    Hi Healthy Ones!

(((Jolene))) Hope all is going well for you!

(((Dusta))), sending hugs to you as well. That scale is just being quite contrary. You are so dedicated....hang in there and it will happen. Sorry you had a downer and cried. :(  Us women just have to have a good cry sometimes so that is no biggie! :) Have fun in MS. Yippee!   I am planning on going to Mom's next Wednesday(Lord Willing).  Sorry yours has been a grouch. Wonder if is maybe some of her meds? You never know.

Debbie, Eeek on having to heat up pots of water. Hope a new hot water heater isn't too expensive.

Dawn, LOL on the PB on the Oatmeal cookie! See, I am a good influence- only want the best for you!lol  It is good on chocolate chip cookies too(shhh, don't tell anyone!:)  I don't have any chocolate chip ones in the house so should be able to resist that urge.lol  DH is in the mood for burgers today so wondering if I want an open faced one with 1/2 Ezekial bun(toasted) with grilled onions on top or just a burger without the bun with onions. Decisions, decisons.

Welcome xylwb, klcurry, and Christina!  Please feel free to join our group weekly post here to get much more feedback! :)

Christina, I try to get in pilates 2-3X per week and cardio 2X per week. Since I am a part- time Girl Friday for a sweet elderly lady, I am challenged to squeeze it in and manage to get my pilates in either late in the evening or early morning on those days. I do the cardio workouts on my days off unless I have too much else to do. I have lots of videos and dvds with simple cardio workouts with prevention and Denise Austin to choose from and usually use one that is about 30 minutes long so it is very do-able and low impact too. If you want advice on which ones I use just yell. I created my own pilate routine but there are dvds with pilate workouts as well. I love yoga but can't find the time to do it as often as I like.     I think it is important to stay flexible and to me the pilates is more important than the cardio but I think it is good to keep the heart pumped up too. :)

I eat lots of real foods like fresh fruit and veggies, salads(usually with my evening meal), whole grain pastas or bread, lean proteins(mostly fish or chicken, sometimes eggs, (sometimes beef  but rarely)- NO PORK- just decided to give it up a few years ago. For my fat choices I try to use mainly EVOO, but also use real butter sparingly- I also love nuts(mostly pecans, almonds or walnuts- in moderate amounts-no more than 2 TBS. at a time.). I try to limit my cheese to small amounts of feta or mozzarella but do have a grilled cheese with real butter on Ezekial bread with real cheddar cheese occasionally.   I DON'T use artificial sweetners- I use honey in my hot tea if I need it. Think Mediterranean Lifestyle eating plan- that's my goal. :)

I have a time in the evening when I have a little special treat- maybe one cookie with a cup of hot tea and just savor it. Kathyf shared that about herself once and I hooked onto it! It works!  It is great and you have that to look forward too. Just make sure you don't consume 1/2 dozen of cookies.lol Keep things in perspective- just say, it is this one cookie and it is all I need. :)  Eat it slowly. :)  Sometimes, I just have a cup of tea. :)

Occasionally I may have a scoop of ice cream and there are times I will have a slice of delectable cheesecake. I don't deprive myself. :) But, I don't eat sweets all the time. :)

Hope this helps a little for the new comers!  I am sure others have their ideas as well to share!

Oh yeah, I usually consume at least 10 glasses of water per day- WATER is a must to control your wt. and just to stay healthy in general. Look at it this way, do you want stagnant water running through your veins, etc?  If not, move around(exercise) and replenish your water supply. It will help flush out the toxins and fat and you will feel better!

Ok, I have written a mini novel here.lol

    Hugs to all,

    ~Muril~

Re: HL topic of the week 3/10 to 3/16 How Sugar ages your skin!

Today turned out to be gorgeous! Sunny and warm. We are staying in Gulfport instead of Biloxi, because we couldn't find a campground with wifi, cable you know the things we think we can't LIVE without :)  we have wifi here and found out from some of the other campers that we could get cable. Called the man and he is coming today, going to cost $25 for one month. Thought that was a good deal. Get Fox too, that is not for me.

Ate at this very old resturant in  Biloxi today, I had a grilled crawfish salad. Had never had one before and it was okay. Had enough crawfish left that I can have a sandwich later.

Muril when I was looking for something to wear today I put on some capris that I wore last year and they just bag and hang. So that put me in a very good mood! I refuse to stay in a gray funk. Wednesday after I felt sorry for myself I got out and rode the bike, that helped a lot. The bike is still hanging on the back of the motor home, so didn't get to ride today. Hope we get it off tomorrow, but first we will be going to the St Patty parade. Have fun with your Mom. I think mine eats too many sweets and she is having mood swings. Yesterday she ate a pint of ice cream and 3 Little Debbie cakes, no telling what else sweet she ate.

Morning Dusta and everyone who checks in later.    Snowing here this morning, estimates are 2 to 5".    We had promised Jake we'd go bike shopping tomorrow.   Sigh.   Supposed to go to lunch with my sister today, it's been a while.    Will have to see how the roads shape up.     Honestly, I'd rather just curl up with some knitting or a book all day.

Waving and hugs for all, I appreciate everyone's patience that I can't be here as much for a few days, just need to clear my head and refocus.

    Happy Saturday Healthy Ones!

I am off to Wal-Mart in a few and really need to clean the house but may wait until Sunday- we will see..... :)

Dusta, great atttitude! See, look how far you have come since last year! :) I finally decided to skip buying new jeans until next year since I didn't get the 10 lbs. off (not yet) but have decided that if I see some at a steal - may stock up for next year. I never wear jeans when it is warm and it is warm! :)  I have plenty of capris and can never have to many so may see what they have at WM today when I go. Probably won't get any there though, I usually find the best deals at Penney's for some reason. :)    I need some new bras too but not sure when I will get around to shopping for them.

    Hi Jet!

(((Jolene))), take all the time you need! :) Have fun at lunch with your sister!

    Have a lovely Saturday!

We went and ate out for breakfast this morning at an Amish buffet! It was sooooo good! And my diet is soooooo over!!!! LOL!

    They had....

bacon, sausage, egg casserole, scrambled eggs w/different toppings, fried eggs, fried hashbrowns, pancakes, wafles, toast (homeade bread), biscuits and gravy, fried apples, and a bunch of other things I can't even remember!

I hope you all are having a good weekend!

((hugs)) Jolene! Hope the weather clears for you soon! It is rainy here but its not extremely cold! Thank goodness!!!

Muril I bought some capris at Burlington a few weeks ago and they were so cheap, the most I paid was $6.95 and some were less. They were skin tight, but by the time we go to Branson they WILL fit :).  I need to go to WM too, forgot the oatmeal and had just bought a new box.

It is suppose to get up to 80 here today and it is windy. I guess when they throw the beads to us they might fly over our head. It will be fun, we are suppose to go out for lunch with some old friends of Mel's.  Green beer, green bread pudding, etc.  He has know them since he was a boy, and that was a long time ago.

Dusta, they may even be too loose when you get to Branson! :)   I think I will go to Penney's sometime next week and check out thier capris. We also have a Burlington so may get there too.

Jet, the B'fast buffet sounds devine.  I may have gained just reading it! :)

    Cool

    Happy Weekend!

I have been having trouble getting the bb loaded. It takes forever to try and post.

What a day!  DD had a game at 3 and the sky got so black and it was so windy.  The ump had to call the game in the second inning.  The girls were bummed.  It is spring break here so no games or practice next week.

We went out to lunch so no cooking for me.  Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party.  It is suppose to be outside, but we shall see!

    (((Jolene)))) take care, doll.

    See you all later.

Waving to everyone!   Sounds like everyone's had a busy weekend so far.   Big day here, we're buying Jake his first "real" bicycle.   Where the heck does the time go.    Hopefully will be a nice family day, and the weather weill hold off long enough that he'll get to try it out this afternoon!

    Hugs and thanks to all,

Beautiful here again today, sunny and not too windy. Hope to get the bike off the back of the motor home, haven't been for a ride since Wednesday. :(  Will be thankful if I stay the same this week when I weigh.

Have fun with the bike Jolene. I taught my two oldest grands to ride when they got ready to take the training wheels off.  The boy, oldest, didn't want to learn but the girl did and when she did he couldn't stand for her to do something he couldn't do. The youngest got too heavy as a little girl and I couldn't hold her up. Sorry for her, she is the sweetest, prettiest (now whould I know if whe wasn't pretty?) little girl and sooooooo over weight.

    Have a great Sunday!

Happy Sunday Healthy Ones!   Big Smile

Betsy, sorry the game was called. :( Oh well, gotta respect Mother Nature. :)

Jolene, Yeah for Jake's New Bike! Our boys always learned when they were 4 years old(without TW). They were so coordinated and we took the training wheels off in no time. I am sure Jake is just as athletic. :)

Yeah Jet on your team going to St. :)

Dusta, the kids are coming over and I am thinking of baking good ole' mac n' cheese with a twist.  DH's idea and I think I may call it "Cheeseburger Macaroni." I will steam some green beans, and toss a salad to go with it and call it a meal. :) I am planning on just an itty bitty square since it will be with the white pasta. Keith would go balistic if I did it with whole wheat. lol  Dessert will be Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream- hopefully I will pass on dessert. :)

    Hugs to all!
