Diet Spritely Apples Posted by Lindachicken2 packages crescent rolls2 Granny Smith apples8 ounces Take Control margarine 2 cups Splenda, divided1 1/2 teaspoons Saigon cinnamon, dividedGrated zest of 1 lemon......(optional)Juice of 1 lemon........(optional)10-oz. Diet Sprite (or use Diet Mountain Dew if you like that)Peel apples and slice into 8 sections. Separate crescent rolls and roll 1 apple slice in each. Place in a 9x13-inch buttered or sprayed baking dish. Melt margarine, add 1 1/2 cups of Splenda, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, lemon zest and juice. Stir well and pour over rolls. Finally add Diet Sprite. Combine remaining 1/2 cup of Splenda and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle on top. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
(TIP: Best if served warm....Zap in microwave a few seconds and serve with ice cream)
Love both of these. Make both of them as I try to be considerate to people who can eat lots of calories or those dieting.
Forgot to mention that they sell reduced fat or calorie, can't remember, crescent rolls. I have used these crescent rolls before and they worked just fine.
