    Evening Sisters,

Just getting ready to turn in, need to rest up for the totally excellent weather we are going to have over the next few days!!!!!!!!!! Received the latest issue of Gardens West today, looks like there are a lot of good ideas in this issue. I am getting excited about the gardening season.

Betty, hope you can feel better soon. Thanks for the info about the milk.

China, I hope you seen the recipe in time for dinner tonight. Hope you all had a great time! I know you did a great job!

HI Amy, your Duck is a pretty funny guy! Lol Get him together with my DS and I think we’d be in trouble.

Hi Susie, sounds like you had a good day. Hope you are feeling good these days and are healing up.

Hi Terri! Sounds like a good day! I am going swimming with Ds’s class on Thrusday. You’d make a fortune if you could bottle some of that energy.

    Oh no Marcia!

Hi Evie, you definately had a busy day.

Hi to the rest of the Sisters.

    Sweet Dreams!

OMG!  What a catch-up I had to do this morning!  'Good thing I got up early!

I LOVE hearing the wedding & in-law stories!  Keep those coming.  I was very lucky I guess as my former in-laws & current have been wonderful!

I don't have a wedding story, but I have a funeral story.  A co-worker of mine came in Thursday, frustrated with dealing with a step-family.  The father died (who USED to have lots of money until he was put into a nursing home...), and a son who had nothing to do with his dad for many years, came to help his MIL with funeral arrangements.  Apparently, the son & a cousin who also showed up are pretty "back woods."  My friend told me that when they showed up at the funeral home, his jaw dropped to the floor when he saw one wearing his "best" coveralls, no shirt, and no shoes!  The other was wearing a pair of dress pants, no shoes, and no sleeves on his shirt! I guess at least he was wearing a shirt right?

Well, the group all decided to have the FIL cremated, but the burial was another story.  First, the "boys" came up with a brilliant idea to have a family cremation of their own & put him over a bon fire in a field in the area where they could toast him at the same time.

My friend explained that that just isn't legal.  I think that's when the MIL said she'll pay for the cremation!  The final idea (cutting the story short) was to have the MOTHER of the deceased exhumed to put his ashes in the coffin WITH her so they can always be together!  Not next to her vault or on top, but IN it!  That's just creapy!

You gals were talking about gas prices earlier.  Would you believe that when I go to Mom's (1 1/2 hours north of me) it's 10 cents cheaper a gallon!  Yes, that's where I'm going today.  Not on call, it's a visiting & shopping day.  Don't forget, Mother's Day is coming soon!

Susie Pumpkin, when the witch married your FIL, it doesn't sound legal to me if he had Alzheimers, Demenia, or any other brain/memory problem.  Hmmmm.

Sorry I'm jumping from one subject to another.  Still working on coffee before I head to Mom's.

    Have a great day! Deb

    Good Morning, Sisters!

Betty, I am sending prayers for you!  Marcia, how are you feeling?

Redawna, did you send your cold down here? We aren’t having snow but it was 81 yesterday and now it is supposed to frost tonight! How are your plants growing? Our little plants are still kind of little~they better do some major growing before they get planted outside in a few weeks! BTW, did you see my question about the wine shots? Do you use clear gelatin in those?

Evie, don’t you just love the shop til you drop trips? I don’t like to shop for something in particular because I can never find it. But I do like a little shopping if I have a little money and see something I like.

Hey Terri! I am going to chaperone my DGD 1st grader at the zoo in May! They just go and go~and GO! My little group seems to see everything in the allotted time-because they just keep going! I know they aren’t paying attention~they just GO!

Susie9, I am glad you are feeling better. You sure gave me a scare when I was reading about your accident. YOU BE CAREFUL!

China, I know I have had it with the mail. We have a UPS terminal fairly close, but we shouldn’t have to do that! Like Cyndi’s~it had a tracking number and was in Dead Letter?

I LOVE pound cake~this is THE best cake you can make. It makes a big one so split it and make one for you and one to share!

    Elvis Presley’s Pound Cake

    3 C. granulated sugar

    1/2 lb. butter, softened

    7 eggs, at room temperature

3 C. cake flour, sifted twice, divided

    1 C. whipping cream

    2 tsp. vanilla extract

Butter and flour a 10-inch tube pan.

Thoroughly cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix in half the flour, then the whipping cream , then the other half of the flour. Add vanilla extract.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Set in a cold oven and turn heat to 350ºF. Bake 60 to 70 minutes,

until a sharp knife inserted in cake comes out clean.

Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove from pan and cool thoroughly.

Hey Hot Patootie! Check your email~(I liked that song best, too!)

Sandra, weddings are just frustrating, especially for the mother of the groom. Hang in there~eveything is going to work out. I pray your DS made a better choice in women that what my DS did. SHE deserves a worse MIL than what she has! lol

I run the register today at work…it is one of those odd hour days to work, but at least it is only until 7:30. Then I am off Sun and Mon! It is going to take those two days to heal these aching muscles! I guess the greenhouse job sounded glamorous until you do the work involved! Would you believe I loaded 800 pounds of top soil in bags on to the tail part(not over the axle of course) of a van? It really squatted the tires and almost flattened one of them. She was totally oblivious to the weight of the soil…she just said I will get air and drove off…Oh well~that is what she wanted me to do but I sure wouldn’t have done it!

    Have a Super Saturday, Sisters!

    HUGS, Linda

Deb, I was already a post behind when I read your post!

OMG~It doesn't sound like the family members were joking about the 'roast', does it! I tell you, it takes all kinds in this world!  I did have to laugh because when my dad died, my aunt wanted him moved to HER funeral home(Dad had chosen it) and she had a fit because he was going to buried at HIS chosen burial site and wanted him elsewhere. To top it off, she didn't like his church OR pastor, even though I have never known them to go anywhere else. She had my mom upset and since I have always been the black sheep of the family, I had to get a little testy with her. She went BEHIND MY BACK to the funeral director and when he came to me and told me they had him prepared to be moved, he no doubt thought he had walked into the family from 'heck'!

Needless to say, Dad stayed there and all of his wishes were followed through, regardless of his sister.

With all due respect, this is a bit macabe but DH wants to be cremated and poured in a concrete patio~he said I have walked all over him while he was alive so I might as well do it when he has gone on. He is such a bad boy!

Sometimes our family members can drive us silly, can't they!

Redawna - get that gall bladder sucked out!  Life is great without one!

So, I have two questions for you all:

    1. Can I divorce my children?  At least temporarily?
    2. Can I quit being a mom and go back to being a teenager?  They are having a lot more fun than I am!

Since I think I already know the answer - just consider this a vent!  Off in search of chocolate, tea, salty things, etc......

Oh my what a day!  Mom & I shopped & shopped & ate (Cheesecake Factory), & shopped!

Of course I bought for the babies & my SIL who's expecting later this year!   I also bought myself a new pair of shoes for work.  My right foot (only on the outside midway down- so you'll have a visual) has been killing me!  DH says I just need a new pair of shoes.  I'm bow-legged so I know I walk on the outside of my feet (I always have)  but it's only the right foot.  Since he's supporting me in getting NEW SHOES I figured I need to do just that!  A friend at work told me about a shoe called Dansco so we found a place that carries them & I bought a pair.  It's alot more expensive than the Crocs I usually wear but my friend swears by them.  Especially for being on our feet all day.  I'll let you know.

DH is on duty today so I'm hanging out with Mom & Dad tonight.  Time for dinner & then relax to some Cheesecake factory cheesecake!

    Have a great day! Deb

    Good evening,

I just got home from a trying and long day.  The guitar concert went well, but the rest of the day was so stressful.  I'm working on getting all the last minute details in order for the girls in my dance class who will perform tomorrow during our church's late service. I hope it goes well.

Redawna- That filling looks great.  I will try it soon.

The dinner last night was great.  I ended up bringing chocolate chip cookie dough and making warm cookies for dessert. I wanted to make something nicer, but I just didn't feel up to it yesterday afternoon.

DGF is home from the hospital now and recovering well.

Linda- Thank you for the pound cake recipe- I will make it soon.

WEll, I'm off to sew up little girls' ballet shoes and hem up their too-long dance costumes.  Talk to you all tomorrow!

Hello, ladies!!!  I have had the best day today!  First, we got to keep Gracie!  I love this little girl!  She giggled at everything.  If a car passed us, she giggled.  If we changed the radio station, she laughed.  She was wonderful.  Anyway, DH and I went to the Leisure Arts Warehouse sale in Little Rock.  Twice a year, they open up their warehouse and knock off 95% of the price.  Example:  they have ROLLS of stitckers that retail price is $84.50 (not sure how many strips are on the roll, but probably around 100).  And they sell them for $3.50.  We spent $250 and retail price would have been over $1800.  Yes, the zeroes are in the correct spot!  The receipt they print gives actual price and retail price.  Sometimes it makes you drop your jaw!!!!  I bought some gifts and then lots of things to sell on ebay!  Woo Hoo!!!!!  We bought Mother's Day/Christmas presents.  Also bought some stickers for Gracie and a flip flop scrapbook for her, too.  She LOVES shoes, so it was perfect.

The only bad thing today....we had put the dog in the pen in the back yard and when we came home, she was sitting at the front door.  Now, this is the same dog who attacked the neighbor's dog earlier in the year.  Apparently she didn't do anything bad in the neighborhood, but it was definitely unsettling.

Also today, DH decided to rearrange the garage so that we can buy a freezer.  Well, he cleaned it all out and then arranged it sooooooo much better.  We spent about 4 hours working on it and it looks amazing!  I'm so proud of him.  I am the absolute luckiest girl alive!  I have the greatest husband in all the world!!!!

Hope you are all doing fantastic.  Just wanted to drop in and say hello!  I hope you have had a fantastic day!
