Good morning all.  We should get into mid 60's today, will have some wind but at least not howling.  Not working again today so may take machine out and sew up some squares.  My rolls turned out well, have some giant ones and some nice size ones but will work for Friday night, so that is good.  Supper is pea soup with quinoa and last of my squash/pumpkin rolls.

Margie, glad you had such a good time with DS and her GK's.  Hope you have a nice time outside today.

Jan, will be praying for you and John and his surgery.

Hope you all have a good day.  Will check back later.

    Happy Thursday!

    Hello my June sisters!

Not sure what I'm doing today, I'm sure I'll find something!  Got a couple nice big boxes at the store yesterday, so I can get started on packing them up with things I'm getting rid of.  I think I'll give Easter Seals a call, they come to town once or twice a month to pick up donations. I'll see if they'll pick up out here.

I am making cheesy broccoli soup for supper.  Last night I tried Jill's Baked Sesame Chicken,  TERRIFIC!  I really liked it!  Thanks Jill, definitely a keeper.  I also added the syrup the last few minutes, seems to glaze them - great idea!

Jan - Keeping your dh in my prayers.  Sorry to hear he has to have major surgery.  I just know you will be most wonderful caregiver for him.  Praying for you also for strength.   big hugs!

Margie - Enjoy the nice weather today.  I actually heard in the forecast for late next week we could finally hit the 60 mark!  Glad you had such a nice time with sis yesterday!

    hugs..............patti

Good Morning, I'm going to pop in here quickly this morning. It's raining here this morning -- Suppose to most of the day. Just heard that we are under a flash flood watch until tomorrow afternoon.Sad  Temp in the upper 50*s today.  Yesterday was beautiful sunny and temp got up into the 70*s. Big Smile

Dh's boss called yesterday after Dh got home from work - There is a piece of machinery that broke -- So the part for it won't be in until later this morning. So he is going to call alittle later this morning and see what is going on, etc.

So I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. LOL...

Patti~ Will keep Royce in my prayers. Hugs...

Jan~ My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dh. Hugs...

*Waving* to all of the junes~~ Have a great day.  DebSmile

    Good morning everyone!

39º here with rain/snow showers moving thru, supposed to be like this today, tonight & tomorrow - yuck!

We made it to the dress shop & got Shelly's dress ordered (YEA!!), should be in by first of next week. Only about 4 weeks until prom, so I'm glad that's taken care of; most of her friends have had their dresses/gowns. Now it's on to shoes, hairstyle, etc., LOL!!

Need to call dr's office when they open; Danielle's energy & appetite has been down, and yesterday I found that the glands in her neck are swollen, so need to take her in & see what's wrong.

I did get to go out with my gf last evening, we met uptown at the little restaurant, had a bite to eat & chatted for a couple hours - was so nice to relax & get caught up!!

Margie, goodness that's a big list of chores, hope the kids will help you - more time to play then!! Is Emily enjoying her spring break? Glad you had such a good time with your sis & the GK's, looking forward to pictures!!

Jill, sounds like a very nice day, hope the wind behaves! Enjoy the sewing! How is your finger doing?

Patti, supper sounded very good, I have that chicken on my list to try also! Are the boys enjoying spring break? Keeping Royce & you in thoughts & prayers.

((Jan)) keeping John & you close in thoughts & prayers; I know you'll take great care of him!!

Need to get breakfast & more coffee, will check in later. Hope each of you has a great day!!

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 3/27/08

Morning everybody. Slept better last night. I think my mask had an air leak the night before which would explain why I was so tired and why I woke up with a headache that went away as soon as I got up. Tightened it up a lot last night and I feel fine this morning.

Glad you had a good day with your sister, Margie. Hope you are able to get pictures resized.

Deb, hope they are able to get the part for the machine that is broken. That must be the machine your DH works on.

Patti, glad you are finally going to get some good weather for a change. Sending prayers for you and Royce.

Jan, sending prayers for you and John.

Jill, sewing sounds nice. Hope your finger is doing better. Sending prayers for Holly. I think her surgery is the same day I have jury duty.

Sheila, congrats to DH on new job

Lisa, glad you were able to get Shelly's dress.

To whoever was asking about the house, I haven't been doing as much on it lately. I will probably finish the vinyl tile in the kitchen in the next couple of days. Gregg's friend Charlie who is the one who has done most of the work has the bedroom that had all the damage to lay laminate tile in and then if there is enough laminate he will do the laundry room in that. After that he has to try to figure out how to put the locks back together which will be a major chore. There are a couple of reasons why I'm not working on it so fast. One is that my budget is pretty tight right now and another is that I am trying to pick up extra registry days in order to be able to get some stuff done over there like get the motor on the A?C replaced and get the cooler working. Those are priorities since it is starting to get hot here. It was 88 yesterday. Still waiting on some of the blue stake people to mark the water line. That way we can work on some fence poles and getting the chain link fence done. Still waiting to hear back on whether the one lady is going to rent it or not. What is left is mostly minor stuff, but stuff that neither or us know much about. Plumbing things and heating/cooling things mostly, neither of which are cheap, that's why I'm trying to get the extra hours in. Working at county today. JHACO is not supposed to be there today. Next week might only work one registry day. Depends if I can get the vacation day that was reposted. Probably can't since I have fairly low seniority.

Yesterday it got up to 70 degress. It was such a beautiful day. I opened all the windows and the house smelled fresh. Today I'm going to do laundry and hang them outside. I think nothing feels and smells better than sheets hung outside! I always dry my clothes outside in the summer. I usually save about 20 dollars on my electric bill in the summer.

Jill, I live in western NE and DS is going to school in CO. It's about 45 miles from here, so he'll be able to come home on weekends.

I best go wake up DS so he can jump in the shower, Hoping all have a great sunny day!

    Smiles,

    Sheri

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 3/27/08

    Good Morning!!

Yesterday I had a very lazy day.  I did not do anything except go to my therapy appointment.  I was too tired.  I didn't even clean up my dinner mess except for putting the leftovers in the fridge.  My therapy went well.  I have new exercises to do.

We had snow last evening.  Not much thankfully.  Supposed to get more tonight and into tomorrow morning.  They say it is supposed to be rain/snow mixed, but it sure wasn't last night.  We had the biggest flakes I have ever seen.  I hope the snow holds off until I can get back from pool therapy.  These people don't know how to drive in it.

A cooking question.  Can I use cracker crumbs in place of breadcrumbs in meatballs?  I don't have enough bread crumbs, and can't make anymore as we have just enough bread to make it till payday.  I might try my hand at bread making tomorrow.

Jill, I am not sure what caused the problem in my right knee, but I think it was the stairs as I have most of my range of motion back in the one already.  I injured my left knee in 1992 and had surgery on it in 1995.  The surgeon basically reconstructed the back of my kneecap and reset it where it belonged.  Apparently when I injured it in 92, the kneecap jumped and that went undiagnosed for 2 years.

Hope everbody has a wonderful Thursday.  Sending prayers up for those in need of them.   Time to go wake the kids for the day.

    Hi Junes

A sunny day, temps now in the high teens, should hit 30 today!!!  Kids are getting anxious for spring break to start, only today and tomorrow and then 1 week off!!  We aren't going anywhere, the kids will have friends over, maybe go to a movie, just little things.  Will be nice to not have to get up so early everyday.  Casey is home right now, she had a high fever last night, gave her Tylenol durin the night and let her sleep late, seems to be feeling better.  If she feels well enough, I will bring her back to school after lunch.    Have alot of little jobs to get done during the next few weeks, need to have the house in order as Casey is making her 1st Communion on May 3rd, and we will have a house full of company.

Margie, hope the kids help with all your chores today!

Jill, could you send me your granola recipe?  Karl wants to start eating homemade granola,  thought of you right away!

Patti, will keep you and Royce in our prayers,  hopefully winter will end soon and jobs will be pouring in.

Deb, is DH off today??   Hope you two have a nice day together!

Sherry, you can send some of that heat our way!!!   Will you sell one of your houses when you are finished?

Lisa, nice you got out for an evening - always good to catch up!  So.....what does THE DRESS look like?  Hope you send pics when you get it!

Sheri, I love hanging clothes out - they always smell so fresh!!  Western NE, do you get alot of snow??  Are you in a plains area?

Need to check on Casey, I think she is playing with the dog, looks like school is in her near future!!!

Here is my granola recipe.   Hope Casey does feel better.  glad temps will get up to 30 at least.  Hope it warms up for you all soon.

    Jill

    Granola 6 cups rolled oats
1- 1/2 cups flaked coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
1- 1 1/2 cups nuts ( I use mix of almonds and walnuts) chopped
1 1/4 cups apple juice ( I use about 1/2 cup frozen concentrate and keep rest frozen for continued use and add water to make one cup)
1- 1 1/2 cups dried fruit (raisins, craisins, cherries, etc)
1 cup oat bran - optional
1 cup gd flax seed- optional

Mix oats, coconut, nuts and if using bran and flax. Mix well and add liquid and stir to coat. Lay out on 2 sheet cake pans and place in 300º oven. Stir every 20 min and remove and toasted/golden pieces. towards the end I check about every 10 min. REally varies as to how long but about 1 hr total. Put in bowl and allow to cool a bit then add fruit. Store in airtight containers.

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 3/27/08

Good morning, got to spend some time outside last night.  My tulips and daylillies are starting to come up.  Can't wait to see them blooming.  We put up the deer stand that Phil got for Christmas.  I'm thinking that maybe when it warms up I'll take a book up there to read.  As a child I loved to read up in my tree fort.  Once again I don't have the boys.  That'll make for a very small paycheck.  O well.

I cut Phil's hair before he left for work this morning.  I'll have to get to Dalton's later today.  I need to bake bread today too.  This evening is the memorial service for Phil's coworkers girlfriend.  I sure hope this is the last one for a very long time.  In the past 5 months, we have known 8 people who have passed away.

Margie, lucky you, such warm temps & sunshine enjoy them.  Glad you had a good time with your sis and her grandkids.

Patti, will be keeping you & Royce in my prayers.

Laura, congrats to dd & her soccer team.

Shelia, congrats to dh for the new job.  Have fun looking at houses.

Jan, sorry to hear that dh has to have surgery, will be keeping you & him in my prayers.  Don't underestimate yourself, I am sure you will do just fine caring for dh.

Kim, am hoping that p.t. will help you feel painfree soon.

Deb, does the part being broke mean dh doesn't have to go into work?

Lisa, glad you were able to find the "right" dress.

Sheri, I hang my clothes out too.  Usually year round.  Our back porch faces the south and every fall we put clear plastic around it.  I have a clothes line on the porch so I am able to use it when the weather is bad.

Well, guess I had better bring this to an end.  It has only taken me 40 minutes to type this,  the kids keep interrupting me for one thing or another.  So, hello to all I have missed, hello to all who posted while I was typing and hello to all to come after me.  Enjoy your day.

    Becky

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 3/27/08

Margie the kids are cute.  Don't overdo it today and get out and enjoy the nice weather

Deb, so did you all get to sleep in today?  Your weather sounds a day ahead of us.

Kim, hope PT continues to work.  You've been working hard and your body probably needed that rest yesterday.  Water therapy sounds good too.

Patti glad you liked the chicken.  I'm thinking of making it Sunday.  We don't have anyone who will come out to pick up stuff unless it is furniture.  I take mine to Goodwill in town.  Sounds like you are getting alot done.

Lisa, glad you got to go out with your friend and also got the dress ordered.  Hope Danielle feels better soon.

Sherry, it's probably been good for you to take a break from the other house.  Did you ever get in the pool yesterday?  Was the ac up that high at work that you were cold?  I don't like being hot but don't like freezing at work either.

Sheri, sounds like you had a great day yesterday.  That's nice your son won't be too far away.

Becky, guess the snow is starting to melt if you can see the daylilies and tulip leaves.  My day lilies are coming up nicely too.  What colors do you have?  I have yellow, some reds, rust, "white", lavendar.  Love those things.  Reading in a tree fort sounds like it would have been fun.  Guess there is a comfy chair in the deer stand?

Was outside for a bit and it is gorgeous out.  Warming up but not hot, sunny and NO WIND at least not yet.  :)  Guess i'll head out in a little.  Did one section of sewing of squares and then decided to see how it would work without sewing, now that I know what I'm doing.  I may stop sewing the squares and go to ironing them into smaller squares.  So much faster and easier.  Have to see how it goes when I work with it first.  Talked with Ed earlier and he may come home early to work outside since it is so nice.

    Hi girls,

sounds like the weather in improving for most of you.  YEAH!!!!!

I was so busy yesterday.  I was just motivated to get a lot of things done around here that I had been putting off.  Feels so good.  Ray and Tommy planted the veggie garden for me yesterday evening.  Happy that is finally in.

Well, I have to cut this short - Jason is moving VERY slow this morning and I think I need to prod him along.  He only has today and then minimum day tomorrow and then he is off for the entire month of April.

    Will be back in later

    Hugs,

    kathleen
