    Turkey Soup Recipe Request

I have a leftover turkey bird in my freezer that I want to use to make a turkey soup. I've never made it so I'd appreciate your recipes. Thanks!  Wink

HI Tammy! I was thinking about you the other day! I hope you are well!

Here is a great recipe I use every year!

    Lentil Noodle Soup Mix

    1/4 cup of red lentils
2 tbsp of dried minced onion
1 1/2 tbsp of chicken bouillon granules
    1/2 tsp of dill
    1/8 tsp of celery seed
    1/8 tsp of garlic powder
    1 bay leaf
1 cup of uncooked egg noodles

    Place ingredients in a jar.

    (recipe using previous mix)

    Turkey Noodle Soup

    2 tbsp of vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 carrots, peeled & chopped
    3 stalks of celery, chopped
1 jar of Lentil Noodle Soup Mix
    8 cups of water
    2 cups of cooked turkey

Heat oil in a large stockpot. Add the onion, carrots and celery. Saute unitl the vegetable are tender. Add the Lentil Noodle Soup Mix and the water and bring to a boil. reduce to simmer. Add cooked turkey and simmer until noodles and lentils are done.

    Hi Tammy,

I hope you try the soup, it is a nice easy recipe.

So are you in a new house? Or the same house as before you were going to move down here?

Glad you are back on line. It is enough to drive a person batty, but you can sure get alot of housework done!

It has been a fabulous winter here and DH and I were talking that it would have been an ideal time had you moved here.As far as being in the trailer for winter. But now they have the ones rated for -40* and you can live in them year round The snow is gone for the most part and we are having very nice spring temperatures.  The gesse and ducks are back, a sure sign of nice weather!

Hope things are going well for you!

Take care and talk to you soon!

No Redawna, we are still living in our fifth wheel. It is brand new (purchased in December for the move to Canada) and has an arctic insulation package. We are toasty warm. I am not going to purchase a home or land until our property in the Alaska bush sells. I couldn't imagine having both mortgages going at once. We are going to look at buying a small piece of land and building a small house. We have had big houses and mortgages that were out of control huge. Don't want to do that again. Besides, I don't want to clean it all the time!

We saw ducks this past weekend too. And new spring was coming. Then we got hit with a blizzard! How do you like that!!!

I'm glad I'm gack online too. And, yes, I was going batty - quickly!

    Talk to you soon!

    Tammy
