Good Morning, Sisters!
Betty, I am sending prayers for you! Marcia, how are you feeling?
Redawna, did you send your cold down here? We aren’t having snow but it was 81 yesterday and now it is supposed to frost tonight! How are your plants growing? Our little plants are still kind of little~they better do some major growing before they get planted outside in a few weeks! BTW, did you see my question about the wine shots? Do you use clear gelatin in those?
Evie, don’t you just love the shop til you drop trips? I don’t like to shop for something in particular because I can never find it. But I do like a little shopping if I have a little money and see something I like.
Hey Terri! I am going to chaperone my DGD 1st grader at the zoo in May! They just go and go~and GO! My little group seems to see everything in the allotted time-because they just keep going! I know they aren’t paying attention~they just GO!
Susie9, I am glad you are feeling better. You sure gave me a scare when I was reading about your accident. YOU BE CAREFUL!
China, I know I have had it with the mail. We have a UPS terminal fairly close, but we shouldn’t have to do that! Like Cyndi’s~it had a tracking number and was in Dead Letter?
I LOVE pound cake~this is THE best cake you can make. It makes a big one so split it and make one for you and one to share!
Elvis Presley’s Pound Cake
3 C. granulated sugar
1/2 lb. butter, softened
7 eggs, at room temperature
3 C. cake flour, sifted twice, divided
1 C. whipping cream
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Butter and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Thoroughly cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in half the flour, then the whipping cream , then the other half of the flour. Add vanilla extract.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Set in a cold oven and turn heat to 350ºF. Bake 60 to 70 minutes,
until a sharp knife inserted in cake comes out clean.
Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove from pan and cool thoroughly.
Hey Hot Patootie! Check your email~(I liked that song best, too!)
Sandra, weddings are just frustrating, especially for the mother of the groom. Hang in there~eveything is going to work out. I pray your DS made a better choice in women that what my DS did. SHE deserves a worse MIL than what she has! lol
I run the register today at work…it is one of those odd hour days to work, but at least it is only until 7:30. Then I am off Sun and Mon! It is going to take those two days to heal these aching muscles! I guess the greenhouse job sounded glamorous until you do the work involved! Would you believe I loaded 800 pounds of top soil in bags on to the tail part(not over the axle of course) of a van? It really squatted the tires and almost flattened one of them. She was totally oblivious to the weight of the soil…she just said I will get air and drove off…Oh well~that is what she wanted me to do but I sure wouldn’t have done it!
Have a Super Saturday, Sisters!
HUGS, Linda
