A very long time ago, we lived in the Colorado Springs area (when my husband was in the army) & we went to a restaurant that served a cheese dip w/veggies....I asked the server how it was made & she said it was just a processed cheese that came from a jar, maybe Cheezwiz?, thinned w/a little cream & then a few dashes of hot sauce. I was able to recreate it at home....now between the high fat from the processed cheese & the cream...it's off our diet but as I remember, it was easy & tasted good. Maybe not heart-healthy :-( Also, a lot of people just take a block of cream cheese & pour something over it....cocktail sauce w/tiny canned shrimp, hot pepper jelly...I've mixed dried cranberries & toasted pecans w/light cream cheese - that's more of a spread for crackers but people seemed to like it & asked how I made it.
