MomsRule posted this and I have used it successfully several times - it's very good.

I didn't have any problem with the stickiness when I made it.

This is the most tender bread I've ever made in my machine. My family can't get enough. I used my machine to make the dough, and then divided it into 2 free-standing oval loaves, and baked at 350º for about 22 minutes. (The dough is very sticky, so I added a bit more flour)

1 cup warm beer or ginger ale (70º-80º)
    1/3 cup water (70º-80º)
    2 Tbsp vegetable oil
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1-1/2 tsp. salt
    3 cups bread flour
    2-1/4 tsp. yeast

Place in machine according to manufacturer's instructions. Makes 1-1/2 lb. loaf.

Re: Need a recipe for Beer Bread

    3 cups flour (sifted)
3 teaspoons baking powder(omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 (12 ounce) can beer
1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 cup will do just fine)

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Mix dry ingredients and beer.
    3. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
    4. Pour melted butter over mixture.
    5. Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
    6. UPDATED NOTES: Sifting flour for bread recipes is a must-do. Most people just scoop the 1 cup measure in the flour canister and level it off. That compacts the flour and will turn your bread into a "hard biscuit" as some have described. That's because they aren't sifting their flour! If you do not have a sifter, use a spoon to spoon the flour into the 1 cup measure. Try it once the "correct" way and you will see an amazing difference in the end product.
    7. I have had many email from you kind folks about using non-alcoholic beverages instead of beer. That is fine to do but I highly recommend adding a packet of Dry Active Yeast or 2 teaspoons of Bread (Machine) Yeast so that you get a proper rise.
    8. The final result should be a thick, hearty and very tasteful bread, NOT A BRICK! ;).

this is my way of making the best

    Beer Bread

    3 cups self rising flour
    3/4 cup sugar
1 (12 oz.) beer can be non alcoholic or light beer
    1/4 cup melted butter

Stir together first 3 ingredients, pour into a lightly greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. Pour butter of top of dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or till golden brown.

You can add chives, bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder or anything to make it a different taste .................................

    • Beer Bread Rolls
    •
    • This came from an old Bisquick book I had before I was married ~ still the best and our favorite, never fail.
    •
    • 2 cups Bisquick
    • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
    • 1can beer (warm)
    •
    • Mix Bisquit  and sugar….then add beer, being careful to add only warm beer, slowly, stir just enough to mix (will be lumpy).
    •
    • Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet (I only use muffin tins).
    • Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
    •   This is yeast-tasting bread. Alcohol in beer cooks out.
    •
    • NOTE>>>>you can make a loaf ~ Mix well. Put in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Brush top with well-beaten egg whites, if desired, let bake 15 minutes longer. Cool at least 15 minutes before slicing.
    •
    • Something  extra?
    •
    • Add 2 cups grated Cheddar cheese. Add 2 tablespoons diced Ortega chiles or salsa, using the variations, bake at 375ºfor 60 minutes. Great with soup!  Makes 1 loaf.

Re: Need a recipe for Beer Bread

Here's a recipe I recently found in my mom's old recipe box.

    BEER AND CHEESE BREAD
    2 cups beer
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1-tablespoon salt
    2 tablespoons butter
    5 cups all-purpose flour
    1-
    8-ounce package American Cheese
    2 packages dry yeast
    1-tablespoon caraway seed

Grease two bread pans, and one large mixing bowl. In a large saucepan, beat beer. sugar, salt. butter and cheese. Reserve one half cup of beer to cool the mixture to lukewarm. In a large mixer bowl. combine two cups of the flour, two packages yeast and caraway seed and mix well. Add the lukewarm cheese and beer mixture. Beat about three minutes at medium speed. By hand, mix in the other three cups of flour. making it a fairly stiff dough. Knead dough on floured surface for about five minutes. Place in a large greased mixing bowl, then turn the dough in that in turning. the top is lightly greased. Cover and allow, to rise in a warm place until double in size. Remove bowl and punch down the dough and divide in half. Roll out each of the halves eleven inch by five inch rectangle. Cut each rectangle into three strips (the long way) leaving the top joined. Braid each piece and place each in a greased bread pan. Cover and let rise, to double in size about 45 to 60 minutes. Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sesame seed or caraway seed. Place in pre-heated oven at 350° and bake 40 to 45 minutes, until deep golden brown. Loaves will sound hollow when tapped. Remove from pans immediately, cool on racks.

1 12oz regular beer (room temp)

    1/4 cup sugar

    3-1/2 cups "Self Rising" flour

    Preheat over to 350 degrees.
