deserve it, to bad you had to share it with a phone!  Oh-Oh!!  Just read your DH is home , welcome to my world, throws everything off for an entire day!!  Grrr, at least your DH must not mind if you come to the computer, I told my DH to STOP making me feel guilty every time that I go to the computer.  Then he proceeds to tell me he wished he was the computer so he could have my undivided attention!!  Then I proceeded to tell him it doesn't have my undivided attention, as I listen to my kids, talk to them, and still think and answere phones, and think up menus, ect, he is totally CLUELESS on how moms work, undiveded attention indeed, HA!

Cookie, sick or not, you still got that sense of humour I have come to love!  Welcome back to the land of the living, even if it's not fully evolved yet!  So glad to have you here again.

Viola, the way you respond to the threads is the way I been doing it too, the only way to remember what's going on!

YF, DD was so excited all day about her birthday.  We gave her a tea tray on wheels, so of course she was serving everyone tea, as her grandparents got her a thing of 100 pieces of General Mills food, so let the fun begin!  I think all six little girls will have so much fun today at the birthday party.  Six little girls in frilly little dresses.  I will be taking pictures and posting them some time soon.  The cake is done, it's cute, but I sure am no pro!  No denying that!  I made a Care Bear, and for some reason, I made the tummy pink, and the tummy on ALL Care Bears are ALWAYS white, LOL, opps!!  Oh well, she loves it anyway, just had a brain fart(that's what I was told to call it, sorry)

Okay, this long post just made up for a few missed days, wouldn't you say so?

Yup, Yahoo IM, even Bakerfreek was having problems, so I am guessing it is Yahoo, and not just me.

Speaking of all this healthier you and weight loss and such.  I am part of that group!  Nothing major, but more fiber, more water, and get out more!  I want to lose a few pounds, but have to be very careful, as for once in my life, I finally have a few "womanly" curves!!  I worked hard to get them, I'm not going to lose them now!  When I was younger, at work the gals would bug me about having no butt, they said they were going to buy me butt enhancers!  They never did, but I could have used them! LOL, finally got a few curves after three kids.  Now I want to lose them???

CBC: The Week the Women Went

    Hardisty, AB

It starts on Jan 21, and it looks like it's a series. And I WORK Monday nights!!!

Am I the only one who fantasizes about this? Oh, I would love to be a fly on the wall, the way that show will be!...Does anyone else? Every time I see the ad, the imagination starts to reel...

Does anyone have any tales of when they were absent, and how the hosehold survived, or didn't?

    Re: Canadian Corner 03/01/08

Ahhhhhhhhhh.. I am done with work for at least the next 89 days! I had a great day yesterday, I cleaned out all 3 of my portable bars, threw anything out that wouldn't keep till April and organized all my stuff.  Did an inventory of my locked bar, so I know what I have to work with in the spring when I go back and know what drink recipes I can search for using the ingredients that I have....good thing liquor doesn't go bad lol, cause my bar is totally stocked and waiting for me to come back.

I was the last one to be layed off,and it was a bittersweet day for sure.  One part of me will miss my co-workers so much, and the other part of me is glad for a break, to recharge my batteries for the spring.  One thing I sure won't miss, is the driving in bad weather! I really can't do it! I get so stressed out, it's ridiculous!

I've already started my vacation, and declared it a pajama day! It's almost 4 pm and I still have my pjs on, and I don't intend to get out of them ! Slept in till 7..and did diddly squat today, and I don't feel guilty at all! Tomorrow is the work like a dog day, getting most things Christmas put away.  I love to leave a tiny bit out so I can enjoy the Orthodox Christmas this weekend, we call it the little Christmas.

Being of Russian descent, I think it's in my blood to want to make cabbage rolls and celebrate this little Christmas! I'll also make an Italian Christmas treat for DH, a regional thing we call Easter Pizza lol.  I'll give you a fast recipe for it...on the fly.

2 cans of Pilsbury pizza dough

    1 dozen eggs

half a pond of raw bacon

half a pound of Black Forest ham

half a pound of raw pea meal bacon

1 large piece of No Frills mozzerella

1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese

    6 slices of procutto ham

    1 tsp parsley

Beat eggs and add parmesan cheese, parsley and a bit of salt and lots of pepper. Set aside. Lightly oil a medium sized springform pan. This is the hardest part, open one can of pizza dough and gently stretch it so it covers the inside of the pan and up the sides, and over the edge.  Layer the entire bottom and sides of the pan with slices of Black Forest ham, then a layer of sliced Mozzerella, top with about 1/2 inch of egg mixture.

Next layer is raw bacon slices, completely covering the first layer, then another layer of sliced mozzerella, and push it all down so the egg mix is coming up, add more egg mix to make it about half inch.

Next layer is proccuto ham, more sliced Mozzerella, and push down.

Next layer is raw Pea meal bacon.. more sliced Mozzerella  and more egg mixture.

Keep going till either the pan is filled or you run out of ingredients. Leave an inch at the top free, and then roll out the other can of Pillsbury Pizza dough, stretch it and cover the top of this pie, cut off the extras, and tuck into the side wall.  Brush with egg wash. Put this on a cookie  sheet with sides, cause it almost always runs over as it cooks, which is a good thing ;) gives you a great previwe of how good it will taste lol!

oops, I forgot to say to bake this about 250-275 for about 2 hrs lol.......see! I am really taking a mental break. and forgot the most important part!

We let it totally cool and slice it like a pie the next day. nuke it for a few seconds, just to bring it back to a bit warmer than room temp, and I love some homemade chili sauce with it!

Hugs Viola.... I never said it was diet food! Devil This is a regional Italian treat that is normally made on Good Friday, when you can't eat any meat.  This is the food to break the fast when you wake up starving and craving meat  lol.  We make it for  Easter and Christmas.. only cause it tastes so darn good! We still call it Easter Pizza, no matter when we make it!

Well, all the kids are home now, or at least gone from my house!  What a bunch of giddy five year old girls!  Wow, they sure can get noisey when Zack decides to bug them!  Poor boy, eight girls and he the only boy, is every boys dream when a little bit older though!

Hey booze ladie!!(I like that name) I have never seen someone serving alcholol in a alchohol store, is this like a sampling center, and do you get to use whatever you want to serve customers?  I have only been in two alchole stores, shoot, I can't even spell that word, much less drink most of it!

I am downloading some pictures of today, maybe I can share them after I get them onto my photobucket site.
