    Peanut Butter Tortilla Chips

    Hello,

I'm trying to find a recipe from ToH that called for peanut butter, corn syrup, maybe something else, and it was poured over tortilla chips. I have looked through all the magazines but I can't find it. It would have been in the issues from 2000 and under. There is a June/July 1995 issue I'm missing, and perhaps it is in there. I've also tried searching for it on the web, but I can't remember the exact name.

    Thanks for your help.

By any chance, is this it?  This was posted by StaceyK, and the comments are hers.

I thought these sounded so good. I love salty sweet things. Can't wait to try them

    Funky Frito Fruckies

10.5 ounces of Fritos corn chips
    1 C. white sugar
    1 C. light corn syrup
    1 C. creamy peanut butter
11 (5/8 oz) milk chocolate candy bars

In a greased 10x 15 pan. place the corn chips.

In a saucepan, bring the sugar and corn syrup to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.

Pour this over the corn chips and smooth it out level.

Place the chocolate bars in a single laver over the hot mixture. Place under a broiler for 2 minutes, then smooth the chocolate out to form a thin layer.

Allow to cool and then break into pieces.
