Love and laughter. She's gonna have a hard time trying to garnish my pension but I don't doubt she would try. LOL

I don't know what that means, like taking a certain amount out of salaries to pay for health care?

Isn't this what they do in Canada?

Many years ago, when Ted Kennedy first started talking about National Health Care, that was why a lot of people objected to it. Money would be taken out of everyone's pay to cover it.

Now Ted Kennedy is backing Obama, I don't know if he's changed his mind about National Health Care and how to pay for it.

Howard Dean, when he was Gov of VT put through Vt Health care and it's paid for from the cigarette tax (I thought this was brilliant!)

Speaking of candidates, someone who comes from MA was telling me how Mitt Romney (before he was Gov of MA) was something in their ward (she is a Mormon) a teacher who came in monthly or something. She said someone one found out someone was ripping off the ward (or someone in it)- I'm not a Mormon, and I didn't get the details, but it was something he should have known about and done something about. He was told about it and told the person who reported it "mind your own business"

I don't know what that means, but the person who told me said that's the memories she has of Mitt Romney (before he was a Governor and now running for president) and she hopes he doesn't get in....

I just keep thinking about how he strapped his dog (in a crate) on top of his car, when he drove his family from MA to Cananda, and when questioned about it after said "the dog loved it". Yet the dog was so scared they had to stop while he got a hose and washed the dog poop off the car on the way.

I wonder how many people know about that story and are still FOR him?  It's even listed on www.snopes.com  (hoaxes and urban legends) as TRUE.

Oh well, I don't think he's doing too good anyway. In spite of being a Mormon and people in the church are probably being told to vote for him.

I'm sure this is a bunch of bunk!   What news site did you read this on?  Do you have the link?  Do you have the facts?  Do you have the small print?  I know GrannyC wants to believe it, but, I'm sure it's MISinformation.  That's the name of the game in the waste land we call the media today.

This is a total misquote of her words. She mentioned that those who can afford to buy health insurance and refuse to that it was possible to have their wages garnisheed but that a more affordable premiums were one of her goals for all.

SC, this is a ridiculous statement and you know it

Did the Catholic church tell the people in that church to vote for JFK in 1960?  I don't think so.

    Get real.

A misquote?  Well, I'm shocked.  That never happens.   PG, do you have a link?

It is in an AP news item and if you check AOL you should find it easy enough. Haven't quite figured out yet on this new Safari how to copy and paste. But I'm working on it. Hell I still can't even paragraph yet.

    ckisck - please make sure you have all of the information before posting a subject line like that.  You know someone will read that line, read no more and then pass it on.  That is how misinformation like that spreads like wildfire.  Perhaps this line from the AP article will help;

"Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms. With her proposals for subsidies, she said, "it will be affordable for everyone."

Hey Widdle, read what I said again, I was laughing . Is laughing a bad thing when we're talking about Miss Hillary? Oh well, I refuse to stroke out about politics. My experience has always been, we get a few facts and a lot of opinions and it's all worth at least one good laugh. Try it, you might feel better. Hope so..

Widdle - you can't blame it all on the media.  Much of the information comes from readers only reading part of what is written and listeners hearing only part of what is spoken.

Gmawmary, you are 110 percent correct. Lots of people catch a word or phrase and don't read what comes just before, or just after so they miss the point.

If we have half a brain, we know better. And when it comes to politics I form my own opinions as to who I will vote for. I usually listen very closely to what the candidates are saying and I notice that, even then, there's lots of room for error. LOL
