What do you use for dry skin ?

Appreicate any info on this. I don't know what has happened to my skin but it is so dry and no matter what I use it seems to stay this way.

Just your hands or all over?

Look for a lotion that DOES NOT contain alcohol.  They're hard to find, but Kerri is a good one.  It is super greasy, which I hate, but I notice a huge difference.  Also, turn your thurmostat down lower if you can stand it and run a humidifier.  Drink lots and lots of water and try not to take showers that are too hot.

Oil of Olay makes a body wash with Jojoba creme in it that I love too.  It does contain alcohol so I still need to slather on the Kerri a few times a week.

I keep the Lubriderm with oat extract on my desk at work.  It also contains alcohol but it doens't make my hands so greasy that I can't grip anything.

    Hope some of this helps.

Same problem at our house...we all get so dry in the winter.  Our pharmacist suggested Eucerin Original Cream - it is very thick.  We've been using it about a week and it seems to be helping

Janice....I am hooked on the recipe I got right here on the board... this is the best skin cream I have ever used!!!

    12-16oz bottle baby lotion

    12-16oz bottle Vitamin E Cream/lotion

    8oz petrolium Jelly

pour into mixing bowl and WHIP it all together with your mixer... store in airtight containers...

this stuff is absolutely the best!!! and if you buy the goods at the dollar store you make a large batch for 3$

The dry skin cream that several of us have made is wonderful.  Just a word of warning: Don't apply it to your hands just before writing a birthday card. I ruined a perfectly good Hallmark card by writing a message in it when I had the hand cream on.

Nivea on my face and Jergens lotion on my hands.  They are the only lotions that really work for me.

I use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion.  It has glycerin, dimethicone, and petrolatum in it among other stuff.  I can't remember where I bought it but I think WalMart or Target probably have it.

You can also get it from drugstore.com.

I use it after I get out of the shower and it really helps.  I also use it on my hands.

Did you ever try bag balm?  It is great stuff - used to buy it for my mother who absolutely loved getting it.  It is sold at the farm and garden store - it is used for treating cow *** and it is wonderful.  Try a small bit of it.  You will like it.

I use plain old Emu fat and a little bit goes a l o n g way. Get it from friends who raise them and they render the fat and sell it to cosmetics manufactirers to process into an expensive oil. I only use the rnendered fat and it works like charm and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.. mya be kind of hrd to find unless you know someone who raises the birds to sell the fat. It soaks in very fast and  does not leave a sticky film. Have to keep it in the fridge, though.

Janice,  what AKfishergirl said. I highly, highly recommend it. I've used Aveene, nutragena, eucerin and lots more expensive stuff but the recipe AK gave you is the best. When I made mine last time, I added an ounce of glycerin to the other ingreds and it's even better. LOL You can get glycerin at walmart or most drug stores. Clear thick liquid, cost about $4 for 5-6 oz. I added about an ounce to AK's ingreds. Guaranteed good. Try it.
