What did David think about his sister? When my gs had to share me with gd he thought we should take her some other place or just let her cry.

We are going to friends house tonight and I am taking a strawberry shortcake, the way dm made them. Stips of pie crust (cooked first) with strawberries and topped with whip cream. It is an hours drive from here and hope I can keep it cold until we get there. The cooler we have is to small for the dish I had planned on useing.  Mel is going to take a bottle of wine, so we have to go by get that before we go.

Good morning, it's SNOWING.   Yep.   Jake's bedtime was a battle royale last night, he was up til almost 10.   He got up at 6;15, so I can't stay long.   Today he has school, Tim has a dr appt at 10:45 and I have to run by the library.     Still don't know what is going on for date day tomorrow.

Congratulations Debbie and welcome baby Delainey  :)  Such a pretty (and BIG!) baby  :)    I hope David was excited when he saw her.

I give myself an A- for yesterday's healthy eating.   Spread my points out better, but the only veggies I got in were a starch, and I didn't drink nearly enough water.    Also forgot to take my vitamin.

Ok, I hear crashing.  I will be back in a little while.

    Good morning.

Well,  I wouldn't say David was excited to see her,  more happy to see his daddy.  He just kind of watched her.  Probably thinking,  what is she doing in this room.   She is already a finger sucker.  She got mad and she started sucking on 2 of her fingers.

Miriam,  do you have a Christopher & Banks store anywhere near you.   That is the one place I found some jeans that actually fit me.  I love their clothes.  Not sure what brand they are,  I'll look later for you.  But possibly their own store brand.  But they don't gap in the back, plus they are only about 1" or so below what would be a normal waist.

Thanks for posting Debbie.    Thanks to everyone who has prayed for her and sent good wishes over the last year, it's been very much appreciated.    She passed away at around 9:30 this morning, but it took a little while for my dad to get home so he could tell my mom and then call my sister and I.     Tim's gone to work, and even though I knew this was coming, I'm taking it hard.     She was just such a spitfire, quick to laugh, fun person.   I was her "favorite".   I took her Christmas shopping (she didn't drive), and listened to her stories.   She taught me to knit, how to cook, we always lived with them, first in a 2 story, then my dad built them an apt when he built our new house.     Per her wishes, there will be no wake or funeral.

I haven't told Jake yet, I have no idea what to say.

I'm sorry if I'm not around for a few days.     Tomorrow is supposed to be "date day" and my mom is insisting they are still going to take Jake, but I really think it will be too much for her.

    Good Morning!

Dusta, it is dreary here today too but still wondering if we can hit some y.s. before the training session later at church.  It looks like it rained last night and it 55 degrees.  How did your veggie soup come out?

Jet, sorry you have been sick. :(

Muril when I started making the soup discovered I didn't have any chicken broth and it does taste the same. The next day I went back and got some, also a couple of yellow squash and roasted them in the oven. Perk it up.

This is something they had last night that I liked. She took some lunch meat ham that is oblong, spread it with cream cheese, thin layer and rolled it around picked okra. Cut it in pieces, maybe 1/2 inch in size. Layed it on a serving dish, it was pretty. When she rolled the ham around the okra, just enough times so it would hold together. I hope this makes sense, it was good.

    Hi All!

Dusta, the soup sounds good, so does the ham/okra rolls. Bet they would be good with the dried beef too.  BTW, I made something with the dried beef before- think it was the pickle rolls like Jen makes or mabe it was cream cheese/ pretzel stick rolls- anyway, I didn't rinse the beef with warm water first and it was way too salty. That will teach me not to read the back of the bottle.  :)  Miss Nancy doesn't know how lucky she is that I read it before I made the creamed chipped beef.lol Otherwise, it would have been so salty neither of us could have eaten it. :)

Not sure what is for supper- maybe scrambled eggs- that always works in a pinch. :)

Good morning. Suppose to be nice here today, high 70's and not rain. I usually bring some books in case weather is bad or Mel isn't feeling well (have several that I have not read) I didn't this time, Hope I can find a Sam's in this area. Katrina destroyed the library on this base and they haven't rebuilt it, there is one on the Air Force base but it is 15 miles from here, might go there. I have too many books, if that is possible, really don't need to buy more.

Jolene thinking about you and your family. ((  ))
