Looking for German Potato "Loaf" Recipe

Hi Everyone!  When I was in college, my roommate was of German descent.  Her mother made a fabulous dense savory potato and bacon loaf - it looked like a quick bread loaf.  I do not know if it was eaten warm immediately after being baked? (the outside was brown) but we sliced it when cold and fried it on both sides.  I was never able to get this "secret" recipe, but have been looking for it ever since.  I came across a recipe for kartoffelplatzchen on a German web site that seemed similar, but do not know if this is the same thing.  I would really appreciate an answer from someone who knows something about German cooking.  Thank you.

Come visit over at the Old Country Corner, there are several cooks from Germany over there that might be able to help.....

Go back to the Old Country Corner where you also posted this days ago.

Twinkle posted the recipe for you. I knew what you were talking about since I do make the Dicker Pickert and the Lappenpickert every so often. I was wondering why you never went back there to look after posting your question.
