Re: Good Morning Dear Friends, April 24th, Time to share and time to care

Good evening angels, How has everyone's Monday been.  Mine was not so bad, a little slow.

Hello Anna Maria,  Nice to meet you.  My name is Carole,  I have been on here since the tea room started.  I love to cook and would love for you to share some recipes.  I especially love to bake cakes and breads.  Please share the ricciolina recipe.  Please drop in anytime. Have a great day.

Ok Lisa Apron,  Don't be saying things like that.  Just kidding,  inpressive.  I bet it sounds so beautiful in spoken words.  I love to listen to foreign languages being spoken.

Kay,  Oh I wish I could grow all the pretty flowers. My thumb is definetly not green.  I envy you and everyone else for being able to have pretty  flower gardens.

Susie,  you and Kathy are not right.  You two could cause a lot of trouble, you are so funny.  Hope you are doing good.

Kathy,   Sounds like a great party.  I don't eat seafood so the beef and other stuff will suit me just fine.   I want a bagel with cream cheese..

Mary,  hope you are doing good.  It is good you got a little break.  Take care of our self.

Know I have missed some angels.  But know you are all on my mind all the time.  Hope everyone has a great evening, and sweet dreams

    Hugs

    Carole

    Evenin' Tea Angels!!

And what a perfect end to a truly gorgeous day!! Wow! We actually were able to sit out on the porch tonight and enjoy to beautiful evening!! Been a long while since we were able to do that.

Carole - Honey, you just need to get some geraniums and petunias. I don't think you can do much damage with them and they are pretty showy! Just give a drink of water now and then and fertilize them and you'll have more gorgeous flowers than you realize!!

Well, think I'm gonna call it a night! It's been a long day and I'm beat. Think I'll head upstairs with my book and read myself to the Land of Nod! Tomorrow after doing some running early, I think I'll tackle a load or two linens and blankets and hang them outside! Won't that be wonderful for sleeping tomorrow night. Wish I'd thought of doing it earlier today!! :o)

     Sleep Sweet, Tea Angels!!

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends, April 24th, Time to share and time to care

    Good Evening Tea Friends,

Mary, How are you feeling? I've been thinking of you. So happy that you had your Hospice friend come over to help out with grandpa and give you a few moments of rest.

Welcome to the Tea Room Anna Maria - it's always nice to meet someone new and I'm sure you will enjoy coming here to visit with Mary and all the rest of the wonderful Tea Ladies. Lisa, I made out some of your Italian note to Anna Maria about where you lived in Italy (which I remember you mentioned when you first joined) and that you now live in PA with your husband and two children. Anna, my parents were born in Italy - my mother from Veneto and my father from nearby in your area, the Marches. We will look forward to receiving some of your authentic Italian recipes as we all like to try out new recipes. Do you make porketta with garlic and dill? Tell us something about yourself and your family.

Kathy, what a blow-out party your kids gave, complete with an authentic Texas style barbecue with smokin' horns and a Louisiana crawfish feast. What a generous thing for them to do for their friends and it must have been so much fun, not to mention the good eating.

Elza, you must be so proud of your son upon his graduation from college. My DH also taught high school mathematics and computer science, same as your son will be doing.

We had a busy weekend, ending with cooking a Thanksgiving dinner yesterday for friends and their two kids. I don't know what it is about preparing and cooking a turkey and all the trimmings, but it always leaves me beat the next day, so I wasn't moving so fast today. Must be old age....which reminds me, why am I still up at midnight? Goodnite all,

    Anne

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends, April 24th, Time to share and time to care

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. It has been an anxious time here in our little house. Dear Grandpa needs a good deal of care and Dear Puppy Trixie is on the road to recovery. The truth that things are moving forward nearly imperceptivly sunk in last night. It brought me a smile and grateful thoughts of wonder. Life never stops moving, even when you think the wind has left your sails. When pleasantries come we wish we could stop time for a while but when difficulties settle in we wish it away, its all time and it has its own course set. Some things have to be put on the back burner to simmer for a later time. That brings to mind stories I have heard of cooking on a wood stove. Some fires need stoking while others need to just continue a slow wane.

    There is peace in that.

I would like to extend a welcome to our new friend Ann Marie with a smile and good cup of tea to share. I hope you will come and share your recipes.

Dear Kathy, What an amazing weekend and lovely party! I am always a bit sorry to hear that people attend a gathering but offer nothing of their own to pass. That rings of a bit of unhealthy self centeredness that will buried by all the efforts of others. That is what will be told and retold, and thereby enjoyed and remembered.

There will always be those who stop at the grocery for baked goods to donate to a homemade bake sale, when a little effort would've been highly rewarded. To get a hand one must first extend one...someone must've been first to start that and all efforts since have snowballed since. We all stand in line with arms fully loaded or empty as we live our lives. Angels, meet us and help bear the overflow.

Dear LisaApron, What a beautiful gift of language you have! There is music in words even when the meaning is only interpreted in a feeling of what you think they say.

Oh Susie, pigtails and piglatin are giggly beauties of childhood that I love to remember.

Dear Carole, Your fern in the forest has grown in my imagination til I think you will need a forklift to bring it home. I find my cooking is falling last minute and very late rather than being anticipated. I can near call dinner breakfast and vice versa. That is an interesting thing, when things reverse postions entirely until they are something else.

Dear Kay, There is a quiet hum of busyness in the things you do. I never wonder at how many things you take on but I do wonder when you rest. Life hums all around you.

Dear Bdett, I have lost Mary even though my very name should make me turn my head. Thank you for the prayers you have offered, I feel them in my soul.

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends, April 24th, Time to share and time to care

Who knew we had Italian connections in the Tea Room! Love it!

Well, once again my "day off" is scheduled full, but it's okay. Yesterday at work was non-stop busy, so I'm glad to be out of the bank and running errands on a bee-yutiful day. Gym, dentist, grocery store, library, pick up DS at school, take him to barber shop and dentist, Market Day pickup -- I think that's all that's on my list but something else may work itself in there! Hopefully at the end of the day I can have everything checked off! The increased gas prices have really made me schedule my driving time so that I'm doing multiple things whenever I get out in the car, which is a good thing anyway.

Wishing everyone a positive day -- small steps forward are a beautiful thing. Sometimes just standing still and resting is a victory too.

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends, April 24th, Time to share and time to care

Dear Anna Maria, I am sorry to have left parts of your name off, it is not intentional but as near as I can figure you immediately reminded me of someone famous. Welcome again.

Dear Mimmit, I am a bit frayed around the edges but finding my feet so I can continue the journey. I just have to tim my ribbons to be quite whole and happy.

Dear Anne, Please send me some ocean breezes and pretty pictures of crystal stones reflecting the beauties of your greenhouse. Has the weather settled down to normal for you?

My tea blend for today is still brewing, but yesterday I totally enjoyed an icy glass of Black tea with a splash of Mango. I savored it to the last drop and strangely one glass was enough. I am certain that today will be filled with wonderful things. Your very grateful hostess and friend, mary

Good Morning Tea Babes!  It is another beautiful day in this part of PA and DH and I are working outside.  Yahoo!  It needs it.  That includes cleaning out the garage.  I need it to get just a wee bit warmer and then we'll head out.

Mary - I'm so glad to hear your positive outlook on life.  And you're right, progress is often imperceptible and that's where hope comes in.  I'm wishing you a sweet day of peace and rest with enough energy to accomplish whatever your heart desires.

Kathy - my goodnes, was that a bash or what?  What a grand party!  I've never been to anything like that.  So what are you up to the rest of this week?

Kay - I'm anxious to get my zinnias in.  Last year I bought miniature ones and they just bloomed their fool heads off all season.  You're so right about geraniums and petunias...lots of color for little effort.  I bet your garden is pretty.

Anne - I think you mentioned to me before that you're of Italian descent.  And Trieste is very near Veneto.  I hope you have a great day.

Elza -  I wish you DS was nearby.  I have a 5th grader who is losing his mind over math.  And I'm afraid I'm not much help.  Congratulations on DS's achievement.

emr - your schedule is dizzying today!  LOL  Don't forget to stop and rest before you think you need it.  And would you please send all the benefits of time at the gym my way?  I haven't been in a long time.

Carole - what are you up to?  I hope work goes well again for you.  What's for supper?  We're busy outside today so it will probably be something quick like spaghetti.  I have to remember to take some sauce out of the freezer.  Hugs to you.

Susie - you really should be Susie Sunshine...you make me smile.  Thanks for the pig latin lesson.  I won't bother to tell you how long it took me to decipher it.  ha!  It's one thing to hear it...written it is positively confusing.  Did it take you a long time to write it?

Everybody have a great day.  I'm off to find some breakfast.  Hugs, Lisa Apron

Good morning girlfriends.  A beautifl day planned for the west coast today.  It was nice and cool last night and made for some good sleeping.

You know one is addicted to the tea room when you get in to work and barely turn the lights on and run to see what's happening with your fellow tea girlfriends.

I guess I better get myself off this seat, turn the lights on and uncover the instruments before the boss gets here.  lOL!

    Hugs

    Kathy

    Carole, ot-nay a ing-thay ong-wray ith-way e-may or-nay athy-kay!  ol-lay!

Mary, it's ever so nice to see you here! I just know you're wearing yourself out taking care of everything and everyone, even the dog! Hugs, sweetie!

Elza, oh, my, what a day you have scheduled! I hope your to-do list is all crossed off at the end of the day!

Carole, don't rush through here so -- you create quite a draft as you fly by! :)

LisaA, did you enjoy your day out in the sunshine and get your garage all ***-and-span? Nope, it's not hard to type pig latin, but some words are a challenge, lol, so I just substitute another word! I hope we'll see you every day, because your words always bring a great big smile!

Kathy, I think we're all addicted! Hope your work day went smoothly!

Where are all of our MIA Tea Sisters? Time to round them up before everyone takes off on summer vacations!

I started on the attic today. Carried down many dusty  boxes of this and that that I am determined to pitch, give, or sell! I have dishes and stuff that haven't seen the light of day in 50 years.....handed down to me and put up on the attic! Either I use them and they stay or they're outta here! I just wish I was an expert on these antique dishes, glassware, etc. Anyone know anything about lustrewear? *sigh*

Have a wonderful evening, everyone! It was sunny and 68 today. Steve started coming down with the flu last night and is feeling mighty puny today, so I think dinner won't be much tonight!

If you have a spare moment or two, will you please vote for my "green" Kroger bag? I don't know if I'll ever make it to page one, but I'm at the top of page three!

    http://www.designagreenbag.com/vote-for-de...spx?BagId=17809

     TIA! and Hugs!
