    Good Morning~!

it was a bit chilly this morning, down to the low 40's but supposed to be in the mid 70's this afternoon. These big temperature swings play havoc with my sinuses!!

jen - glad the center pieces worked out. I can imagien the butterflies, and we love to hear about the wedding so don't hesitate to babble :-) That's what we're here for!!

Morning Dusta, Jet, Muril, Betsy, Debi, and everyone who pops in

Got all my errands done last night. When I got home dh was already halfway through his winde LOL!!!  We had a very "mediterranean" dinner - made baked falafel balls (mashed chickpeas, couscous, onion & seasonings, shaped into patties or balls & baked) served with tzatziki sauce; then I had a platter of kalamata olives, slices of feta & cherry tomatoes.

tonight I've got to get one of the cats to the vet ~ he's got a minor ear infection, usually we just call in for a medicine refill but the vet wants to see him this time. Can't blame her, it's been 2-3 refills since we have & I'd rather have them check kitty out and be sure we're on the right path.

hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning. It is good to be back in a house and spread out. I don't think we realize out much junk mail we get until it is seen in the floor. Six weeks worth, mail slot, and way over half is junk. That is usually one of the first things Mel does is start looking at his mail, not this time, so I know he is really not feeling well. The mailman came just as we got here so Lulu had a barking good time.

    Hi to everyone to come.

I have plans to ride the bike, it is cloudy but not cool. I was walking down the hall, hit my little toe, it is going south and the other toes are going some other way. To ride the bike I have to get it out of the shed, probably air the tires and walking is not easy now. We will see, maybe this afternoon. Plan on going to WW at noon today, going in Mel's car so I can park in the handicap parking, which I never do unless Mel is with me.

Mel had a bill from the hospital in Gulfport, in 2 days the bill was $16,000+ for meds it was $1,800. Don't get sick and have to go to the hospital.

Thinking about trying core. Any of you tried it? I know bread it not on it, have to use it as part of the points you get each week. I usually eat bread for breakfast and lunch. Undecided, am going to ask them about it today.

    Ouch Dusta! :(

    Hi Ginny!

I talked to my sister who's DH is getting baptized this Sunday and it is going to be so neat. They will have some singing, etc...and then we have a cookout at her place after church. It is going to be fun and hope I can eat healthy. I am trying to think of something great to take. ;)  Mom will go home with oldest sister Sunday night and be there all day Monday since I will be tied up with Miss Nancy and then I will get her that evening. :)  We kinda fight over her when she's up. :)

If Nancy is feeling better, sis may meet us for lunch on Monday with Mom. :) Mom and Nancy should enjoy that.

Off to look for something yummy and healthy to take to the cookout!

    :)

I am in total shock, I lost 1.8. I just knew I would gain, but I did ride the bike for an hour all week, except the 2 days we were on the road. That motivated me, limped out there to the shed got the bike and  put air in the tires, limped back in the house and here I sit. But I am going to ride in a bit. Just being silly about the limping, but it is true.

     WooHoo on the loss Dusta!!!!!!

I called the Hypnotherapist and made an appointment for next week - I can feel the control Slipping Away! I don't want to start gaining!

Have to go - really busy at the office today!

YEAH Dusta!  If I could do a cartwheel, I would be doing one right now just for you! I am so happy for you!

Ginny, what technique do they use for the hypnosis?

I heard from the nurse where Miss Nancy stays and they are moving her to Assistant Living through the weekend - she isn't acting herself.

:(   But,she still wants me to come tomorrow- I will just go to her room at AL.  I really hope the antibiotics kick in soon on that infection and the Dr.s haven't missed anything. :(  Really worried about her.

    Off to plan supper.

Re: HL topic of the week 4/28 to 5/4 Healthy Foods for Glowing Skin!

Glad to be popping in for a few mins.   Tim and I had it out yesterday, good long talk, and I think we're both on the same page now.   We are proceeding one day at a time and trying to both make some changes.   I need to find the fun Jolene again, and he needs to find the responsible Tim.    Thanks again to all of you who listened and supported me, I appreciate you all more than you know    :)

WOO HOO DUSTA!  That's a great loss.   Ouch on the toe, I broke my pinky toe tripping over a threshold one year, hurt worse than my c section   LOL    Doing a happy dance for you.    Re: Core-   I just couldn't do it.   I'm a breadaholic and I have no concept of what "eating til satisfied" means.   You could probably transistion into it by adding core foods but still tracking points.

Muril, so sorry to hear Miss Nancy is feeling poorly.  Sending hugs and good thoughts her way.  Not acknowledging spider story... spiders are icky   :)    Of course, I'm sure the day will come that Jake will want one of those boy type pets.   Bleh.

Hi Ginny!   I always wanted to do the hypnosis thing, but was always afraid of what they are telling me to make me not want to eat   :)    Hope you, the girls and DH are all well    :)

Dawn, we were at 26º this morning when I got up at 7!   It warmed up to 60, but I never really got rid of the chill.    How are you feeling?    Your dinner sounds very yummy, though I think I have to hand in my Italian heritage membership card if I admit that I don't like olives   LOL

Aw Jen, I've actually missed your wedding excitement   :)   Boot Dustin in the butt re: the golf thing.   LOL   Glad that you got the centerpieces nailed down, can't wait to see pics of everything.

Waving to Jet as she zoooms through   :)

Betsy, I love the turkey bacon.   This week we "splurged" and had the real thing, and I even cooked the french toast in the bacon grease.   My tummy was happy for a while, then not so much!    :)     I haven't seen a single Sox Game yet, jeesh, I may have to turn in my New England sports fan card along with my Italian card   LOL

Debi, fingers in ears to block out spider story.   Thank you for the hugs   :)

Pammie, you ok with all that flooding up your way?   We're going to be up the creek if it rains for the next few days like they are predicting.   Ah spring in New England...  Mud, blackflies, flooding, then July.

Have to do the prebed thing with Jake.   He's all out of whack with vacation.   Tomorrow I have some errands to run, and Saturday is date day, but will try to get back and visit again.   Thanks again to Muril for keeping us going   :)

    It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can you tell I"m ready for the weekend?!? LOL!!! I only work half day today, have my 32 week appointment this afternoon.

Jolene - ((((hugs))) I've been thinking about you this week, didn't want to add one more person fussing over you :-) I'm glad you & Tim are finding your way, every step counts!  Yum on the bacon grease - once ina  while we do real bacon too, then I fry eggs in it :-)  heart attack waiting to happen, and end up with a very upset stomach (ahem!) but it's soooooo worth it LOL!!  I'm like you with olives - it took me years to eat them, and I'll only do black ones now. hate green. My grandmother (100% italian!!) never understood my dislike :-)   Overall I feel ok, but I definitely feel pregnant lately. She's getting very heavy, and I'm constantly achy and tired. Nothing major, but feeling that all day every day is getting old LOL!!!

Muril - I'm so sorry Miss Nancy is feeling so poor. Lots of hugs to her & all of you.

Ginny - how long does the hypnosis usually last? What do theyd o to help you? I think it's so cool that you found such an alternative way :-)

Dusta -  Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!! How is your toe this morning? How is Mel doing?

Pammie - thinking about you this morning. The floods in Maine were all over the news.

Going to be a busy weekend for us. No specific plans, but a lot going on. Today is the ob appt., then we are running some errands; tomorrow we have someone coming to look at the a/c and furnace; dh is on call this weekend. He's got some things on his to-do list he wants to accomplish; I'm going to lunch with a friend on sunday. And I've got a bunch of running & errands I'd like to get done. I"m tired thinking about it LOL!!!

if I don't get back on here, hello to all who stop by. And have a wonderful weekend!!

Good morning. Rode the bike for an hour yesterday, felt good to be out. Toe is much better and Mel is too. I wish people believed what smoking can do to you besides lung cancer. Having trouble breathing is so scary.

Need to go pick up some meds for Mel this morning. Also going to WM out of fish and some other things. I think I am going to try core for a couple of weeks to see how it goes. Still going to weigh and measure, just going to cut down on the bread and the other carbs I eat.

Crazy person delivering the paper now!

Hi everyone, have a great weekend.

    Good Morning Healthy Ones!

Hi Dusta, Dawn, Jolene, Jet and all others who pop in today!

Off to Miss Nancy's.  Hope I can cheer her up and it is so lovely, she may want to sit outside a little today. I think they have a nice outside area at the AL place.  This is all in the complex where her appartment is so if she needs anything she has forgotten to bring, I can get some cardio in walking to get it. Lots of long hallways.

Re: HL topic of the week 4/28 to 5/4 Healthy Foods for Glowing Skin!

Good morning.  And Happy Friday.  Jolene, so glad to see you here.  We missed ya!  Don't feel bad about the Sox thing.....I am not really a sports person, (I used to think jello wrestling might be fun to watch), but I have one Yankees fan and one Sox fan.  So you can imagine the ruckus that ensues.  Do you ever watch First Parish Radio Church on Channel 6?  The pastor is on every a.m. for a few moments with a thought for the day.  Today's thought had to do with praying for things we want...and that the Red Sox didn't beat the Yankees because God likes the Sox better!  (which was what I understood He felt!)  LOL.

The flooding in Maine is up at Fort Kent, on the Canadian border....about a 12 hour drive from here.  The economy is pitiful enough up there without this setback.  The Governor has declared it a disaster, and actually, I expect he'll be instrumental in making sure everyone gets the assistance he needs.  We've had a bit of rain, but no real flooding, thankfully.  Last year was quite bad, but not like Fort Kent.  Thanks for the good thoughts.

Muril... I'm jealous of the good weather.  Still wearing my parka every morning.  I keep shaving my legs, in hopes I can wear shorts, but each day, I'm disappointed.  Maybe in the mid-high '50's today.  I did encounter some black flies yesterday before supper, while I was in the garden. They leave some God-awful welts on your skin when they bite.  I have just one more garden to rake out, and then I am done.  Just in time to start mowing the lawn!  Fortunately, the Princes never arrived with any snakes.  I don't mind spiders, rats, lizards, or anything else, but snakes really wig me out.  Luckily, there are no poisonous snakes in Maine (unless they sneak across the border), but I've never seen anything other than garter snakes, milk edders or grass snakes.  Once a black snake, but they're quite rare now.  My friend used to live in Missouri, and has tales of snakes dropping out of trees and slithering out from under stuff.....that's no place for me!  Ick!

Dusta, I know what you mean about having trouble breathing.  When we hike, I often get asthma, particularly if we are in a pine forest.  It improves, interestingly enough, the higher we go up.  It's scary, which can make you hyperventilate, if you're not careful.  I was a smoker for only a few years, but still had a lung tumor, possibly from chemical exposure at work.   Glad to see you're still getting out on your bike.

Dawn, these last few weeks you will notice a lot of changes.....Lil' Prince used to kick my ribs, so much that I would have to sit down!  And Ol' Prince took up residence on my bladder.  Add into that the swollen feet, hemmorrhoids, acne, bloody nose, Braxton-Hicks contractions, and clumsiness, and it's a wonder anyone bothers to get pregnant!  Just kidding!  Enjoy these last few weeks, they're amazing.  I would have liked a third kid, but we really couldn't manage.  Come to think of it, when you add in the hubby, I really do have three kids.  Are people trying to give you advice?  Here's my advice....Don't listen to any advice.   Raise your child the way you think is best!

Jet, what kind of music does DH play?  I love music of all kinds except opera and country.  (sorry, it's just the way I am!). I listen to classical sometimes in the car, but I like metal, R&B and classic rock.  Bluegrass is ok, but that "cry-in-your-beer" music gets on my last nerve!

Ginny, let us know how the hypnotherapist works.  My mom went to see one to quit smoking, and it worked for her.  I think what would help me is someone following me around all day, saying, "Do you really want to eat that?"

Actually, I'm down 11, but haven't walked this week...too cold and rainy, and last night I did gardening and housework, so maybe that counts.  I am shooting for a walk tonight after supper, if it doesn't rain.  If I don't walk, I probably won't get any lower numbers this week.  A pound or two a week is all I expect, so no sense beating myself up.  At least I've not gained!  And tomorrow is scrapbooking from 10-10, so I will have to take a walk around her block to get some exercise in.

I have a couple more hours to work, then I have to register Lil' Prince's truck and get groceries.  Have a nice afternoon.   PammieJ.

God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now I am so far behind that I will never die.
