I got the Green Pan cookware set

This stuff is awesome!   Ceramic, not non stick embedded or coated.  Can take the high heat for searing meats and not have any chemicals breaking down from the non stick which releases in high heat.  I have found no food that sticks to these pans.  None.  It's like food is cooked on a layer of snot! LOL

I saw the presentation yesterday on HSN...it looked so interesting...but I have so many things now- a lot of them new- that I didn't reach for the phone. ( That was some hard job! Wink )

Good luck...I hope your pan works well for you!

Sounds great! I saw the presentation on HSN as well, and it really caught my attention. Was impresssed for a variety of reasons. I did a search and found some interesting reviews, both pro and con. Would really appreciate another review from you after you have used it for awhile, maybe in a couple months?

I have heard of this cookware and thought about getting it, was wondering if it was any good or not.  Have the set of cookware from QVC, which is Cook's Essential and I like the cookware, but it will still stick.  They say that it will stand using the metal utensils, but I had to send some skillets back to them, because I bought them in 2006, and they stuck. I sure hope the cookware works for you and good luck with them.  Will check later and see in a couple of months if you still like them......Big Smile

The one reason I bought them is my neighbor has had a set for almost a year now.  No food sticks on hers and she isn't gentle with them at all. She was heating milk and forgot it, the milk burned and the burned milk wiped out with a paper towel. I burned milk in my stainless pot and had to let it soak and then scrub it several times to get it out.   I'll post in a few months how the cookware preforms with everyday cooking and baking.

This stuff could be dangerous!  It's so slicky the food almost jumps out of the pan.  I have been using them everyday. I baked in the big skillet today, my cornbread slid right out of the pan, like it was liquid.  I'll keep the post udated as time goes by.

    LOL!

    Glad your enjoying it.

I'll be watching for your updates. Maybe at some point I'll be able to talk DH into a set ;-)

HomestyleAR...what is the brand name of the cookware that you purchased.  I went to HSN and did a search for ceramic cookware and only baking dishes from various different sources showed up.  No sets at all.  Thanks  I'm very interested in this cookware.

Look under Todd English  greenpans. They now have saucepans & griddles as well as the skillets.   My grown daughter calls these the "2 spatula" pans because you have to hold the food still with one and scoop with the other. Now make my granddaughter Fries Spaghetti turnovers for afterschool snack.  Leftover spaghetti fried crisp, put n toppings of choice, foldover and enjoy.

I personally had to return my set because the non-stick coating disappeared after a few weeks of daily use. But here are some interesting links on this product, its marketing, etc. Some food for thought.

Re: I got the Green Pan cookware set

Hi - I just received my first Green Pan set from HSN.  While I was "awestruck" at the presentation, the first thing I did when I took the small skillet from it's plastic wrap was to run my (natural) thumbnail along the rim.  Sure enough, to my shock and total disappointment, tiny chips of black - whatever it is, enamel? the paint from the outside of the pans - flaked off onto my nail.  Major bummer.  The rims on the other two pans in the set were fine so maybe it's just a flaw with the one, but... I kind of doubt that stuff's safe (to eat).  Regretfully, these pans are going back to HSN.

Still no complaints and I've been using the pot an skillets every day.  I broiled in the big skillet.  No scratches at all and I caught DH using a knife to cut a piece of ham steak in the skillet.  I have the black color on the outside and no specks of black has shown up.  One thing that impressed me is that it's almost impossible for food to burn in the pan.  It will burn but not burn the pan.  I have All Clad stainless and copper cookware, LeCruset, and several ionized pieces but I haven't used them much since getting the green pans because one wipe with a soapy cloth and it's clean.  I hate, detest, dispise cleaning cookware.

I completely agree with you.  I bought my set back in Nov 2007.  I love them!  There's was a lot of negative feedback about them on HSN or QVC (I can't remember which channel offered them) but I think they are fantastic! I highly recommend them. I just used the casserole pan this evening for Stuffed Cabbage rolls. Clean up is a snitch!

Re: I got the Green Pan cookware set

My parents have had GreenPans for a while now and love them.  For Christmas, they gave me a set but I'm not nearly as impressed.  Maybe it's because I use a gas stove and they have electric or something in my water but the paint is chipping off of the outside of the pans.  I am very careful with them and only handwash (don't even own a dishwasher) and have never scrubbed on them with anything except a plastic scrubber pad.  I tried to grill some teriyaki pork chops using the grill pan and it stuck so bad that I was scrubbing on it for about 30 minutes.  I can cook an egg in the skillet with no sticking but anything with sugar in the marinade is a real chore.  The dutch oven and 2 qt saucepan are used daily with no real problems except the seem to heat up a lot quicker than my SS pots and water will evaporate in minutes leaving you with burnt veggies.  They're ok but I prefer my Calphalon One Chef's pan over any of those.

Gosh Alliedawn.  I'm sorry your set is not doing what it is suppose to.  Can you possible send it back?  I'm not carefull with my set and DH and the teens certainly aren't gentle with them.   I made caramel in the big skillet and it didn't stick at all. I think the mass fast produced sets being sold on by the thousands for home shopping maybe aren't getting the quality control as the sets made in smaller amounts?
