Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, April 1!

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. Today is a very good day to shake off the weekend and get down to business. I really enjoyed my Republic Lucky Irish Breakfast Tea this morning. It is so smooth yet full flavored you can't go wrong. I wish I could say that I am a blur this morning, because that would at least mean I was in purpose filled motion, but I have to settle for small victories of work, hard won.

The kitchen hasn't even squeeked at me to cook or bake so I have to settle for it remaining clean and tidy for the time when I do get inspired.

Yesterdays snowfall has melted away and our weatherman assures that it is the last we will see until next season. I think he was actting under threat of unhappy happy spring flingers to deliver good news.

It is time to get out my iced tea pitchers to be prepared for refreshment and top on my list of teas to make is 'Numi Minty Green'. Now there is a wonderful tea that never disappoints me. With large qt size bags there is no guesswork or measuring.

The gardens are as busy as a Macy's sale and it is clear they aren't going to let a little chill spoil their show. The weeds are laughing at all my efforts to contain their growth.

My Harpsicle Harp arrived and I must say I am very delighted with both the craftmanship and ease of play. It is so light I can take it with me anywhere and the sound is very soothing. For the lapharp I wholeheartedly advise buying the harpstick which screws into the soundboard and provides stability and balance to the harp. I purchased mine from ebay for an excellent savings.

Dear Anne, Thank you so much for the recipe, I will be trying that one very soon. I am delighted that you enjoyed both Ericas cooking and lovely company. I hope that soon Grandpa will be home and able to enjoy some simple comforts. Where there is a will, there is a way and I will find it.

If there is one thing that always puts a spring my my heart, its a good walk and when I can finally give up my heavy coat I will take to the woods and see what winter has left behind. A very good choice for boots is Doc Martin. If you have the grand fortune of having one of their pairs of flowered lace ups, then you have smiles coming towards you.

Make tea, live well and be happy. Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Good morning, girlfriends!  Hope everyone is well rested and ready to take on this week with  a storm.

Earl forgot to turn the alarm on last night so we woke up in a panic only to find out we were totally ok and on time.  Our alarm is actually gentle chimes that go off.  Earl got it for me for Christmas one year as he knows how much I enjoy chimes.

Smiles and hugs sent to everyone!

Karen, it was good to see you do a separate post.  I hope we will see you posting here everyday as we miss hearing from you.  congrats on those good grades!

    Hugs

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, April 1!

Hello, hello! #2 son and I got back from SC on Sunday, and I'm just now catching up with the events here. Mary, so sorry to hear about Grandpa's situation but I had to smile just reading about you and your harp. Now that is an accessory for a Tea Angel if I ever heard of one.

We had a good visit with my folks -- DS & I cleared out file cabinets for Mom, he poisoned some fire ant nests in her yard, and we had some good visits with Dad. One day he was especially cheerful and a little bit mischievous, smiling and winking and even sticking his tongue out at me! He is a mess. Also we made a quick trip down near Charleston to see my in-laws and that was just a treat.

Then today I went in to work not even knowing what my schedule was for the week. I thought "wouldn't it be nice if I was scheduled to get off early today?" And lo and behold, I was. I got off at noon and had time to run errands and buy groceries and still be home when #2 son arrived from school. It was just a little serendipity today.

I'm sipping some green tea and enjoying all your events. Good to be back!

Mary, sweetie...my thoughts and prayers are always with you and Grandpa Harry. I know you must be torn between the desire to have him home and the relief that must be to have someone else in charge for just a bit.

I'm sorry to say I haven't been reading/keeping up very well the past two weeks, but I think of you all often and hope that you're all enjoying the season that is now TRYING, at least in Michigan, to bless us :)

I'm blessed by my Sisters in Tea and thank you all for sharing your day-to-day happenings with all of us.

Last week was the 7th anniversary of my dear mom's death and I miss her so. BUT I'm blessed in so many other ways, including your friendship...and I thank you.

    {{{hugs}}}

Mary, YGM....prayers for you are ongoing.

Good evening angels,  It has been cold here today.  We were in the 70-80 last week and today the high was in the mid 50's.  We are suspose to have a freeze tonight.  I think they said it was suspose to get down to about 30.  I am ready for it to get back up to  80.  the wind  was really blowing also and that is what made it more chilly.

Susie,  I was thinking about you this weekend.  I was wondering where you were at.  I thought you had slipped away on vacation.  Glad you are doing ok.  Missed you

Kathy,  I know all about the clock thing.  I told you a while back that is the internal clock that will keep you on time.  Mine short circuits sometimes and that is why I automatically wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Mary,  Play us a tune on your harp.  I can hear the sweet sounds coming from it now.  Be careful on your walk in the woods.  It is probably muddy with all the rains and snow melting.

Elza,  Glad you made it home safe and sound.  You need to rest and relax now.  It is nice to have a half day.  I think I need a half day also.  Have a great evening.

Well,   I need to get off here and go clean up the kitchen.  Family had  potato soup on this chilly evening.    Have a great evening and a restful night dearest angels.

    Hugs and sweet dreams

    Carole

Good morning, girlfriends.  Hope your day will be filled with lots of love and laughter and remember to share smiles with people you encounter.

It has been rough, here at the office.  Yesterday, on of my 23 year old staff got a call at the office that her mother had suddenly died.  The feeling of holding someone in my arms as they find out their mother died was terrible.  It just made me realize how fragile life really is.  I attended a funeral once officiated by a baptist minister and his message to us was "When God calls you don't put him on hold".  How true is that.  I had one of the other girls drive her home and haven't heard from her since.  My heart goes out to her.  She is a young single girl wtih a 2 1/2 year old son.

    Hugs

Kathy and Kay -- praying for you both today, and for Kathy's co-worker. That is a difficult situation -- DH has been through that with co-workers a couple of times and it is hard.

Donelle, your niece makes me think of my oldest son (now 22). When he was about 2 he went through a real daddy-attachment stage and had no interest in me whenever his dad was around. I was okay as long as DH was at work, but as soon as he came home, I was not needed. It was kind of nice (Dad had to read stories, give baths, put pajamas on, put him to bed) but it also did kind of hurt my feelings! He would say "Mommy, you can go in the other room. Daddy is reading me a story." He got over it, though, and I'm sure your niece will too. In the meantime, we're glad to see you here more regularly!

I'm planning my flowers -- I always put impatiens in the bed by the front door, they love that spot. Last year I did the New Guinea ones but I think I'll go back to the regular ones this year. Maybe red. I did pinks last year, but this year I am thinking red impatiens, and in the other flower bed marigolds to go in front of the orange daylilies. However, the rule of thumb here is "nothing in the ground before Derby" so it will be early May before I plant anything!

EMR I'm guessing you are around Tennessee?  That is really fun to read what you are planting and thinking of colors for your flowers....Texas can't grow everything, but boy do we try!  I love impatiens, do you get a lot of shade?  Marigolds with orange daylilies would be gorgeous!

Everyone tells me that about my niece, but sometimes because we look SO MUCH ALIKE i often wonder if people at the stores think I pinch her or something because she really likes to pitch a fit.....if i make a game out of it, she'll stop but I don't always have the energy to do so....just happy the 2's will be over soon!

    Have a lovely day!

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, April 1!

Good evening angels,  Oh for it to be so cold here this morning it has turned out to be a beautiful day.

Kay,  sorry to hear about your Bible study group.  Prayers are with you.

Elza,  I can plan all I want to design a flower gardern.  But, I have a black thumb and can not grow anything.  THe ground here is hard red clay, can't get anything to grow.  Mama lives across the road and she has good soil on her side and can grow anything.  Makes me sick.  When is Derby anyway?

Donnelle,  My neice is like that with me too.  When she shys away from me I tell her, you will want something one day.  Your neice will come around.

Kathy,  The guy in our shipping department, his father passed away yesterday also.  THe lady that works with him called and told us about it after he left.  He was real close to his father and she said he had just talked to him a few hours earlier.  She almost made us cry just talking about it.  So I know how you feel.  If we could of been over there with him we would of held him also and just cried with him.  So my prayers are with your co-worker and with mine.

Mary,  Hope you are doing ok today.  Take care.

Well supper is going to be easy tonight.  I have cooked up some smoked sausage with peppers and onions and then I had a couple of  left over baked potatoes that I cubed up and browned in a skilet with some bacon grease for a little extra flavoring.  That is supper.  Super easy.

Well I hear the laundry calling.  Got to run.  tr to get back later

    Hugs

    Carole
