    Doing Life Together
    By Dr. James MacDonald

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3

We have a commitment within our church family to nulldo life together.null Itnulls now an 18-year experiment which asks, nullIs there a group of people who will love one another no matter what and keep on going together for God?null Thatnulls the vision God has given to us-to love, forbear with, and forgive each other, growing together in Christ year after year. As you would expect, it takes a lot of sweat and tears.

Ephesians 4:2-3 hits the bullnulls-eye of how this commitment works. nullWalk . . . with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.null Eager to maintain means I am willing to work hard at unity-no matter what it costs me. This kind of sacrifice isnnullt about money or time, it drills down to the core of who you are. The strength behind this pledge is in the sacrifice of yourself .

Your opinions, your entitlements, your injured feelings-these are what you give up for the sake of unity. This is how far you will go to nulldo lifenull with your brother and sister in Christ. Always caring, always trying to work it out, always helping. Why, because you like the person? Not always. You do it because you want to honor God.

This concept of sacrificing yourself for the good of your brother was so foreign to the Greek and Roman culture at the time Ephesians was written that Paul had to coin a new word to describe it. He called this attitude humility -the choice to carry a weight rather than inflict a wrong. You may say, nullBut his opinion is wrong!null Perhaps. But if itnulls not a doctrinal issue or in conflict with what the Bible clearly teaches, swallow your argument and agree to disagree. What clearer evidence could there be that God is at work in you?

But what if someone disappoints you again after years of patience and love? You may say in frustration, nullDo I still have to put up with this?null The answer is, nullYes, you do.null God is watching how we treat each other and honors every time we roll up our sleeves to do the hard thing.

Thatnulls what wenullve signed up for in our church body. Though itnulls easier to tap dance out of relationships as soon as our weaknesses begin to show, wenullve decided to be followers of Christ who love each other anyway. We donnullt always get it right, but wenullre working hard at unity. Why? Because our eyes are on Christ and we want the One who humbled Himself and became obedient unto death to get the greater glory.

Chris:  That is such good advice!   Deb I hope you phone!

Char:  Praying for you, that you get everything that you need.   Honey, renting would be just as much as a mortgage.   It is six of one and half a dozen of another.  Just keep taking her back she will get used to it.  Tell her whatever she milks she can drink.

Deb:  Let other’s pick up the slack for now!  If the kids are there tell them they are in charge of keeping the house tidy and clean.  You have other things to worry about just now.    Holding you up, honey!

Koffee:  So great to see you!   Praying for you dear one!

Treasa:  That doesn’t sound good!   It sounds like either epilepsy or a stroke.   Praying for healing!

Mama:  Loves you and Daddy.  Praying for you!   I’m on my way to bed.

A big thank you to those who visited my dad's obit and signed the guestbook. I feel sad because most my dad's friends have already died, so it's nice to have people do that.

I'll be busy with the wake and funeral the next few days. John just took me shopping for some new clothes (I don't like getting dressed up. Can't wear jeans...). It was traumatic, but I'm done.

    Praying for all. Deb

     HI All!

Continuing to pray for Deb, that God will comfort and lead and guide in all the decisions that have to be made in the days, weeks, and months ahead.   Praying for all her family.

Praying for Koffee, that God would continue to strengthen and heal.  Praying for all others who are dealing with physical illness, disease, pain or just blahs or whatever, that God would heal and lift them back up.

God bless each of you today!

We are having a cold week here.  IT may snow down to our elevation at some time this week.

Thinking of cold makes me think of warm and Connie in the Dominican Republic.  Praying for her this week.

Re: Prayer Circle Tuesday March 25th, 2008

Prayers, PLEASE, but not for hubby this time.....

I hope you all don't think this is selfish of me.  I KNOW the children come first but I am thinking about the children in asking for this as well as myself.  Ok you all may know that I am in a very TOUGH situation where I work.  If I could quit I would but I'm 2 years away from my 25 years and 7 years away from 30 years.  I honestly don't know how long I can last (physically and mentally, seriously) but I'm praying for the Lord to just help me make it day by day , at least until my 25 years and then I'll weigh the situation.

I'm asking for prayers for a situation that will take place between March 31st and June 23rd.  I, in desperation, emailed every one of my state Education Committee members about what happened earlier this school year---with a WONDERFUL teacher (who LOVED her job and had PRICELESS 33 years experience working with special children) quitting because she was told she had to do a medical procedure that she just couldn't do.  This is NOT a squeamish woman.  When I say she's seen it ALL and had to deal with it ALL  in 33 years as a special ed teacher I can tell you she wouldn't have quit on a whim.   THANK GOD she is finally happy in her retirement, she sees it as a blessing and although her heart HURTS very much for what happened and the way she was treated she knows that God did her a favor by giving her the means to quit.  I'm so THANKFUL for that.

My prayer request is that a bill put up to help this situation never to happen again has been put on the voting session coming up.  PLEASE, if you can say a little prayer that this bill passes.  One of our state Education Committe members has been so wonderful enough to listen to me, understand where I'm coming from and has put up a bill to UNDO the WRONG wording that has caused all of this mess to even have taken place.  It's not a perfect solution but it's a GREAT beginning to at least possibly have this speak FOR a safe working environment for us and for the children.  I know it may not seem important to some of you but if this bill's passage can make it possible for NO one else to quit  or be forced to transfer over this it will have all been for the better.

I wasn't going to even bring it up again because I HAVE to move forward.  I HAVE to let it go or I won't be able to "heal".  I almost lost my mind over this whole situation this school year.  I lost working with a true, wonderful ,dedicated teacher and friend because of this and I still don't have job security to this day.  I just don't want any other person to have to be treated the way we were & are being treated (still at this time)this year or go thru what we have gone thru for fear of their jobs being taken away.  This will be the LAST time I bring it up and I won't go into any more details because it just HURTS too much.  Every time I think about it, talk about it or write about it is like "scratching a scab off of a healing wound".  I have to let it heal.  One day I will be finished with this job & I will have a life away from it and I want to get there healthy of body, mind & soul.  I'd just greatly appreciate your prayers for this bill to pass and for me to heal.  THANK YOU all so very much.  God Bless you & yours.

    Just to let you know.

Grannyfay isn't here because she can't post to the board.   She isn't having problems anywhere else, just here at Reiman's.

Please keep this in prayer so we can have her back quickly.

What did that naughty Fay do?

I was checking my blood sugar this morning (110), and Holland commented to her siblings that Grandma had blood on her finger. I heard Ellie say, "I hope she does not die." LOL!

I need to iron 2 shirts for all the men.  Have a good day! Deb

We were supposed to go to my parents today, but mom wasn't feeling good, so we stayed at home, and i am trying to push the kids into helping me clean the house. PUSH is the key word. I called DH and asked him when we were going away for a few days. Trying to get 2 teenage boys to clean their room is like trying to push water uphill!

    Prayers for all.
