Re: June Cleaver Club Wednesday 4/30/08

    Good Morning!!

I need to go back and read through the posts for the past couple of days.  I have been down with sinuses.  Thought my head was going to split Monday and yesterday.  The headache isn't near as intense today.  That's a good thing.  I need to get some cleaning done in the kitchen and dining room.  DH did some of it last night, but left all the serving bowls and pans on the table for me.  He worked a long day yesterday, so I am not going to gripe about that.  I would really like your ladies' opinion on something.  I hope you don't mind me venting this, but I am a little bit angry with 3 of my mom's sisters.  This August, we are having a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents in the city where they live.  My aunts (at least 3 of them) will NOT be going.  There excuses:  gas is too high, we'd have to get a hotel, etc.  My mom is the oldest of 5 girls.  She is one of two that NEVER divorced.  The other sister who did not divorce will NOT be having a 50th anniversary party as her husband died of a massive heart attack several years ago.  My mom has bent over backwards for her sisters.  Every time there is any kind of party involving them, she goes if she is able to get the time off from work.  Her sisters all work Monday through Friday.  My mom works Saturdays and the occasional Sunday.    Anyway, my oldest DB and SIL who live in Phoenix are doing the majority of the work for this shindig.  My parents live in Sierra Vista which is a good 150+ miles away.  The younger of my two DB's and SIL live in Sierra Vista and are working on things like place to have the get together and acquiring things like pictures without my parents knowledge.  I know, even though they have a full house, they will welcome any out of town family to stay with them.   I am assembling a memories scrapbook which I will be bringing with me the full 1800+ miles that I will be driving with my two kids.  Her sisters also cannot come up with any memories of times with my parents during the 50 years they have been together.  I can come up with a minimum of 1 per sister.  The other issue is my grandmother would like to attend, but since she no longer drives she relies on my aunts to get her places.  I am hoping my DB and SIL will have room and can bring her with them.  Am I wrong to be this upset with my aunts?

Thank you for letting me vent my frustrations.

Sherry, good luck with the interviews.  Hope all goes well.

Margie, hospice took very good care of my MIL up to the end.  Continuing prayers for your family.

Can't remember who else I was going to address.  Have a wonderful day all and I'll try to pop in later on.

Good Afternoon Ladies. I've had a busy morning and didn't get a chance till now to post. After having my usual morning routine, I got DH off to work and did a load of laundry. I had a hairdresser appointment this morning, it feels so good to be "pampered" a little. I had my hair cut and colored. I feel so much better now! The rain finally ende, but it's very cold today. This morning the temperature was only in the 30's and tomorrow is going to be even colder, in the high 20's! It's warming up a little now, the temps should hit the high 50's. What a difference from last week when I was wearing shorts, and all the windows were opened during the day! At least it's sunny, so that helps "warm" things up a little. It's almost time for lunch. Supper for tonight will be hot dogs, pasta salad, and a tossed salad.

Thats it for now. HELLO to everyone, Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

    Hi Junes!!

Only a second, have company coming in 3 days and really need to clean, however, Casey needed pic's for a school project, and of course I started looking through all the pictures of when the kids were little, brought tears to my eyes!  My babies are growing up so fast!!!  I have  enjoyed every second of it, even cleaning the spaghetti off the wall!!!

Hope you all are having a wonderful day

    Good afternoon, everyone!

BRRRRR!  It was cold here in NC this morning!  It should warm up later this week.  My Daddy is replanting a few things in his garden today that were frostbit.  We had alot of rain this weekend.

So many of you asked how the meal went at our church for the widows & single ladies...it was very nice.  Everyone enjoyed the food, fellowship and the music program presented by the 2 speakers.  They had 2 large keyboards & played at the same time, some singing, some scripture reading, etc.  They were VERY talented!  My preacher wants me to plan another activitiy for this fall....not sure what to do the next time.

Jan-Happy (late) Anniversary to you & John!  Hope he is having a good day..

Jessica-Hope your were able to find some quiet time today to catch up on your studies

Hi sweet Margie and all you wonderful Junes, it seems like a month of Sunday's since I have been on here. I have been so involved with with John after his knee replacement surgery, I feel as though I have lost the last 3 weeks of time. Friday will be two weeks since his surgery. Physical therapy is going good, but seems to get a little tougher each time he goes. He has been down in the dumps today because he feels that he is not  progressing as he should. The therapist told him that he was doing very well for no longer that it has been since the surgery. I guess John thinks that he should be able to do all that he did before, but it takes time.  He is not superman. He got the staplesout and the ted hose removed along with his walker on monday. Let me run, it did not realize the time, I have to take him to therapy. Bye for now.

    Hugs, Jan

Shannon a fall activity for the ladies.  Wow talk about being ahead of the calendar.  I am the same way.  My SIL and I have been discussing the party for mom and dad since before Christmas.  We are just now really getting to the heart of things.  As for a fall activity, I'm kind of drawing a blank. I can come up with decoration ideas and a theme for food, but that's about it.  I'll keep thinking about it.

    Hi girls,

Good afternoon/evening!  First chance I  have had all day to get on the computer!!  I completely over slept this morning and was SO thankful that I showered last night - LOL

Today has been a whirlwind.  I unexpectedely was asked to help in Tommy's class for 4 hours, ran and picked up a few groceries, dropped them off at home and I am leaving momentarily to pick up the kids from school.  We have baseball games tonight at 5 and homework to finish.  I am sure I will sleep well tonight!!!

I better get going, can't be late or Tommy gets upset.  I will most likely be on first thing tomorrow morning.

    Hugs,

    Kathleen

Re: June Cleaver Club Wednesday 4/30/08

Here is the scoop on Banner. I don't know yet. There is Tier 1 floating which is floor based which is what I was on the 6th floor. There is Tier 2 floating which is all over the hospital which is what I did for 4 years before I worked on the 6th floor. This interview was for Tier 2. Tier 2 said they would prefer someone with more full time experience (I have floated or done registry part time for years). SO I had my interview with Human Resources but not with the float team. They asked me if there were any floors I would like to do Tier 1 on, I told them 6, 8 or Rehab for days and that I would consider nights on 6th floor. Rehab will remember me by name. 6th floor will remember me by name. The other floors would recognize me by my face but probably not my name. So there are several issues. I can still get just as many hours, would make slightly less an hour but more than I make with registry and it would always be the same floor I would be working on. I would only be required to work 1 Sunday a month rather than 2 and 3 shifts a month rather than 6, but I could work 6 if I wanted to.

Second issue is that orientation is now two weeks long, which includes the computerized charting. I have to find out if I can get 8 vacation days off or 10 at the post office during the first two weeks of June which is the next time they are having orientation. If not would have to move it backwards to when I started. June is a fairly hard time to get off at the post office. If I can't get the time off at the post office, I can't go even if I can find a floor that wants me. In the meantime I am stuck working registry, which is not enough hours. Too late for me to go to the other bid job at the post office (don't really want to leave CFS anyway). If I bid something else at the post office, then it would be automation or flats automation (and you know how badly that went).

She is supposed to call me back next week and let me know if any of the floors want me as a Tier 1 while I find out if I can get vacation time off for the orientation. It is possible I might be able to reschedule to work the afternoon shift those days but the problem is there is a 1 1/2 overlap and I doubt they would let me reschedule then take 1 1/2 hours off every day. If Banner can't make it work, then I will try the float team at Baptist and I will also try the float team at John C Lincoln.

So basically, I need a floor to say they want me as a Tier 1 and I need to be able to get time off at the post office in order to get to the orientation or else I am going to be forced to try to get to another float team at another hospital or to bid to a night shift job at the post office in order to get the shift differential to make up for all the hours I am not getting as registry. My budget won't take the lack of hours on registry too much longer.

I did hear from the endodontist and  my portion of the root canal is less than I thought it would be so that is good.

    Thanks for all your prayers.
