Can anyone recommend a good onion chopper

My old (and I mean old) onion chopper fell apart and I am looking for a new one. Can anyone suggest a new one.  I picked up a cheap one at Wal-Mart and it was the pits.

I don't know about the Pampered Chef one.  I had a hand one where you pounded with your hand.  I then got a Black & Decker electric chopper.  It's like a tiny little food processor.  I use it for onions, garlic, nuts, fresh herbs, etc.  It's great, it's cheap, you can get it at Target.  It's easy to clean.  Most parts go into the dishwasher.  Wipe off the base.  When it breaks I can always send DH to Target to get a replacement.  Can't get too complicated for him.

I have one similar to the Pampered Chef but it is a tupperware one...works fantastic..

I also have a 3 cup mini electric chopper....I also like

Each one chops certain items better...I would not be without either one..

The Vadalia Onion Chopper   Wizard, that you see on TV is really great also....I love that for chopping all my items for soup and certain recipes where I want the pieces the same size

(only don't have the original pieces you put in too huge...but it is a great item, I love and got good reviews on here also)

I don't know exactly what you have in mind, but the Vidalia Chop Wizard is pretty handy.  I bought one for $20.

I ended up buying a cheap one for 3.50 that is electric but am not happy with it at all. I think I am going to try the Pampered Chef and see how I like that.

I have an electric chopper and the pampered chef one, I have a hard time controling the size with the electric one.  It's great if I don't want "pieces" but I use the hand chopper if I need to control size more.

I have never used an onion chopper as it seemed like another thing on the counter.  What I do is to slice my onion in slices, then chop them (about 3 slices per chop).  My cuts are uniform and I am happy with the way it turns out.

I do this also with potatoes when I have to dice them.

Hope you find one you like.

I have a 3 cup black and decker mini chopper. I love it, I use it for onions, carrots (for carrot cake), pickles when I do tarter sauce, etc........ even make cream cheese frosting for the carrot cake.

I've had the Pampered Chef one. I loved it but eventually it broke. Then my DD got me one at a department store almost like the Pampered Chef. It's great. I just set it in the cabinet with the glasses when not in use. I also have the Black & Deckker mini chopper. It's also good but I don't have a good place to plug it in. I had the Vadalia chopper and it was my favorite until I decided to put it in the microwave to cook the onions. Meltdown.  So I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ones suggested. As for slicing the onion and three chops, I don't think my onion would be cut up fine enough for some things. Anyway, I cry when doing them by hand.
