Mac from my last name. When DH and I got married, right away some friends called me Mrs. Mac, so just stuck that in there.  And then of course I live in Washington so I added that.  Pretty simple.lol

frutosefree- Angel is actually part of my name, so not too much creativity there!  I usually can be found on Critter Chat which is on the Kitchen Chat bb.  Don't run away......I know KC doesn't have the best reputation!LOL  I know who to avoid, bite my tongue and usually only stick to the lighter topics over there.  I like Recipes also, but I can only cut and paste so many of those.  There are a lot of nice people on the KC bb.  Stop by Critter Chat sometime...we love sharing stories and pictures of our babies.  Have a nice evening

I think having this post is a great idea! I love crafts; all kinds. But, I'm a master at none of them. lol I love to crochet.  I've only done dish cloths, scarves and blankets. I know the basic stitches and that is it. (hope to expand my horizens.)

I love to make scarves for the girls and I with the fun fur. I use Lions Brand Home Spun together with the fun fur and boy does that work up nice. I'm pretty sure there were times when I've missed a stitch or so and with the two of them together it was impossible to tell.

Right now I'm crocheting a small throw for when we are just on the couch and I'm using Lions Brand Chenille. Chenille is my new love! lol It is so thick and soft and seems to work up fast. Just wish I would've had more of the Main color that I'm using.

I've done cross stitch but just small projects. I really do not think I would have the patience to do a very large project. Though someday I may try.

I'm looking for very EASY baby blanket directions for crocheting if anyone has one.

I make the fun fur scarves too.  I haven't tried them with the Home Spun, I usually just use a medium weight complimentary yarn.  Aren't they warm?  I just love them.  My new favorite fun fur color is chocolate.  I found it at Wal Mart of all places. 

If you are looking for some easy patterns, try lion brand's website.  They have a lot of free patterns, especially baby items and they rank them by skill level.  I would probably call myself and "intermediate" crocheter.  I can read a pattern, but I could never create one.  I don't know how they do it.

Chocolate sounds like a beautifull color.

lol t he lionbrand website is where I got the pattern for the throw I'm making now. They really do have lots of patterns there. Have you ever crocheted a sweater?  I would love to be able to knit just so I could make the sweaters. As a matter of fact, I'm planning on taking a knitting class eventually at Michaels. Of course I also want to take tole painting and all the other classes they teach! lol

I work there and most of my paycheck goes right back into that darn store! I just can't help myself. I'm like a kid in a candy store. I buy more than I actually do. Every day, something sparkely catches my eye, or a customer gives me a great idea and bam, I HAVE to go buy something on the way out the door..... lol   Maybe I should consider working somewhere else? Nah..

Hey Shadow:  I used to work part time at Hancock's Fabrics.  Big Mistake!  I got to see all the new fabrics that came in.  All the new patterns.  All the new gadgets.  Yep, almost all of my paycheck (small as it was) went to purchases.  It got to the point I was spending more than I was making!  LOL.

I love knitting sweaters.  For my DH, for my kids, for me!  I crochet doillies - is that the correct spelling?  Those round things?!  I can't believe I do that, what with that tiny thread, in the round, etc.  But I do!  I've crocheted a wonderful "color wheel" afgan.  It was really like a color wheel.  The segments were in triangular shape, subtly changing color until the "wheel" was complete.  I x-stitch pictures for my kids.  They like a specific scene, animal, etc.  We find a kit & off I go.  They have a lot of x-stitch pictures hung up in their rooms.

I'm so heartened to see/hear/read of all you guys loving the "Yarn Crafters".  Yes, there's only so much we can chat about our projects.  I am, right now, trying to get over Mono, courtesy of my son!  Christmas past me in a haze.  He's doing fine, I, on the other hand, need to take a nap in the afternoon or I am unable to fix dinner...and not my DH nor my 2 sons are capable of boiling water for soup!!!!   So on that note, I'm not stitching very much right now.  Another 2-4 weeks I should be back on track.  Doing the Mt Everest of laundry is my biggest challenge...we all need clean undies!!! LOL.

Hi again Shadow & cathy-

I have crocheted baby sweaters, but not adult.  I tried to teach myself to knit, with no success.  Just couldn't get the hang of it so I stick with crocheting.

I used to work at JC Penney many moons ago so I can relate to the spending the paycheck at the store thing.  I would do the same thing in a craft store.  I love looking at yarn (does that sound weird? lol).  There are so many beautiful colors.  I need to finish my chocolate scarf.  If I can get a good enough picture of it, I'll post it here.

cathy I'm glad you on the mend.  That really stinks to be sick over any holiday, but especially Christmas.

Glad I'm not the only one with mountains of laundry.  What's the point of that "small load" setting on the washer, huh?  Never use it!  Take care all, it is getting late where I live and I'm getting a serious case of the yawns!

Boy, I am right there with you as far as working someplace and leaving them money on my payday. I was a receiving clerk in a bookstore. My job was to unpack and shelf the books. Every day was Christmas, opening those boxes. So many books; so little time.  It is amazing how many books were purchased by me before they ever were seen by the public! My boss said they could never lay me off because I contributed too much to their bottom line.  When the store closed, there was an opening at Jo Ann's fabric. No Way. I knew I could not afford to work there! (Now I stay home and read) 

I don't think I could work at joanns either or a bookstore maybe the library I love to read also!!

Cookie what authors do you read? I really like mysteries but have read everything from biographies to romances.

I am at work right now urgh!! I probably shouldn't be posting but I have a lot of my work caught up.

 Yup that's why I never worked at any of those places, I left enough of my money there without working there and leaving more.  

It's nice to know we all "owed our souls to the company store".  That was a phrase I heard a lot when I worked for JC Penney.

that baptism gown is gorgeous. I have crocheted two for my grandchildren. I have also crocheted several dresses for my granddaughter and other little baby girls I have known. I have another granddaughter to be born in March so can't wait to crochet for her. I have a grandson but you don't find many patterns for little boys. Jeanette

Hi jwenzel- I think that's true, but when they're tiny babies I think you can get away with it as long as they are "boy colors".  My sons are teenagers now, so it will be awhile before I can crochet for grandbabies, but I'm looking forward to it.  I would love to see your work if you can post a picture!  Nice to "meet" you.  I have to run to work for a bit now.
