Hate to say I told you so but I'll say it anyway. I told you so. This stuff does nothing to prevent or shorten a cold. Researchers said so a long time ago.

    How ironic is that? LOL

DH won't fly w/o taking Airborne first.  We've always felt IT was what stopped us from catching something via the recycled air on planes!!

    Things that make you go...hmmmmm!

The men and women who serve in our battlefields may be Democrats and Republicans and Independents, but they have fought together and bled together and some died together under the same proud flag.

They have not served a Red America or a Blue America they have served the United States of America.

This is a MAJOR Angry GRRRR Issue with me...

This Airborne stuff is an OTC supposed Cold "Cure".  My Sister swears by it, I've never used it.  I eat boat loads of Citrus and take Vitamin C when I feel a Cold coming on.

So...how much longer before there is a Class Action Lawsuit against Oranges and Vitamin C tablets?

Truly.  It's OTC, Folks.  No one was forced to take it.

As it stands, the FDA isn't able to keep PRESCRIPTION drugs that cause injury to individuals off the shelves.  Heck, they're not able to check 1/2 the food products we eat to see if they are safe.

Just figure that 99% of what you see, eat, and/or breathe has not been checked out by someone first and it's probably a good idea to rely on YOUR common sense rather than that of any Government agency.

    As always, JMHO.

Editing to add that I went off on my Rant/Vent without taking all the information provided into account.  Given that the Airborne product claimed to CURE the Common Cold...of course there should be compensation provided. Yes

The maker could have fought the lawsuit but did not - chose to settle instead. Don't think this has anything to do with the FDA.

I believe it is because they advertised falsely....

I have mixed feelings about Air Bourne.  I am not totally for it , nor I am totally against it..  It has worked for me most of the time..  I give my son Air Bourne everyday this winter b4 he goes to school and he has not had a cold yet.  I always thought of it as Vitamins and not a cold medicine..I'll give it some thought..

the lawsuit  is because they advertised that Airborne could get rid of a cold in 1 hour... well if anyone believed that I have a nice piece of swamp land in Arizona I would love to sell ya!!!!

I tried it, and it never worked for me.  I'll stick to my Zicam!!

Zicam had many lawsuits too.  Due to the fact that some people lost their sense of smell after using it.

I like Airborne but use a generic cuz it's cheaper.  It is just a mega multi vitamin to me.  I was told by a health care professional years ago that when you feel a cold coming on you should take 500mg of Vitamin C every hour til you get diarreha (sp?).  He said that some people are ok on their Vitamin C intake and will see the results within hours, others may take a day or more.

Hmmmm.....so I'm experiencing "power of suggestion" here?  I've used Airborne and have even shared it with fellow travelers who were feeling like they were coming down with something, and in both instances it seemed to help.

I have a box in my medicine cabinet and have just read the entire label.  There is an outlined box on the back with the statement "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.  This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease"

If they purported to cure a cold, I have not seen that ad.  Anyone actually seen where they claimed to cure a cold?

I guess I won't be joining in the class action suit, as I am of the opinion that the ingredients actually do some good.

    Sue, sue, sue!!!
