I have bought everything I need to----have tried to be really selective regarding size this time---am trying  fit everything in one of the flat rate postage boxes----am not sure I will be successful if I keep going to the store!!  You know how it is---just one more thing, and then another just one more thing!!

I think that the best thing is to just fill the box, write the letter and seal it!!!

I went shopping yesterday as well and I "could" easily be done, but everytime I go to a different store, I find something else. I pretty much have a 13.00 flat rate box full, SO I will need to stop SOON!!!! Time to write the letter and seal it up I think LOL !!!! Just this morning I was thinking I could send a couple of things in an extra envelope, if I am able to find the ones I like!!! I do LOVE this swap!

I don't think all my stuff would fit in the new flat rate box.  I will have to  get one and see how or if everything fits.  Maybe I could compact things a little more...LOL

If your partner lives in the South, is it too hot to mail chocolate candy??? I hesitate because I don't want to mail my partner a mess in her box.

      Hugs,

I am soooooo done - all 17 pounds are packed & waiting.  Don't know how you gals can cram so much into those postal boxes.  I always need a big carton.

Hey Mary - if I'm the southerner you're thinking about sending chocolate to - don't worry about the melt factor!!!  Chocolate is chocolate!  lol

Hi everyone!  I'd love to chat with you.  I'm a little behind though and have to go and answer all the swap questions so far.

I do have to apologize to my swap partner first, for not posting these answers sooner.  Please forgive me.  It has been a rough few weeks for me as I had two deaths in the family.  First my Aunt and then my beloved little dog, Toby.  I needed some time away from the BB to grieve in my own way.  Hopefully this week will be easier for me.

So, is everyone excited yet?  This is one of my favorite types of swaps!  I can't wait!

    Take care!

Re: Anyone Want To Chat About the BBQ Swap????

I'm so glad to see you ladies getting so excited about the swap.  I just love the BBQ swap!!  My package isn't finished yet, I haven't had a lot of time to shop.  I did have some ____________ shipped to me from ______________ to put in my box - it's some of my favorite stuff!  I sure hope my partner likes it.  I found a _________ at a store the other day and was soooo excited because I wanted one too - so I bought two.  The box is almost full, but just need to find those special things that I want to include.

Nanapeg - 17 lbs!!!  Can I get the eraser out???? lol  Your partner is going to be one lucky gal.

Mary - Close your eyes when you go by WalMart lol - I know how it just pulls you in.

Katemarie - I was so happy when they came out with the new flat rate boxes, you could get so much more in - now I want a bigger one!!

Karen - So great to have you joining in the banter.  I hope you enjoy the swap.

Happy shopping ladies ---- or rather happy sealing!!!

I think I'm done~well, maybe! lol  I need to look for boxes. I either get a bigger box to hold these odd shaped things and keep buying or use the box I have and take something out! nah...I don't think it will be the latter!

I haven't done the BBQ swap before and this has been fun~

OOK I have started my shopping but have alot to go.  I'm really not sure what all to buy i guess I need some suggestions maybe.  I read my partners question thing and got one idea.  I'm really not a real creative person I guess.  But then I guess it would help if I went shopping.  I need to go and get one of them boxes you guys keep talking about the "stuff all you can and mail for one price" boxes.  If my partner is reading this don't fret none though I will deliver i guarantee.

becca - Just relax and enjoy the swap.  The easiest way to put a great box together is to think of some of your favorite sauces, mixes, dips, candles, bbq accessories, etc and put them together.  This is a really fun swap and one of my very favorite because I love to try the new things for my summer cooking.  Don't stress - just enjoy!

    ENJOY!!!!

Re: Anyone Want To Chat About the BBQ Swap????

Linda, how are you done too...I guess I am just behind.  You will really enjoy this since you said you have never done a BBQ before.  They are a lot of fun!

Becca, don't worry.  Once you get shopping you will find way too much stuff.  I used to worry too, but the rule of thumb I use is to make sure and send stuff that you would like to receive.  If yo stick with that, you can't go wrong!

Happy Shopping and have a great day everyone!

Yup Becca & Linda - you'll totally get into it.  Don't worry, by the time you're done shopping you'll wonder how to pack all that "stuff"!

Re: Anyone Want To Chat About the BBQ Swap????

Almost down to 2 weeks until shipping begins within the US.  The US to/from Canada partners can begin shipping and should have their packages in the mail by the 2nd so that they get to their destination on time.

I have my package all ready to go - I had to import some of mine from another state so that I could be sure to include all of my favorite bbq items lol !  I can't wait to see what items await each of you in your packages!

Re: Anyone Want To Chat About the BBQ Swap????

Those of you that are done, you are lucky.  I have not made it to "the city" yet.  If I have to buy everything from my town, I can, but it won't be nearly as fun.  I have some stuff I need to make yet, so that is not dependent on going to the city.  But we only go about once every 5 weeks, so hopefully I can go this weekend.  If now, I will get a babysitter for my kids, and check out all three stores in my town!!!  ACK!  That doesn't sound too promising!

It feels like a mouth in foot kinda day!
