Just what is Chocolate Hazelnut Spread?

    Just what is Chocolate Hazelnut Spread?

    I have a recipe that calls for this and I have looked everywhere for this and I just can't find it or anyone in the store to what it is.  I must admit that since I myself don't know what it is it is hard to tell someone else what it is!!

    If you could help me with the following please:

    1) just what is it

    2) what store to find it

    3) where in the store would I find it (shelf, refrigeration, frozen.......)

    4) how is it packaged

     The most common brand is Nutella and it is located in plastic jars near the peanut butter. All stores near me sell it. You might have even tried it without knowing what it was. It is great tasting stuff, addictive!

     There are other brands but I find this one  is the most common in our area

    If you look in recipe search, I am sure you can find a recipe for home made "nutella". I think Twinkle from over in Recipes posted one at one time, maybe a year ago or less.
