    Patriotic Gelatin Salad

Almost as spectacular as the fireworks, this lovely salad make quite a "bang" at our July Fourth meal. It's exciting to serve, and our guests loved the cool fruity and creamy layers. This salad really added to my patriotic theme.

It looks lovely but it is too late to fix for the 4th. Why wasn't it posted a couple of days ago???

This looks fabulous but I must agree...the posting is a bit late. I would have really enjoyed seeing this a week or two ago so that I could have planned to make it for tomorrow.

You know you could easily change the blue gelatin to green and it would make a good Christmas dessert too.

I wish I would have seen it sooner as I know some folks who would've liked the recipe.

I so wish I could have had this recipe last week. What a beautiful surprise it would have been for my grandkids!

This is *so* pretty! It looks good to eat, too, and I may make it some time. I can't see why it is called a "salad," though, as there are neither fruit nor vegetables or anything else in it -- looks like a simple "gelatin dessert" to me. And this recipe came to me in a newsletter in the morning of the very Fourth of July -- um, a little late, no, to be making such a many-layered dish?

I agree!! I would have made this for the big party we're hosting--16 people!! This would have been spectacular on the table!!

I received this today (the 4th) so maybe I'll remember it next year. It's pretty though and I think I'll try it at Christmas with red and green gelatin.

Me too! Timing not the best. To late for this year and by next Fourth, I will probably have forgotten about it!

I think this would have been great if I received it before the 4th of July! Guess it could be made for most holidays using other flavors/colors.

This might a neat treat for several holidays if someone could find a way to get rid of the sour cream. Yuk!
