    Do you believe in ghosts?

After reading akfishergirl's post about the women claiming to be assaulted by ghosts - I have to ask - do you believe in ghosts?  Have you had any experience with ghosts?  Enough of all of the depressing politics, food hoarding, etc. - let's have some fun with this!!!

Re: Do you believe in ghosts?

yes, but I refer to them as spirits and have seen several.

My youngest DD was born the year after my Dad died. One morning as my oldest son and I were in the kitchen talking she came running up to me crying..."come, come quick!" and she said the name that  my Dad's grandchildren called him, a name she had never heard before as she was just 2 yrs. old at the time. She led me to my bedroom, looked around and then said..."Oh, he's gone." She said he had talked to her but she could not remember all he said.

Maybe. Kind of.  Could be.  Not sure. Why not?   Who knows?   I know my cats do! lol.

Yes, but as Souchef said, I refer to them as spirits. I have seen them, I have felt them.

No, I do not believe in "ghosts" only the holy ghost.  I do believe that some people have experienced something supernatural, but I do not believe that a person's spirit returns to earth after they die.

I believe spirits of people who have left this world do come back to visit. I've experienced that before.

Please allow me to clarify something, if I may. I do not believe ghosts or spirits come back and do things like mentioned in AKF's news story. I think those women in that story need psych evaluations! lol

I do. We had bought a new stove. Not long after that my dad passed. A few hours after I got the call that he passed the timer went off on the stove. DH kept telling me the kids were doing it or the cat. There was no way it was either of them. This went on for a few weeks and he thought I was nuts till it happened to him. He called me at work and asked me what he ever did to my dad lol While we were talking the timer went off again. He yelled 'what do you want' . Well, the timer never went off again unless we set it of course lol

When I first got married, my dh & myself lived in an older farm house.  When you walked down the stair from the bedrooms, it always felt like something/someone was right behind you.  You only felt the presence of someone/something.  When I was pregnant with my dd, the room we had decorated for her had a glider rocker in there & I woke up  in the middle of the night one night & I seen the glider moving back & forth (I could only see part of the chair due to the angle of the rooms), but then I seen a hand resting on the arm of the glider. (it was the hand of an older lady, she had a small ring on her left ring finger)  I was scared to death, but I decided if it was not bothering me, I definatly wasn't going to bother it.  We ended up changing her room to a different bedroom.  Once in a while when you would pass by the kids playroom you could see a reflection of an old man in the window.  After living there for 5 years, I had learned that an older couple had lived there a long time ago.  The old man & his grandson (the little boy was about 3 at the time) were riding on the tractor pulling off the road into the drive way of our house & the little boy had fallen off the tractor & died there.  That had been many many years ago.  To this day I believe the grandparents are there, and my dh believes I am the craziest person alive...lol ... maybe I am??Embarrassed

See, I think people just think they see or hear from loved ones because they miss them so much and it helps them to heal.  My dh's grandmother after his grandfather died mentioned that her musical water fountain kept playing by itself and she said it was him.  Then she felt him sitting on her bed.  I think she just missed him so much that it helped to think somehow he was still with her.  I believe these experiences can feel very real, although I've never experienced it myself.

Re: Do you believe in ghosts?

Here's my own story - ghosts, spirits?? You decide.  Over 30 years ago we were living in S.D.  We had a brand new house. Right from the start there would sometimes be an odd smell in our bedroom.  The bed was older and had belonged to my in-laws. Thinking that was the smell we replaced the mattress. The smell was still there - not all of the time. A couple of times I would wake up in the night feeling like someone was standing over me. I just laughed it off.  One night I woke up feeling like someone was pressing on my chest - you know - pushing me into the bed. (I thought - don't be silly)  My dh worked evenings. I watched our neighbor's little boy until she got home at 8:30. It was about 8:00 on a winter night - I was sitting on the sofa with my 3 kids and the little boy.  All of a sudden we heard this almost human like howling.  The cats went nuts and all the kids were clinging to me. It continued on and off. When my neighbor got there she and her friend took big flashlights and walked around the perimeter of the house. (It had just snowed. There were no footprints of any kind.) After she left one of the kids needed to go to the bathroom - so we all went. There was the howling and a loud banging that was obviously coming from my room. So I took a baseball bat and went in there. The access panel to the bathroom pipes was in my closet. I opened the door of my closet and the panel door was hanging by 1 screw and swinging back and forth madly. We never heard the howling again and never smelled the odor again. My kids and I still talk about it today - laughing about how the cats were literally on my shoulders - like I was going to protect THEM! Why didn't I call the police? Because they would have thought I was nuts! Why did I take the bat and go into the bedroom closet? Because I was nuts? I don't know but I promise you that this happened. Do I believe in ghosts and spirits? Let's say I don't "not believe"!

If we, like All things, are energy and Energy doesn't die but simply changes it's form, well then, why not?

Key word peachy, what you 'believe'. We all have our own beliefs but does not mean they are wrong. I believe they even come to us in our dreams. Whether it is true or not, that is how I believe. I do believe my dad was here during that time.

No I do not, I do not believe in UFO's either or the Loch Nest monster and the Big Foot. Until I see any of that myself, but I do not think people who do are crazy, but each their own in my opinion.

Re: Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes, I believe in angels and demons. Demons are ghosts. I've had personal experience . There was a ghost in a house I moved into in Kansas City, MO. It wasn't easy but we got him leave.
