Good morning Crea and CCers to follow

I'm on the go again.  Found out yesterday I must be in R for 3 meetings (again!!!) and will have a chance to catch up with the Western Ladies and a few husbands.  That will be a wonderful perk to more travel.

Where , oh where has this month gone?  I have so many winter tasks that still haven't been started.  Spring is starting behind the eight ball already.

Take care and hugs for those that need a liitle extra cybercare.  Claire, no more tricks!!

    Good Morning Crea and Friends.

Guess what snow called for tonight, Mr. Winter is not leaving us that easy.  He wants to be the BOSS of when he leaves.

Crea, hope you make out ok at the doctor's.

I'm working today not too far from home, and two hours tomorrow.

Char, maybe I can pick up a few jobs in and around your area.  It will take me awhile to get there.

Cookie  naughty Cookie, hanging goats on the trees, where did you get that picture?

Cathy, wow your mom is young, I thought she was an elderly person..lol. Here I am at 61 and no I don't mind giving my age it has never bothered me.

Yooper, are you sleeping in again?? Tucker wants his breakfast NOW...lol.

Katie, when do you leave for your DD?

Ada, you seems like such a sweet lady, so active, it seems like you never stop.

Meesh, what has Cameron been doing this week? How was your lunch yesterday with your DF?

    Have a great day.

    Good Morning Everybody!

Up early this morning - back wasn't cooperating all night so I decided to just get up as it's fine as long as I'm standing.....or kneeling, which is the case here.

I HAVE managed to get two loads of laundry done this morning and heading to fetch the third.  I guess there ARE advantages to getting up early, aren't there?  LOL

Sewing again today, and probably tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the day after that too.

No snow!  The snow missed us completely and I am HAPPY!!!  It's going to be a cloudy day, but I'll take the clouds over the snow anyday of the week!

If you could, could you say a prayer for my mom today?  She went into the hospital yesterday and received two transfusions and fluids, with two more scheduled for today.  I talked to her late last night and she was feeling a LOT better, but not 100%, which she needs to be before she can come home.  Anyway, if you could whisper a prayer for her today.

Make it a great day everybody!

    Re: Canadian Corner 27/03/08

Crea - It wasn't real sudden, she's been feeling more run-down by the day and it finally got to the point that she had had enough and went into the ER yesterday morning.  A little background - my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989 (who knows how long before that she had it).  After getting the diagnosis, she just went on with her life and never sought treatment for it.  In the winter of 2004 when my parents were at their house in Arizona, because of a horrible pain, she went to the Mayo Clinic there and from there she flew back home and started cancer treatments.  She's been extremely fortunate as she's never gotten sick from any of the chemo treatments that she's had over the last 4 years and has been able to carry on with business-as-usual.  However, the last chemo treatment that she had was hard on her and it has depleted a lot of the "good" things in her blood to the point where she could barely hold her head up anymore - just plain wore out, tired, etc.  She's gone in for transfusions in the past, just not for 4 units at one crack.  When I talked to her last night she was tons perkier than she's been in the last few weeks!  She'll hopefully be able to come home by the weekend, she just wants to make sure that she's "fixed" before she leaves the place or she's not going!  LOL  I can't say that I blame her - she's sick and tired of feeling the way she had been.

Oh, I was going to mention and forgot - my mom has the type of breast cancer that John Kerry's (former Presidential candidate) wife has.  There is no cure for it - you just continue to deal with it as it flares up.  In other words, a masectomy or things like that don't work for this type of cancer from what she's always been told.  Luckily it's not a fast-growing cancer - heck, she was diagnosed with it nearly 30 YEARS ago and is still standing!

    Good morning, ladies!

Pat! Winter projects that haven't been started? Eeeek. Maybe you should just save them for next year...better yet, skip them altogether. What the heck, if they haven't been started, who's going to miss them? lol

Crea, good luck with your appointment today. Hope it doesn't start to sNOw until you're back home again.

YF, maybe you should forget about working in Char's neighborhood. That would be a heck of a commute! By the time you got there, you'd already be a week late:)

Ms. Pickle, don't remember that you mentioned that your mother was sick, but then I forget things as soon as I read them:(  Is this something that just happened in the past few days?

Sheesh! It seems like we get up later and later. Now that it's daylight before 6, you'd think we'd be getting up earlier! It's not supposed to sNOw today but not too warm, either. Right now it's -9. At least the street and sidewalks are clear so that we can walk.

Katie! Is this the day you leave? Guess we'll "see" you when you get back. Have fun and cuddle that little one for me.

Omigosh, Ms. Pickle...you posted while I was typing. She was diagnosed in 1989 and didn't get treated until 2004? How fortunate she's been! Hope she's right as rain soon.

My mom's been VERY fortunate!  She got her diagnosis in 1989 and promptly put it out of her mind.  She never gave it another thought and it never gave her cause to pause.  She just carried on as if she had never gotten word that she had it.  Once the doctor's hear that, first they look at her as if she's gotten the year confused.  Then she produces the diagnosis paper and they're just shocked!  They DO all agree that the reason that she's probably still standing is because she DIDN'T get treated for it back then as today's treatments have come a LONG way since 1989.  Oh, and I rarely mention it on the bb as there's never anything to mention.  She's just been able to go about her life just as you & I do so there's never anything to "report" thankfully.  Heck, a small patch of Diverticulitis a couple of years ago has caused more problems than all of her cancer problems combined!  That landed her in the hospital for nine WEEKS!

Good morning! YF- The lunch with my friend and her mom, my mom, Cameron & DF's GS was fun! It was only to Mcdonald's but we had a nice visit. I brought cupcakes for her b-day and sent some home for her daughter who couldn't make it.

As Pat said, we get to catch up with her  & her DH on the weekend! That will be nice!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone;  DH and I have been painting inside and now in process of doing the sunroom walls and ceilings.  It's 34' by 9'....so lots to do.   Sore muscles everywhere,  and  feeling as if we were old.  smile  That's why I've been scarce here.  When I finish 'work', I flop.

Yes,  Pat has an unexpected visit to our city,  so we managed to quickly arrange a get-together for Sat. supper-time.  I'm looking forward to meeting Meesh's DH and see the others again.

The weather comes and goes....we think it's warming up and ....bang....another snow-dump or whatever.  DH heard a robin yesterday,  so I guess they think it's warming up.  Hope they're right.  Sparrows are hauling nest-building materials so they think so too. Are we smarter than sparrows?  Dunno

    Good morning CCers.

Crea, Good luck at the Drs. today. Keep your weather to yourself please. We finally got to shut our heat off & I want it to stay that way.

We got the bathroom walls & ceiling all done. How can one little room mess up the whole house? But I have to be honest & say part is from the utility room too. Got to get everything out today, the carpet guy is coming in the morning. Woo hoo, hopefully I'll get it put back together before we leave next week.

Yoopers, prayers for your mother. My Mom had a mastectomy in 86 & she is 99 now. Still able to stay in her own house. Of course I take her meals & she has home health 5 days a week & they clean her house once a week. DS#2 stays with her at night. If we had to take her out of her house, she wouldnt last long. That's her security.

    Katie enjoy that new baby.

YF, I'll get an email to you as soon as I can. Still can't send from incredimail, but I receive mail there. Sometimes I forget to check yahoo. Ask Crea. LOL

Gotta get busy, lots to do before DH turns water off to take sink out.

    TTYL.

I'd better get a move on...have some library items to return and I want to get out and back and doing things before the weather moves in...it's already feeling an icy 1C, rather than yesterday's warm and soft 1C

     Have a good day, all!!

    Morning everyone.

Someone asked... where did March go?   I ask that too -  I sure don't remember the days flitzing by so fast when I was young... but that was before the days of computers.  I think we had less to do them because we just lived and didn't have all these modern "time saving paper saving" appliances and gadgets in our homes.  so we just tackled the chores and fed the kids and had fun with our friends over a cup of coffee and a fresh cinnamon bun.

Thats what I remember.  ...  now I can barely keep up reading the emails and blogs and boards and who cares about the dishes on the counter.  LOL

Paulette, I'm saying a prayer for you mom.

Well, my coffee's ready and my days begun so Have a great day everyone.  SYAL
