Mary - I hope the storm goes south of you, like it did us.  I'm so glad it did miss us.  People in southern Indiana and Ohio really got hit hard.  Yes, I'm very glad the move is behind us.  I hope you feel better later today.

Nancy - I'm glad you didn't get any of this snow.  You've had more than enough this winter.  Our HS basketball tournament is today.  My city's team plays this morning at 10:00.  In the picture from work with my co-workers, that was the temporary space.  There was even one other person, but she doesn't like having her picture taken, so she wasn't at the table.  I was trying to get a sense of how close were sitting to each other.

Hauke - Good morning.  Do you have a busy day today?  You always seem to be going here and there and so busy.  You wear me out some days!

I woke up at 5:30, watched some TV and then went back to sleep.  I didn't wake up until after 8:00.  So I'm getting a later start.  I do have a load of laundry in the washer right now.  I did go out to breakfast.  The wind is really whipping out there and it is a chilly wind.  I think I'm in for the day.  Everybody have a good day.

    Good morning, everyone.

I will be heading to church shortly for a handbell practice. I was asked to substitute, again. So, at least I will have time to practice with the group this time.

MARY, so much of the ills going around, hope you're feeling better, soon.

Will be back later to say HI to the rest of the gang.

    Morning.

I feel wide awake this morning - first time in several days.  Not sure why other than I did sleep well yesterday.  Had a nap before supper and then enjoyed  a steak and salad... and was in bed by 11.  I don't deny the last two weeks have been really stressful - and in the last 24 hours several issues have resolved themselves.  Maybe that's why I slept so much better.

I have to finish some things by Monday for my new client so I'm looking forward to a quiet day in front of the computer.  Love those days.  I know Rebecca is going to a banquet with my mom and dad tonight.  It's a fund raiser dinner and silent auction for a Teen Camp.  Rebecca used to go to the camp as a teen as did my DS... so this will be her first time at this banquet.  My folks have been going to them for years.

Wow, I see that the east is being plastered AGAIN by those winter storms.  Yikes, I sure feel for you!   Our temps got up to 52F yesterday and the water was running on the streets as the snow is melting.

Ladies, have faith.  Spring is coming..   I'll try to send it your way, but I'm not sure if I have control over such things.  Big Smile

Well, it's time to go make some java.  I'll see you all later.

Good morning Mary.  Sorry to hear that you now have the "crud" that is going around.  Take it easy and get plenty of rest along with lots of fluids!!!

Joyce, the new office space looks very nice.  It is always nice to have fesh, new surroundings.  I'm glad the storm went south of you.  I know we are all tired of winter weather, and fortunately, we sure are on the down-hill slide of it.

Nancy, always nice to be able to practice before having to play.

hauke, I'm glad that the stressful things are resolving themselves for you.  A good nights' rest must of seemed good.  From your lips to Gods ears, please!!!LOL  Enjoy your coffee.

Had 2 very busy nights at work which was so nice since vacations tend to empty the bank!!LOL  We figured we still had 3 slow Fridays due to Lent and so many churches having fish fry, but it didn't seem to matter last night.  I've started to browse through the Peurto Rico tavel books I got in the mail.  I am in charge of next years family vacation since it was our idea to go to PR.  Now, if only I can find nice accomadations and things to do.  The book sure looks interesting, and I am trying to take my time checking it out.  Next step will be checking out the websites listed.

Well, off to find some brunch and do some searching.  Later all.

Good Morning Girls,    Am I in trouble for being AWOL for so long????

I have been really busy getting ready for this surgery, getting my house in order I guess you could say just in case something should go wrong, so all the important papers and such are where they can be found and also cleaning so when I do come home I won't be stressed that something needs to be done.

Also been trying to keep the phone lines open as the kids and Dr and hospital has been calling.

I am all cheacked in at the hospital so just go to the floor I need to be on and I will be ready to go.

So we will go to Spokane tomorrow, I will drink my prep "gunk" Monday, have the colonoscopy Tuesday and the surgery on Wed.    I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days as they will have to do the surgery through an incision of 15 inches so will take longer to heal than if done with the scope.

Walt will stay in Spokane while I am in there so it will be a week at least,  We are staying at a retirement home where they keep the top floor for people who have family in the hospital so will have a 2 B R apartment and they charge $35.00 a night so if the kids need to stay over there will be room, my boys will be there but probably not the girls as they are far away and I told them not to come.   Any way I should be all set.    Friend Joy laughs at me for being so organized but that is just the way I am.

I haven't been keeping up with the daily posts so don't know all the news but see that today Mary is not feeling well. lots of people here have the "ctud" but so far we haven't caught it, feel better Mary!!

And those of you with the weather----SORRY--- ours is beautiful, still cold at night but high 40s days and most of the snow is gone.   Had pictures of snow from my D D in Ark and she was excited to get it,,Silly girl!!

I have been keeping in touch with Joyce so haven't been totally gone.

I need to get busy now I am doing laundry and will pack as I fold it and then need to pack some basic food for Walt as we will have a kitchen so he can fix some things there and not have to eat out all the time.

So will try and get back later, I need to go read my meter for my power and get that in the mail as the P O will close soon also.

Nancy - That's nice of you to sub for the bell choir.  I hope the practice went well.

Hauke - I'm glad you had a good night's sleep and that your stress is lessening.  I hope Rebecca has a good time at the banquet.

Deb - I sure hope we are on the downhill side of winter.  They show the extended forecast for next week and we are to be in the mid-50's, so that will be nice.  Most of thelittle bit of snow from yesterday/last night has already melted.  I went to Puerto Rico, I think it was 17 years ago.  I had a great time and have always wanted to go back.  I had said if I could speak Spanish, I would move there.  It is so beautiful (well, most of the tourist areas) and everybody is so laid-back.  And the weather was perfect.  I'm glad work has been busy.  You are right, vacation tends to clean out the bank account.

Marge - It's good to see you here.  It does sound like you have gotten everything done before you leave tomorrow.  Try to relax and not worry.  As I said, you have lots of prayers being said for you.  I'm so glad Walt will be able to be close by. May God be with you and the surgery team.

Re: DC Conversation - Weekend, March 8-9

    Good weekend, all ~~

Sorry I've been gone for so long, but had another emergency trip to the hospital.  Last Saturday everything came crashing down on me, and I was taken to the ER in respiratory failure!  I was very quickly put on the Bi-Papp mask (which forces air into your lungs), given an injection to prevent blood clots and taken to the ICU.  Thankfully this time I had a very quick 'turn-around', and by morning I was on a nasal canula, and breathing quite easily.

The doctor feels that this was caused by my intolerance to the chemo treatments ~~ however, he wanted to be sure that the heart wasn't involved.  So, I was put in the care of a Cardiologist, and very quickly had an ultrasound, echocardiogram, EKG, and finally an angiogram.  The final report was that I have a very strong, healthy heart, and remarkedly clear arteries!  All in all, a very good report.

There is also the possibility that I may have had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic.  We discovered quite by accident that a year and ½ ago and this time, I was on the same antibiotic at the time I went into respiratory failure.  There seem to be lots of 'players' in the picture, and it remains to be seen who the culprit is.......................

So, Mary, I am in the same boat as Ron ~~ I'm on coumadin again (for a while); and also on oxygen (at night only).  It seems every time I buy Romaine lettuce, brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc. somethihg happens and I can't eat those foods.  Oh well, it's a small price to pay to stay healthy.

Well, that's enough about me ~~ and am sorry to say I haven't been keeping up with the individual posts.  Will try to do better in the future..

    Smile  Sandy

Wilted Flower Sandy and Marge sending big hugs your way!!!!

Wilted Flower  Marge you sound so organized and in control of the situation.   I sure hope the surgury gives you some relief!!!  My prayers will be with you, that is for sure!!!  ((((Marge)))) Not you are not in trouble for being MIA....LOL

Wilted Flower  Sandy, you sure have been through quite a bit too and its time now for you to feel better.  I am sure sorry you have to go through all this and hope the Dr. can figure out what made you so sick.  Sorry to hear about the coumadin too...that is dangerous stuff and takes getting used to.  I don't worry as much as I did with Ron on it, but at first it was mind boggling.

Wilted Flower  We had alot of ice today and then this afternoon, snow.  My girls made it to Disney on Ice, calling me from Target...LOL Always have to shop first....LOL  If its bad tonight, they will get a motel room and stay overnight.  I think staying overnight would be kinda fun....especially if you can shop...LOL

Wilted Flower  Deb, that is alot of pressure on you, deciding where the family vacation will be next year!!! LOL  I know one thing, I would want to go somewhere warm and nice!!!  Glad work was busy for you!!!

Wilted Flower  Mom has the bug now too and is coughing alot.  I think if she is not better tomorrow, we will just take her to the ER and get medicine.  She heed and hayed about me calling the Dr. yesterday to get meds for her too, now its the weekend and the only other choice to go is the Er.  I feel somewhat better, but I am pretty sure I have bronchitis, so sometimes I feel better then other times, I still feel sick. I stopped the chantix because of the gas it gives me and now that I am not feeling well, I have the runs, so I don't know if the Chantix would make matters worse.  The chantix has been so hard on my stomach, that is for sure....its one of the side effects...gas...

Wilted Flower  Michelle, are you here this weekend??? If you are, I hope all is well with you!!! Whats new??

    Hugs,

    Mary

I'm wishing Marge a good result from that surgery!!  Boy, what orginization though, could have used you back in Oct. of last year!  lol

Mary, the run's, oh s___, wouldn't you know??  I hope you can get some meds, but by the time you get them, the worst will probably be over with.  Do you guys have a warm air vaporizer by chance??  That used to help me through alot of bad nights and days.  Not the cold air kind, but the old fashioned WARM air kind.

Sandy, that is awful what keeps happening to you.  Get better feeling soon!

hauke, are the produce prices going up in your neck of the woods in Canada??  Do you buy frozen produce sometimes?

How are gas prices friends??  Up here they are $3.65 at the moment.  One place in California has $5.19, but that is on the coast hiway 1, where there are hardly any gas stations but alot of tourists.........

See you tomorrow, waving howdy to everyone.
