Sloosh, sloosh, drip, drip, that is me sogglily coming into the house. It is pouring and with the strong wind, I got wet through my winter coat. I had three stops to make after work and had to get out of the car at each one. hehe My coat is too wet to hang in the closet so it's hanging on a chair "drip drying". I remembered milk, LL and a half baked Godfathers pizza for supper, so am all set, I hope. hehe Mark will be very happy to see that pizza for supper. Actually I wanted to make one more stop, but was getting chilly from being so wet,

Nancy, I did go to work with a positive attitude, I was POSTITIVE, that they would have a hissy day and I was right, at least the morning was. LOL Afternoon they were just bouncing off the wall. And I didn't try to catch any of them. hehehe, let 'em drop. I'm so mean.Devil

Wanda, glad that you DGS is ok.

LILy, I always tell Mark he has to listen louder, but he said his ears didn't come with volume control.

    OH nuts, phone call.ttyal

     Good Rainy Afternoon.

AZnanny, Welcome to the neighborhood.  I live in WI with my DH of 47 years. I have a 1 DD and 2DSs.  4 DGSs and ! DGD ages 18 to 5. Please visit come and visit with us often.

Annie, It seems there were a lot of problems with your latest move. I hope everything settles down soon. Soap suds in the toilet doesn't sound like everything is working right yet. I made your peach cobbler yesterday. But I didn't have any peaches so I used a can of fruit cocktail. The can was kind of juicy so my cobbler is gooey, but very good. Thanks for the recipe, I use it often.  Enjoy your visit out in the sticks.

Jane, That must be a big shower with lots of guests and food. Around here a shower just has a dessert type food. But I know each part of the country does it different.

Mom2, Your dad sure sounds busy. I just hope he doesn't turn wrong and end up in a lot of pain. Tell him HI. I put out my hummer feeder too. But we haven't seen any visitors yet. I hope the weather turns out nice for taking pictures.

Justme, I hope those turkeys cooperate. Good luck in the morning.

Ruth, It sounds like you ladies got a great haul from the nusing home. A new boxful should keep you entertained in this kind of weather. Sorry you missed out on the trip to the library. Smile

Mimit, I hoppe nothing blew away at your place. It sonds like bad weather day.

Suzi, I clean freezer can always brighten a day. I don't know how mine can get to be a mess in a little while after I clean it. Sad

Mimib, Thunder storms have been passing by here too. But nothing serious. Just enough to make me shut down the computer.

Nancy, That sounds like a long scrapping party. I have never been to one. Though DIL goes to them quite often. Only hers usually last all weekend so she needs a babysitter.

Jan, I will take your temps. We have a fire in the furnace again today.

IC, I hope you and DA had a great lunch.

Mamma, I'm glad this week is over for you. Maybe things will improve next week. Though I know at this time of the year things don't always improve.

I finally got the quilt sewed around. it was an extra heavy one and those are hard to keep on the counter and under the sewing machine. It always wanted to slide away.

I think I will go and read my book. It is that kind of weather outside. Tomorrow is city wide rummage. Not sure if I will go. I would like to find some blankets and sweaters for the layettes for LWR. But if the weather is yucky I won't go.

Well, after the rain comes the sunshine. But, no rainbow. Didn't get to church yet. Russell went down to help his buddy Herbie with his computer. He took my van and now I have to wait until he comes home. Oh, oh, he just came in. With good news I may add. He and Herbie are going out for a fish fry and now I don't even have to make him dinner. So, I am getting ready to go to church.

Welcome, AZnanny, I live in SE WI.

See you all in the morning. Have a nice chat.

    Howdy!

Misty, cold and dreary here this afternoon but no big raindrops falling from the sky. The day went by fast and I am ready to enjoy my long weekend as I have Monday off. Stopped at the school credit union to deposit money that I took out on Monday so I can keep my savings account "fattened up" .... well ... sort of ... to me anyway!

Mamma ... Seeing our behavioral classes makes it easier for me to understand your plight. Boy, they are something to behold and all of our kids all elementary age. I also notice the families these kids come from. What's that saying?  "The apple doesn't ............

Lily ... You sure hit good deals at that B&D. Salad dressing for $1.25? Wow, great way to stock up on items.

Gram ... Wish I lived close enough to go to that ciry-wide rummage sale. That's right up my alley. Love to poke and look for treasures. Hope you have a great time!

azgranny ... Welcoming you from Massachusetts! Big Smile I've been married almost 42 years, have 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 grandaughter and 1 grandson. My children are all married ... one is a 4th grade teacher, one is a college academic counselor and my son is a merchandiser for a company that has the apparel license for the National Hockey League. I am an elementary school secretary with no plans to retire anytime soon.Wink  Hope you come and visit us often.

Going to get supper started but have to figure out what to have first!

Hi, I am just stopping in now as we have severe thunderstorm watches going on, and it is getting mighty dark out there.  Just wanted to tell you I saw the spine specialist yesterday, and I am going to have a procedure done on the 28th, an epidural that will shrink the swelling and deaden the nerves that are giving me so much grief.  It is outpatient.  I wish I could have had it tomorrow, but I can't get there before then.  I could have had it on the 14th, but Laura will be out of town, and I don't want to have it and come home alone.  I am sore today after all the bending and stretching yesterday.  I did get some muscle relaxers to take at bedtime.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Prayers for all, and welcome, aznanny.

    Re: 5/2 Grannie Neighborhood

    Hi GN

WELCOME AZNANNY  I am one of the grannies from Mi.  I have 2 grown sons and 3 DGC.

This is the end of the week for me you all and I of course am tired.  Buddy2 is gone to Hart to a friends for the night and Tootsie Roll is with her mother.  I was sick on Wed. and stayed in bed the whole day.  OHHHHHHHHHHH  IT FELT SO GOOD.  DH is also sick and can't really get him to hardly move.  Keep telling him to go to Dr. but my DH is so STUBBORN!

Well, guess what Doug fell again.  He has been falling a lot lately and this time he damagedk his shoulder.  Thank the Lord it is not broken but he is going to be laid up for awhile.  Nice time to do that huh   especially since my last day with him will be on Monday.  Will start back with Marion & Larkin on Wed ofk this coming week.  I worked from l:30-5:30 today because Doug was sitting in the hospital getting treated.  So anyway I am here but don't think I'll be back tonight later.  No twins and think I will let DH & DS fend for themselves to get something to eat.  Nasty mom & wife aren't I?????  Don't answer that please!!!!!!!

Will check in with you in the Am sometime.  Is MJ on vacation or what?  Well, think I have yakked enough for right now.  Oh by the way Apple  where did you find a lighted crochet hook?  What is it made out of?           Gotta run     Have a good night                 Bye

Vickyo I sure hope the epidurall will give you some relief.  If they deaden the nerves won't that make you a candidate to be hurting yourself because of no feeling?  When I think of all the grannies here in the GN that are hving problems I will just endure being tired and thank God its nothing worse.

vickyo ... Glad to hear that there is something to relieve you of the pain. Is this a temporary fix or is it a permanent solution?  Hopefully it will solve your problem and make you feel better. I wish you could have it done sooner also but just try to hang in there until the 28th! Big HUGS to you.

bb2 ... Glad that you are feeling better and hope that your DH feels better soon also. AND NO! You are not a nasty wife or mother. Sometimes it's good to let the family fend for themselves ..... makes us more appreciated...... Don't you think??? LOL

Good Evening. Is anyone coming to chat?  It really rained hard with hard wind blowing about 4 p.m. But it is clearing off pretty much now. Just some sprinkles later during the night and tomorrow.

Vicky, I hope this surgery will help you.

Hi BB, just rest this weekend as long as the twins are gone.

I  have a Banana cake for chat time, but it isn't frosted. DH prefers them "nekked"! Smile

Just here for a few minutes tonite...............WELCOME to AZNANNY!!  I am from  Central New York............the Finger Lakes Area.

Annie's Attic & Mary Maxim both have the lighted hooks & needles but ACMoores Arts & Crafts have them also & no shipping.  40% off made the hook $5; not too bad.  It is to use on dark colored yarn..........& I do have trouble with black, Navy blue & dark brown. Lily   made me laugh at crocheting in the dark; SO said I should turn off the lamp when crocheting!  LOL   But BONNIE made me laugh at the lighted fishing bobber; guess that's so the fish can see the bait..............lol

Good Night Many many donations at the store today....$store closed near here & we got much of their merchandise & some racks & shelves. (which we CAN REALLY use)  Subbing in the morning for a lady who wants to attend a church meeting...Saturdays can be WILD so I'll probably stay up front & sort through the children's books........we have many of those!

    Left HugRight Hug  for everyone..............

I'm here Lily. Just got done reading the posts since this morning.  I see alot of grannies are getting rain.  We've been lucky so far today, maybe a few tomorrow.

I had a lovely day with my aunt.  There is a small comfy Italian resturant close by that we really like & great food.  We had a nice lunch then went shopping for cards &OO groceries.

SUZI  I used to make Italian cake yrs. ago.  I should look up my recipe again, if I still have it that is.

Hi Mary. Glad you enjoyed your day. We have had lots of rain, but at least none of those terrible tornadoes that we saw down in Missouri and Arkansas on the news.  I had to laugh at Aznanny, who had to water her lawn! I have water to spare right now!

I thought I was talking to myself & here you were here all the time, LILY.....

SO likes his cake "bare" also.   That's why I make alot of Bundt Cakes & sometimes just drizzle a glaze on them.

You'll be busy with quilt tops again.  Have you ever heard of making a small baby quilt out of a pillow sham.   Some in our GTA's group have done some of those.  I guess they put a sheet of batting inside & stitch up the back opening; then tie off on the top!  Seems quite easy..........we sometimes get almost or brand new ones at the Thrift Store.

Enjoy the chat & the goodies!

LILY  We have above average of rain for the year so far.  I just hope when the farmers plant there crops we have enough rain this summer for the veggies.  I love my fresh veggies in the summer.  We have three farm markets close by that we go to alot in the summer time.  Nancy gives me some tomatoes too.  At the end of the season she gives me alot to cook down for the winter months.
