I Had to Fly to Texas today...

Last night, during rehearsal, my husband called me and told me that I had to go to texas today....just to pick up the title paper to the car that got wrecked almost two weeks ago!  He tried to have a friend get it, but she couldn't figure out how to open the key safe to get into the house..she tried, but no luck, so I had to fly here today and will pack up some more stuff and fly right home tomorrow afternoon.

Like I didn't have anything better to do!  Lucky for me, I didn't have a rehearsal today or tomorrow, but wow, I thought I could rest, or get ready for my trip to Japan next week!  Gosh, who needs sleep?  Not me!

I'm only getting over the accident, getting over a horrible case of hives (on Prednisone for that), studying music, planning trip to Japan, trying to take care of house and dogs....I really should take up a new hobby!  Ya think?  LOL

Okay, thanks for letting me vent.  I will go pack up a carton of stuff to UPS to myself tomorrow, then go out tomorrow and buy a suitcase (I didn't bring one and my DH needs his coat for Japan because he's leaving Sunday), then return the rental car and hop on a plane.  Doesn't this all sound like fun?  oh boy.....

Just had to let it out.  Thank you!  [:'(]

I could use one of these...Drinks  But I don't drink...

    Hugs to you Sharon!

Did they figure a cause for your hives? They can be so frustrating.

My job used to be like that.  "You need to go to L.A. on Monday" and this was Thursday afternoon.  Frustrating, for sure.

    Have fun in Japan!

Sharon:  Praying for travelling mercies, for the hives to go away (that could be nerves) and for everything to fall into place and for you to get some rest somewhere in the middle of all this craziness.

Sounds like you really could use a break. Sorry that you are having a rough time but it will get better and I am sure you are going to have fun in Japan. Are you all healed from the accident?

Re: I Had to Fly to Texas today...

Hi again...sorry I didn't answer anyone right away...my computer connection has problems and I just gave up.

Well, I did get a chance to ship some stuff to myself again, including my Japanese wig, which I think I can wear in the opera...so that is probably the silver lining.  BUT!

I flew to Chicago  yesterday....and the delays made me MISS MY CONNECTION and so I had to find a hotel and stay overnight WITH NO SUITCASE, only my carryon!  So there I was, after struggling to get to a hotel (and I do mean struggle, it was like a mile to walk to find the shuttle, through two underground tunnels just to get to the place to be picked up), then I had no nightgown, robe, slippers, nothing...so I just wore a towel, which was not very comfortable, or big enough either, I might add.

I had a LOUSY dinner of icky Chinese food in the airport, then decided to treat myself to ice cream..and got about half a scoop for $3.50.  Typical of the way things were going for me.

Oh something kind of funny...at first, I got into a taxi to go to the hotel (it was cold and snowing/raining....and the driver didnt know where the hotel was.  So I looked at my phone as I was calling my DH and he had text messaged me that there was a hotel shuttle.  I told the driver since he didn't know where the hotel was, to just let me out, since we hadn't gone but 10 feet.  He said he had to circle around the airport....I said I wanted to get out so I could find the shuttle.  He didn't stop, so I said, "I'm having a terrible day...I can't believe this is HAPPENING TO MEEEEEEEEE!!!"  I actually screamed the last part and you never saw anybody pull over so fast!  So, now, if you want to know how to handle a situation like that, just scream and scare the guy into letting you out!  LOL!!!!!!

I had to sleep in NOTHING, which I hate....and I had to get a wakeup call at 6am!  Had a seriously bad hair day because had no curlers or any of the crap I need for my hair, you know?  But at least it was clean.  I had luckily thrown a toothbrush in my makeup case before leaving TX, but had to go to the gift shop to buy deodorant!  Well, at least I had a super nice breakfast of eggs benedict, although it was too early to really enjoy it.

Flight from Chicago to San Jose is usually about 3 hours, but this time, due to wind, it took 4 hours and 49 minutes!!!  And did I mention I was seated in the LAST ROW (which makes me sick), and the seat didn't recline because of the wall?????  And I had forgotten my ibuprofin for my joint pain and my prednisone for my hives (getting better).  I was miserable but made the best of it by studying the very tedious parts of my opera to get some work done.

Here I am, took a nap, now trying to clean up the house a bit (DH never does but at least he washed the sheets)...I'm SOOOOO tired. I wouldn't cook dinner if you put a gun to my head!

All that, just to get the title to the car...and DH just got the new one, which is sitting in the garage right now.  I  have not one ounce of enthusiasm about it...don't care to even look at it.
