    Re: bread maker recommendations

    Shopping for a bread maker.

Not a real experienced cook, but love the smell of fresh baked bread (especially sourdough, wheat or rye).  Would love to have an oven from Subway Sandwiches!  Wink

But other than that, would appreciate any recommendations for a bread maker for the home.

    Thanks!

I have a Breadman plus that is a few years old that I love.  I don't like the texture of breadmaker bread when it's cooked.  I can live with it when I get to come home to a fresh loaf.  Most of the time I use my breadmaker to make the dough.  I make pizza dough and have it ready when I get home from work.  Sometimes I make bun dough and have it ready just an hour before supper so that I can form the buns and bake them fresh for supper. Homemade pumpernickle is the best.  Have fun and enjoy.!  cracked

KC - I have a Kenmore from Sears that I have had for about 5 years, and I love it.  It will make loaves of 1, 1 1/2 or 2 pounds.  I use for breads, rolls, pizza dough, etc.  It gets a lot of use in the winter, not so much when it warms up.  There is nothing like a warm loaf of bread with a stew, chili or soup.  Good luck with your search.
