    Elegant Chocolate Torte

When I want to serve a really special dessert, I turn to this recipe. The tender, four-layer chocolate cake has a yummy pudding-like filling. Instead of the whipped cream frosting, you could use chocolate-flavored whipped topping. —Lois Gallup Edwards, Citrus Heights, California

Geez...I wish I had a piece of that cake right now, it looks wonderful. Might have to bake this up for DD's birthday!

it's so good! i share a birthday party with my mother and sister so we usually have more than one cake. everyone at the party loved it. i modified it a bit by only using the two cakes instead of cutting them both in half because i was worried i would masacre them. it still came out great.

    Hi skfptl,

You wanted to know how to make chocolate curls on top of a cake?  All you do is get a chocolate bar and use a vegetable peeler and draw against the edge.  With practice you can do really long pretty curls.  Good luck!  :)  DLB213@comcast.net

Because of the whipped cream topping, does this have to be refrigerated or eaten immediately?
