Been pretty busy this week! A friend of mine found out that her husband has liver cancer. She is not handling it to good. He collapsed Sunday and she got me out of Church. It is a sad situation. I heard it is not good. I don't know what she is going to do as she has no family to speak of and she is 100% dependent on him.

My dog Maggie has been having seizures and they think they might have to put her on a pill. It is from her previous owners and how they treated her. I am so sick of people getting animals and then mistreating them. In a county a few miles from us, a women had 90 animals and were not feeding them. One dog, was suppose to weigh 90 lbs. and only weigh 20. He was skin and bones. All the animals are at the Rescue League except (get this) 8. They actually left her 8 animals to care for. This makes me sick. She didn't take care of any of them and instead of taking them all, they leave her 8. It isn't fair to the animals. I hope they give her the book but I bet she just gets a slap on the hands.

Hope everyone is doing OK and I will check back in tomorrow morning hopefully!

    Good Morning Everyone!!!

Mom has an eye dr. appointment this morning, so it is another busy morning and week of appointments.  We ended up going into the ER yesterday to get her meds for her bronchitis.  Her dr. didn't have hours till afternoon, so we weren't sure if he could see her then, so we thought the ER seemed the next best place. It was a long day and maybe the wrong choice...LOL  We had to get perscriptions and she decided after the ER to get her hair done. I was never so glad to get home in my life.  I was just worn out. I think in the ER she told everyone who asked her whole life story and just babbled on and on...constantly....LOL  Someone who is not around it that much thinks its funny, but listening to that everyday is very stressful.

Annette, sorry for your friends husband!!  IMO, no one needs that many animals and why would they leave that women 8 animals to take care of when they know she can't do it or won't do it.

Well , I gotta get a move on a get ready to leave again this morning.   I hope everyone is doing well.  I was too tired last night to post.  I will sure be glad when this bug passes and I feel better again.

Rebecca, no dancing for two weeks!! You must be exhausted.  I hope you can get that job at the Dr. office, filing.  I am sure lifting all those magazines is not doing your hands any favors.

     Michelle, are you feeling better??

    Hugs,

    Mary

Rebecca - I hope you have enough energy to go dancing soon.  I know how much you enjoy yourself when you go out with your friends. I hope you don't have to have the carpal tunnel surgery.  Good luck with the job at the doctor's office.

Claudia - I hope you can figure out why you can't post soon.  That has got to be frustrating.

    Hauke - Good morning!

Annette - I'm sorry to hear about your friend's DH.

Mary - I'm sorry you had to take your mom to the ER.  I hope she is better soon.  I hope things go okay at the eye doctor today.

    Good morning, everyone.

Higher temps are headed our way for the next few days. Of course, in WI, higher means into the 40's right now.

ANNETTE, sorry to hear about your friends's DH. And, why leave animals with the woman who abused so many? She shouldn't have any. Lots of stories around here with the same outcome. The last on had 60 cats. Hoping your day goes well.

MARY, bet it's good you got the meds for mom. It sounds like she is a talker and loves to do it whenever she can. Sending get wells to you, so you can get rid of your ills.

JOYCE, I figure you're busy when you have a short post. Hope you have a smooth going day at work.

REBECCA, I would look for another job, too. Sounds like hard work to me.

MICHELE, maybe a warm-up in your town will help you get better. I know the bright sun is helping here.

CLAUDIA, we are waiting for you to post, Hope it gets straightened out.

    Thinking good things for MARGE.

Tax lady time this morning. BBL

Nancy - Yes, we were busy earlier this morning.  We have ups and downs.  Enjoy your warmer weather.  I hope the meeting with the tax lady goes well.

I was reading the latest Prevention magazine at lunch and came across a short article.  I know they sometimes "recycle" articles, so I may have already posted this before.  But it is talking about how to cut your BS numbers in one month.  It says:  "Research has long proven that a high-fiber diet can lower your risk of diabetes and help control the condition if you already have it. That's why Prevention's New Diabetes Diet (at http://www.prevention.com/diabetesdiet) pooled the best science-backed tips into a 30-day online food and lifestyle plan to ease you into healthy eating (and living).  You'll enjoy delicious meals (and desserts!) loaded with fiber, so you'll eat at least 30 g daily, enough to slash disease risk and curb hunger.  Plus, certified diabetes educator Ann Fittane, RD, will be online this March to answer any questions you may have.  In 1 month, you can lower blood sugar and shed pounds, too!"

Just thought I would post this in case somebody would like to see it.

Re: DC Conversation - Tuesday, March 11

Had a packed full morning of errands! Just got home and decided to curl up with a new book and my daughter called to take me out to dinner. Wish I could stay home but she needs to talk to me and I feel I should go.

Nancy and Mary-It is beyond me why they are leaving 8 of those animals with her. The others are in such bad shape that these 8 can't be doing any better. I quess they feel she loved them but just couldn't feed them all. She was taking in strays to help them as people were dumping them out in the country. At some point she must of known it was getting out of control. I have 3 dogs and 5 cats and I know, it is time for me to quit. I am the same way. See a stray, pick it up and take it home. I just picked up a kitty last week but knew I couldn't keep it and didn't want to get attached to it so found a home fast!!! I love my babies and know I am at the limit in getting their shots, food, grooming, ect. This lady must of known she was out of her element and should of stopped. And I don't believe they are helping her in letting her keep 8.

Maggie is doing so much better. Looks like she is back to normal. Cross your fingers. I just couldn't bear to lose another so soon. Just seems like yesterday I lost Bandit,Shadow and Nickle. I miss them so. I still think at night sometimes I hear Bandit bark or Nickle or Shadow jumping up on my bed only to see it is one of the cats or Charlie.

Nick is on some different meds as he is still having a few problems. I quess we are both getting old. I just didn't see it coming. One day I was raising my babies and the next, slowing down to a crawl. LOL

Well on that note, I must be going as my daugher will soon be here for me. Will check back in later this afternoon.

    Hi Everyone!

Just realized that although I've been reading all the post (I get them in my emails) I never actually came in and said HI!...   LOL

I am so sorry to hear of the bad news some of you received and also how sick you or family members are.  It's not been a good week for some of you.  Hang in there... we're all praying for you.

Rebecca is up to something in the kitchen, I hear her "puttering" but when I ask what she's up to she says "Nothing".  I smell onions... and hear chopping... does that sound like nothing to you.  LOL  Maybe she's making us some supper.  That would be great as I  haven't thought that far yet.  LOL

Well, I have a few errands to run, so that's where I'm off too.  I'll try and stop back later.

Tonight is Biggest Losers isn't it?  Well, I'll be watching that.  I can't get into this season of Big Brother... so it's not getting my attention unless I am really really bored or vegged out - and that hasn't happened lately.

Re: DC Conversation - Tuesday, March 11

Hello Gang of girlies, ha ha.  Smile  Isn't it amazing how often those stories of usually women keeping lots of animals seem to happen all too often, and yet no one really does anything about it until it gets way out of hand??  It is a disease, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and these people need to be treated by a doctor, whether they want to be or not.   I feel sorry for those 8 animals and wonder if any department of the county ever checks on them again, or if they wait for neighbors to call??

Had such a full day yesterday, got up before 6 AM and didn't get back home until night around 9 pm.  dh was so tired today, so he napped, but I didn't/couldn't, you know how that goes with we women.  He did do some chores in the yard in the am before napping.  Thursday we go again but only to the orthopedist in the city that is only 2 hrs away, not Sacramento which is 4 hrs away.   I need a CostCo run after that appt. too, and want to stop at a Hallmark store too, have some coupons and don't want them to go to waste.

lol, Mary, I think I know a bit how you feel about your Mother's stories to strangers.  I had a neighbor up the street a few years back whose Mother moved in with her, and I happened to talk to her now and again, so she found my phone number and would call and want to talk for hours!!!  It was all I could do to be polite to tell her I had to make dinner or do chores and the boys were still home then too, she had a hard time "getting" it that I didn't have time to chit chat.  She found other people her age finally to chat with though.

We have some sunny times lately, but always a cool breeze.  Then, tomorrow night some snow might venture forth here also.   dh and I are tired of the cold, my hands seem to be cold alot this winter, until I wash dishes, that seems to help for awhile.  I don't have a dishwasher, so at least I know for 2 hrs or so I'll have nice, warm hands.

Rebecca, that job sounds like a real "killer", do you know how long others who have had that job have lasted??  Seems like some expert needs to figure out a better way for that stuff to be done so it does not damage hands like that.  Terrible!!!  Do you belong to a Union that you can complain to or something of the sort?

Claudia, I can't figure out why you can be on here with your photo and all but no words??  I clicked on different "reply" areas and my words show up no matter which one I picked.   Odd that.

That time change messed us up, and then getting up extra early also did it's thing, I wish they would just leave it one way or the other!!!  My son works as a systems analyist, and they had to call in all the workers so that at Midnight they would be there to help fix problems with computers all over the US, the company even brings in meals while the people are there.  It costs everyone extra money just because of the time change.

I'd better close and get off to beddy bye.  I still have on my woolly socks and sweater folks, the usual "uniform" around these here parts.  :)
