    Whoopie pie, but not

In college, my roomate's grandmother made the most amazing "cookies" to send to us. They remind me of whoopie pies (now that I am in New England I recognize that), but these were made by a Virginia lady and completely different. The cookies were more along the lines of school lunch ice cream sandwich cookies, as far as tastle goes. They looked just like whoopie pie cakes, though. The filling was not the fluff in a whoopie pie, but a delicious cream that hardened nicley inside the cookie. The whole package was one of the most delicious things I have ever had, and I have been craving them for several years now. Can anyone help me with a recipe???

Type "whoopie pies" (without the quotes) in the search box at the top of this page and you'll get four different variations. One of them may be just what you're looking for.
