Sunshine and rain today. We went to towns St. Patrick Day concert and dance studio entertainment. Towns volunteer band played and DGD was one of dancers.

Hope this new room will make it easier to post. Think old room was getting to large.

Hope you gals are doing okay. Been missing you. Sending good thoughts and prayers.

Good Morning, I found the Chat on Wheels, I had an hard time getting in TOH could not log in I wish it was as easy, as like we had before this change.

It is a beautyful day here, sunny and windy need to get Cella ready she is going with Sylvia shopping and it is a secret ( for my BD) I am getting some friends over for lunch, also my landlord will come by to check the traps he set in the attic.

We have not heard the noises in the roofs and walls since Monday, we cross our fingers.

Sending blessings to Louisa, Javagal, Deery, Marie and all visitors thinking of you all !!

    Re: . . .~~ CHAT ON WHEELS ~~ . . . . . **2008**

Well I thought I went a long way down yest, but today it was nearer the top. Looks like I always take the longest to find a new place.

We had our St. Pat. dinner Friday. Frank had more today.

We made church and I was so happy to hear a male trio sing. They were so good. Of course I enjoyed the sermon too but I love special music. As Susan said a pretty day plus some wind. It is 62 right now so would be a good time for me to go water my plants. Forgot to yest.

Talked to DD in NC and she is so thrilled that her DD is coming from Canada for a 2 week visit. Little Gavin loves to "talk" on the phone, hope they are  using cell phones so won't cost so much. I just got a DVD from her (DGD) of the wedding. I had seen pictures but this had  more and was so nice to have so I can slip it in the player and sit back and watch.

Had to get three members get well cards ready before we left. Seems there are so many having troubles. Of course they are all older people, but  there are just too many all at once!

I'm glad Susan was here to say hi, I intended to call her today if she didn't show up, not that I couldn't anyway but I just get busy doing things and forget. I miss Marie too. I hope that sore heals in a hurry it has been too long!! I'm sure she feels that way too.

Now that I know how to get here, I feel better.  Need to go water the plants so will  be back tomorrow. Hugs, Betty

    Happy St. Patricks Day!  Beer

Overcast and rain here. Worse insomnia night in months. Maybe hour of sleep and some minute snatches. Feel okay. Probably won't hit me until tomorrow.

Javagal, so glad you found us. Nice to have DVD of DGD wedding. Good to have when you were not able to attend.

Louisa, hope you will soon be able to join us.

Susan and Marcella, hope you are having good day.

Hope Marie won't give up trying to get into new BB.

    Hugs all around. Deery

    Re: . . .~~ CHAT ON WHEELS ~~ . . . . . **2008**

Guess I'm all alone here today, or evening. Been a hectic day. Discussing finances with DH. He got his read out from the bank and we didn't know what a $25, deduction was for. Found out you have to keep a balance between your checking and savings or you get dunned. Since we weren't aware of that (they no doubt told us that 15+ years ago)  we have to pay. We were thinking of changing banks. Everyone said that was way too much to have to pay, and it will continue until we add to the savings. Where that will come from we have no idea!! I called another bank and he said that they had a similar thing but they dunned you $5.  There is another plan that does not include that rule so we may try that. DH gets so upset and does not hear me right and gets things so mixed up I feel like I could use a strong drink!! Sure would be nice if I had worked and had a pension coming in.

It was another beautiful day, got to 70, in fact it is 68 right now. I should have been outside instead of figuring finances!

We should be hearing from Louisa since she got her new computer. I hope the rest of you are just busy and not sick. Susan hope your hand swelling has gone down. I have been having trouble with my feet swelling. My shoes used to slip on, now I need a shoe horn. My left is much worse. Wonder why one side differs from the other.

Well, I haven't read the ads from Sunday so guess I will do that. Night all, hugs, Betty

Good morning everyone, a beautyful day and this afternoon 73 degrees. It looks like sunny California. We have not heard the critters in the wall and roof since last Monday after landlord put mouse and rat traps in the attic, he also put poison on the roof, were he thought they went in.

My hands are still in pain and some swollen, usually in the morning and put them under warm water and then in cold water and try to move them. Yesterday I did so much and today will take it easy, Sylvia is working everyday downtown Sacramento, had to ask her to put my garbage out it was getting to heavy and was tired. She did come by.

She still takes us grocery shopping since the wheelchair is getting to heavy for me and will damage my shoulder and arms. I can still take Marcella places where she don't need a wheelchair and can use her walker, like to have our hair cuts or restaurants or her dentist but grocery shopping she has to go in wheelchair or to the Mall.

Well I better get going, love to do nothing today but have to start on my taxes,I think I will do them on line. I work it out first on the booklet and then on line.

Have a lovely day, thinking of all!!  Hugs Susan

This recipe was posted by Elizabeth in PCH. We plan to make it if DH can find the pasta used.

      Frog Eye Salad

1 - 4oz. size pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix

1 3/4 c. milk or half and half

1/2 of a 16 oz. box acini de pepe   (found in the pasta dept.)

    1 c. thawed Cool Whip

1  -  15 oz can pineapple chunks or tidbits, drained

1  -  16 oz can fruit cocktail, drained

1  -  11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained

    maraschino cherries, drained

    minature marshmallows....about a handful

Mix pudding with the milk.  Set aside.  Cook acini de pepe. Drain and cool. Mix pudding and Cool Whip together.  Mix in the fruit and cherries, then the acini de pepe.  Regrigerate.  Serve chilled.  Refrigerate leftovers.

so my soul longs for you, O God.

Hi Susan and Javagal. We have had sunshine most of day but it is chilli out or I would have been outside to enjoy it.

Javagal, so stressful to talk finances and extra so when DH cannot hear every word said. Need to count to 10 and say a prayer. Hope you can find right Bank so you won't have extra charge.

Hi Susan, hope hands will feel better. Does warmer weather help? Glad that Marcella can manage with her walker for shorter distance.

Sending good thoughts and prayers for each and hoping other gals will be able to post.

    Hugs, Deery

    Re: . . .~~ CHAT ON WHEELS ~~ . . . . . **2008**

Hello to everyone!!  It's so good to be online again.  This Vista program is difficult to adjust to. I really preferred Windows XP.   None of the programs or discs I have will conform to Vista.  I had to get new programs.   Javagal, have you considered checking into credit unions?  They have all the guarantees and programs that the banks do - as well as CD's.  Our credit union has no penalities for small balances as well as a program for children.  They will give 5% for a child's account - start with a balance of $15 and deposit $15 every month in the child's account and the child will receive 5% up to a total of $1,500.00 - great way for a child to start saving.

Susan, you might not believe this for your hands.  Have you ever heard of the home remedy to put soap in your bed for leg cramps?  I did it for my DH and it worked.  Then I read an article where a woman had so much pain in her hands from arthritis that she held a bar of soap - two weeks ago we were playing our weekly domino game and I had severe pain in my left hand.  The woman we play with is a good friend so I thought nothing of getting a bar of soap and holding it in my left hand for the game.  I have no idea if it is just the power of suggestion (and many people laugh at home remedies) but the pain in my hand eased up a lot after 20/30 minutes. It's a cheap thing to try.

My 6 year old DGS called last night and asked to "sleep-over" tonight - it's spring break for Easter.  We are having a great time but I sure do know I'm no longer a spring chicken.  He tires us out!   Time to get ready for bed - tomorrow will be a busy day.

    Take care all,  Louisa

    Re: . . .~~ CHAT ON WHEELS ~~ . . . . . **2008**

I am confused. I had writen something the other day and it is somewhere but not here. I did see where you could see all your own messages and I think it was there, but not here. This is a little harder to figure out. Here it is the 18th and I know I wrote on the 17th and I was the only one at that time. Oh well, guess I'll  figure things out sometime.
I got one load of wash done, folded clothes then went for a nap. Really slept. Nothing else got done except reading the ads and making a list for the store. Have to wait until Thurs. as tomorrow is study day and it's too hard to go before and after the store is more crowded.

Hope everyone is well. Oh, I remember that I was so happy to hear that Louisa got her computer back. Love to hear from Marie. Susan, Cella and I have been enjoying wonderful weather. Night all. Hugs, Betty

Louisa, so good to have you posting again. What fun to have DGS overnight. DGC have spring break next week. DH will be taking care of the chickens and cats and we will babysit the 3 pet rats here at home. A little easier then an active young child. lol

Javagal, a message you posted on 17 is here. I know sometimes I cannot see something and get frustrated. Then later there it will be.

Wishing all a good night of sleep.
