    Artist Trading Cards?

Anybody make these to trade?  I just started making them and will start trading this weekend. Actually, I will be giving them away at an art show.

I have found them great fun to make and once you get started it is hard to stop.  If you are an artist or crafter you ought to try them and see what you can come up with.  There are several sites online to get you started in the right direction.

When I am having a hard time getting motivated to paint my real art it is a good way to keep my mind in a creative mode.  I highly recommend this craft.  They are not for sale...only for trading with others.   You make them 2.5 by 3.5 inches so they fit in baseball card sleeves for notebooks.

If you want a simple craft project that keeps you busy...this will do it for you!

Sandybells - I have made ATCs before and would love to trade with you.  Maybe we can get a trading group together and trade - I have an artist friend who is in an ATC trading group and they choose a new theme with each trade.  This could be a lot of fun - I'm a paper crafter and fabric crafter and not an artist, but I'm definitely interested in trading!  -- Beth

I have never tried them but if you decide to trade on here I might be interested. I've also seen where people make cards about that size or use a deck of cards and do a card a week type of thing. Each week they make a card about something in their week that was important to them. It was anything. Some people would have some important meaning while someone else maybe had spending some extra time with their kids. It was kind of cool to see when they were posting them each week or daily as a couple did.

I hope one of you knows how to get this started as I am lost.   I can't seem to send a message privately with  my limited knowledge of the computer.

    Re: Artist Trading Cards?

Some of the kids in our homeschool group does them, they have days where they make and trade the cards. Some of the kids made them instead of regular valentine cards.  My kids made some too, then I learned they aren't the size of a small index card like I was cutting out, but more like a business size card.

I've seen some good websites about it

Amy - what a great site!  I have such limited exposure to ATCs and viewing the ones on this site really opened my eyes.  I do know that Hobby Lobby and Michael's carries a rubber stamp that you stamp of the back of you ATCs to fill out all the information that is put on the back.  I haven't bought one yet, but I am looking for the perfect one for me.  Would you be willing to join sandybells and me in a trade?  -- Beth

    Hi Sandybells,

I have heard of the ATC's, but have never made any, but it sounds fun.  I just don't have a clue what to do to even start.  Can you give us some tips and websites to visit.  I just recently started stamping and card making, and love it.

    Thanks,

    Debbie :-)
