    Couldn't find jellybeans at the time so substituted gumdrops which worked just as well.

    I have since altered this recipe slightly. Instead of putting frosting on the wafers, I have melted down some of the wafers and used that in place of the frosting for "cementing" the life saver and jelly bean to the wafer. It lasts longer and doesn't break down like the frosting does if it gets warm. Lori Vigstol 8/17/09
