    Good morning......................................................................

Running through quickly this morning.  I work 7-5 and need to get in the shower and get out of here.  Kate's appointment went well yesterday.  It was just the one where you meet the nurse and they explain all of the appointments and upcoming events.  They take the history and do blood work, etc.  They couldn't get a good vein and Kate almost passed out because the nurse had to dig in 2 arms to get blood.  She turned whiter than a ghost and said we sounded like we  were talking in another room.  So, she was close to passing out.  Her lips were white, pretty freaky.  Anyway, the joys of being pregnant have begun!  Next week, the ultrasound and we meet the doctor for the blood test results.

Tonight I think I'll make spaghetti.  It'll be in the low 80's again today.  Pretty and sunny.

    Hugs and love.

    Happy Thursday !

    Good Morning June Friends!

     Hello-1-2.gif Hello picture by my3sons_2006

Today we are suppose  to see some sun again and in the 50's, but is a slight chance of sprinkles.  Rain tomorrow, of course because Ben has his class field trip to Cave of the Mounds.

This afternoon I have my yearly checkup with my endocrinologist (thyroid dr.).  It wasn't until end of month, but they called yesterday and had a cancellation so I took it.

Not sure what I'm doing today.

Not sure about what to make for supper either.

Hmm, not sure of much today am I ?  lol

    Have a great day!

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/1/08

I still don't know about Banner. Tier 2 float team had already decided that they wanted somebody with more recent full time experience and so they cancelled that half of the interview. The HR lady is trying. I am welcome to look at other Banner hospitals and float teams and part time jobs and things. I'm very frustrated right now and I don't want to go into the whole situation. I really really need to get more nursing hours than I am working at registry, but I can't go full time at nursing (I did full time at both jobs for awhile and it was horrible. I know I am a good nurse, they know I am a good nurse. That isn't the issue. Its a long long story about why I need nursing hours so badly right now and I don't have time to go into it here. I might be able to go back to the floor based floating like I was doing on the 6th floor. They are checking on 6, 8, or rehab which is what I requested. I have to look and see at the post office if I can get 4 days a week off in the first two weeks of June for orientation.I will be extremely surprised if I can get two weeks off in a row (almost) at the post office in either June, July, or August. THat is the peak of prime time season and there are strict limits in how many people can be off. If either one of those things doesn't work out, I have no clue what I am going to do. I posted a longer message about it on the end of yesterdays post. I could still get the same number of hours a month, the pay is slightly lower but still more than I am getting at registry. I did find out from my paystub that I have plenty of vacation hours to be able to do it.

Patti, praying the endoctrinologist appointment will go OK.

Deb, you always have things so planned out.

    Margie, thanks for the recipes.

Cherie, sorry Kate had such a time at the nurse appointment. Hope all is well with the labs. Does she want to know whether it is a boy or a girl?

    Have a good day everybody.

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/1/08

I forgot to kind of summarize the situation here.I think there is a fairly good chance that either 6th floor or Rehab will want me as a Tier 1 if they have any day slots open. I even said I would be willing to consider nights on the 6th floor if I have to. I don't think there is a very good chance that I can get enough time for orientation off at the post office during June. I won't make it financially if I don't get a more steady source of extra income than registry soon.So either I need more overtime at the post office, to go back to nights, or get a job with more hours than registry is giving me. If I had known this, I would have put in for training at the bid I got before and then waited to hear. At least I would have had that option. I'm basically in limbo, even if I can get the time off at the post office until I hear from Banner's efforts to find a floor that I like that will take me. Could do 12 I guess, but them would have to get chemo certified. Can't do tele without more training and ACLS certification. Not fond of the renal and neuro floors. Have no experience in post partum, so that only leaves ortho basically if 6, 8 or rehab don't want me. 6 is the med-surg/gyn/trauma floor. 8 is respiratory/diabetes/family practice. Not sure about at the other Banner facilities.

Good morning and Happy May Day!!

Not as cold here this AM, 43º and supposed to get near 70 with a chance of showers & t'storms this afternoon.

I am taking the girls to school a little later; Danielle has a science project to take in and I didn't want her to try taking it on the bus. Her class had to make Butterfly Traps, a variation on Leprechaun traps, and she & her dad have been working on that for the last couple weeks. Tomorrow evening, they are having a Science Fair, and HS students will come in and judge their traps. Afterward, her teacher is setting up his telescope and letting them each look through it, so she is very excited about that!
Tonight she has practice & I've decided to start walking while they are gone; Shelly works tonight, but will walk with me on nights she doesn't work. Not sure what's for supper yet.

Margie, I'm glad it's finally warming back up for you; hope you're able to get outside and enjoy it!! Your supper sounds great, as always! I thought there were some really cute ideas in that mag too! Keeping SIL in prayer.

Cherie, glad Kate's appt. went ok, and that she didn't pass out. Have a good day!

(((Patti))), hope your appt. goes well today. Sure hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, sounds like an awesome field trip!! My niece's class goes to the zoo tomorrow, and there is a chance of showers & storms here too.

Deb, wow 80º? Hope you enjoy the great weather and your visit with your mom & the boys!!

(((Sherry))), will be praying everything works out well with Banner. Hope you have a good day!

Kim, hope your sinuses are better today, I know how miserable that can be.

I need to get moving and make sure Danielle is getting ready, will try to pop in later! Hope everyone has a great day!! hugs,

Lisa~ It's suppose to be 80* here today and tomorrow and then get some rain off and on tomorrow through Sat. and then around 65* or so.  Enjoy your walk today.

    Off to get busy...... Deb

Good morning Margie, can you beleive that I am posting this early??? John is still sleeping and I thought I would let him sleep, as he just does not sleep well at night. He says he just cannot get comfortable in the bed. So while he is sleeping, I just let him sleep. I thought that geting the staples out would help him rest better becasue he likes to sleep on his stomach, but that does not seem to last for very long when he gets in that position. Time will heal all of this I am sure.

Darlene, I am glad that your family is all doing fine after that terrible storm. God Bless You.

Patti, I hope that your doctor visit goes well today.

I am going to make chicken breast with marsala wine saucefor dinner tonight, I am also having fresh squash amd fresh english peas. Gto to run I hear John upstairs moving around and I like to be in the room when he is in the shower.

Waving to Lisa, Sherry, Shelia, Jill, Katheen, Bell Cherie and all the Junes, Have  Blessed Day.

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this first day of May! Happy May Day! it's a cold but sunny day here in CT. WE woke up to temps only in the 20's! I can't believe the calender says May with temps that cold! Since it is sunny today, I'm taking advantage of that and I'm washing the quilt and sheets I had taken off our bed on Saturday. I waited until a nice day so I could hang them on the line to dry. I'm also washing towels and white clothes! Like I've said before, laundry never ends!!  After supper last night, we decided to go to Xpect to pick up a few groceries. It wasen't even that busy, and we didn't have to wait at the checkout either. DH has been working overtime everyday this week. he's so tired, and really is waiting for the weekend! I don't blame him!! Since I'm not sure how late dh will work again today, I'm having an easy supper of chicken soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

HELLO to all JUnes, Hope those who are having nice weather, get to go outside and enjoy it today. For those who can't, enjoy your dasy whatever you decide to do.

    Hi Junes!!!

Happy May Day!!!  Denise, thank you for reminding me - when we were kids we used to give out May Day baskets to all our neighbors!!!  Was so fun putting them on theirf ront steps, ringing the doorbell and running home!!

Today is another busy one, cleaning . laundry plus going to get my hair done.  Went and got Casey new shoes last night, she is so excited.  She will be wearing my 1st Communion dress, actually it's the one my parents bought for my oldest sister to wear, she is 58, all us girls wore it, and now the grandchildren are wearing it.  Casey  is the youngest grand daughter, guess it goes to the great-grandchildren next!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/1/08

Good morning ladies, woke up to the sun shining and that's good enough for me. It is suppose to hit 58 degrees and warming up again this weekend, so maybe Spring is here. Today is May 1, hope the month doesn't go too fast, as it should be nice weather. I went and got my groceries at Wal-Mart last night, and noticed in the gardening section, that they had a lot of nice bulbs they were selling. We can only put out pansies, that have been hardened, or plant flower bulbs right now. I brought a red Asiatic Lily that is called Commander In Chief, and some Toad Lilies, that are called Tricyrtis Hirta on the package, I got them for $4.97 a package and they have 4 roots in one, and 5 bulbs in another. I looked all over for those Toad Lillies last year, and they were all sold out everywhere. So you have to get your bulbs early if you want a good selection. Out to the greenhouse I go to, the Lilies are $7.98 a plant, and that is only for 1 bulb, this way you get 5 bulbs, and end up with 5 plants blooming mid-summer. Good deal, Huh!!

Also brought me another redwood trellis, it is a small one, just right for my roses out front, so they will stay upright. Those were only $5.97, and I will have it for years. Maybe today I can get a chance to plant them if it is not too wet, but have to go to Kohl's first, as they have a good sale on sweatshirts on the 80 % off rack, and I want to get a few to wear at the house to bang around with while I am gardening, as I get right in the dirt, and get very dirty, Lol. My sister said she picked up two sweatshirts for $5.00 apiece, and they had kitties on them, I don't care as I use them just to garden or bang around with. Then off I go to Barnes and Noble to pick up 2 more Lee Child books, his books are so thrilling, and have a nice large Passion iced tea, and relax and look at the gardening mags.

So have to get busy and make the bed, feed the dogs, and pick up a little bit in the house, and off I go, doing my favorite things, shopping and going to Barnes and Noble. Be good girls, check out those bulbs at Wal-mart, and you will be rewarded about mid-summer with beautiful blooms. Waving to all the Junes, and our sweet Margie, and will try to get on and chat, when I get back from my excursion, Lol.

    Belle

These are the Toad Lilies bulbs, that I brought at Wal-Mart, this is what the flower will look like this summer.

    Hi girls,

Only have a minute. Tommy's class is making "dinosaur soup" today and our contribution is diced potatoes so I have to prepare those in addition to making lunches and breakfast.

It is over-cast and chilly here today and it is expected to last the day.  Fine with me!!  I have some housework to get done today, general straightening up and vacuuming.  Not sure what is for dinner yet.  Donnie has a 5 o'clock baseball game.  Too early to eat beforehand, and want something simple, easy to clean up after since we won't get home til after 7.

Well, I better get going.  Hope you all are feeling well and have a great day.  Will try to get back on later.

    Kathleen
