MARCH SECRET SISTER READING CIRCLE CHOICE

I will be doing the book for March.  It will be by Nicholas Evans and is

"The Horse Whisperer."   This is an older book, but it still can be ordered through Amazon.com of Half.com   Seeing how February is a short month, I wanted to make sure everyone got the book in time.  I have really enjoyed this book and thought it well worth the discussion. 

 Thanks for agreeing to tackle the selection for March, Mary Ann!! I just don't think I could make time to lead a discussion next month. Too many things going on and too many unresolved health issues I need to deal with before it gets out of hand! I'll be having the librarian start looking for this book. And I hope I'll be able to join in as I am able!

Since I have Jury Duty tomorrow, I wanted to take The Horse Whisperer with me.  Well, I stopped at 2 different libraries and neither one had it so I had to request a trasfer from another.  I guess, I'll take along a fast read that I have sitting on my night stand...nancy

 I have seen the movie and I'll be honest and say it really wasn't my cup of tea!  So I'm sure the book has to be better. The books usually are. However, like Nancy, I'm having trouble tracking down a copy. My librarian has checked every library in our county and within our rather large lending system! She's had to expand her search. So I hope she is able to locate it. In the meantime, I need to stop at Barnes and Noble tomorrow after DH's appt. at the VA. So I'll check and see if they have a copy on hand. I wasn't really wanting to buy a copy. But I guess I can always donate it to my own library after we've done our discussion!! Anyway, I'm definitely on the hunt and glad we've got a couple more weeks to look! I didn't honestly think it would be hard to find this book!!! But I shall find it somewhere!!

Kay, let me know how you come out with your trip and finding the book.  I was at a book store when I was in Medford and they had the book.  I also bet a lot of the used book stores have the book.

 Mary Ann - No, I have had no luck finding the book yet! But I'm still looking and have a couple of weeks to track it down. I hope some of you other gals are having better luck than I!! In the meantime..........

I'm just finishing up another quick read and am about ready to start another book by W. Dale Cramer that my librarian found for me!! It's his latest and I had no idea there was a 4th book! I can't wait to get started on this one! I so loved the other 3 books! Each one got progressively better and they were all great IMHO!! The title of this new one is "Summer of Light" and was just published last year! So, I'll let you know! I have #3 of the Sister Chicks books on hand in case I need to have something fun to read!!

I'm still waiting for the librarty to get the book in from a neighboring library.  I'm sure it shouldn't take more than a week.  Otherwise, I'll just do another read and join up in April.  Maybe I'll check around for a used book store...there must be some close by!  The library has me spoiled. lol  ...nancy

I heard from the library yesterday...they said that my book came in.  I was excited and felt that the weekend was the perfect time to get started on it.  Well, it was the wrong book.  It did have the word, whisper in it tho. lol  So, back to square one again.  The librarian apologized and assured me that she keyed in the correct book this time.  Oh, well...March is not here yet so I have time for a couple of more delays. lol  ...nancy

Hi Sisters, This book is real a treasure.  I read it some years ago. Don't have the book now but I remember one description in particular where a horse was likened to a baby - - won't say anymore - I plan to get hold of a copy of the book from the library, re-read it and join you all. Jeanie
