I Made up a Peach Cake - and it's GOOD!

I was going to make the apple pie filling cake recipe posted a couple of days ago but I didn't have any apple pie filling, so I substituted and came up with this:

    Peach Cake

1 box butter pecan cake mix

1 29-oz. can sliced peaches - do not drain

    3 eggs

Cut up the sliced peaches into smaller pieces, then mix the cake mix, peaches, and eggs together.  Bake in a greased 9x13 pan at 350 for 35 minutes or until the cake springs back when touched.  The peaches will drop to the bottom and the cake stays on top.  Serve with vanilla ice cream or cool whip.  The cake tastes better the day after it's baked although it smells so good you won't be able to resist snitching a piece as soon as it's cool!

Ok questions as I wanna make it right!

Mix just those ingredients and not the cake batter as usual right?

You used sliced peaches and not the peach pie filling is that also right?

It sounds so good.  Thank you....

Yep, just peaches, not peach pie filling.  They were also juice packed peaches, not the ones in heavy syrup.  And mix just three things - the canned peaches, the dry cake mix, and the three eggs.  Nothing else.

I sent some over to my father-in-law and he actually called today to tell me it was so good and moist - he loved it.  That was nice to hear!

Hi back at ya!  Nope - still got it.  Went to the doc this morning and got some good cough syrup with codeine - I hope to be able to sleep tonight for the first time in a week!  Talk to you soon!

Where do you get butter pecan cake mix?? I haven't heard of that flavor.

Sounds yummy.... think I'll have to try it with yellow cake mix and add some chopped pecans!

Kathy, I found the butter pecan cake mix at our local IGA.  Maybe they don't carry it in your area.  I think your idea sounds good, though!
